Well, Sol is my main character and I lack the abillity to choose which of his combos I should learn.

The SW loop is the most important I guess, it seems the key for mastering SW loop is jS>SW.

I need some few basic combos so I can play with people, gain exp until I get the hang of how Sol works so I could improvise.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I've recently felt (a little bit) the joy that is this game. I'm over 30 now and I've been playing fighters since WW. I have some BlazBlue experience (mained Ragna). Other games I play now are 3s and VF5:FS. I've competed in both recently at Super Arcade but I never won a set. But I always gave GGs, that's for sure. I need something like BlazBlue in the mix and GG it is (the trifecta is complete). I think both this game and Sol Badguy are cooler and BlazBlue and Ragna. Compared to BlazBlue: more of a oki game (I think?), slashbacks, a more simple yet still just as deep system, and plus, I'm more of late 90's-early 00's anime guy. I play exclusively PS3 even though I have both because I'm cheap like that

I need advice.

I need to hit harder. What are some of the easiest yet decent damage combos with Sol? I know there are combo lists but I want what you guys think are (braindead) easy yet damaging. (So none of that Clean Hit stuff yet.) I think stuff off of K, S, throw (both command and normal) would be great.

General tips on offense would be much appreciated.

General tips on defense would be even more appreciated.

Help me level up, please!

Look...The strategy sections in Sol's SRK and DL wikis are completely blank Zero. Zilch. Nada. Dustloop has a wealth of Sol information and a ton of experts in GG and BB. Therefore I'm asking those of you with an SRK Wiki/Wikia account to fill it in. Don't have one? Apply, and (if it is the SRK Wiki) be sure to write a nice essay for as to why you want an account!
(Trust me, I know from experience.. They won't let you in w/o SERIOUS reason to.)

Hello...I know I'm not very active around here so I don't know all the details but how useful/practical would this be (it only Gatling Combos from forward P?)

btw I was practicing Sidewinder combos in the training mode while watching this and at about 1:37 Sol uses air Dust (from FRC Bandit Revolver I think?), then forward HS RC'd into Wild Throw and I was thinking "oh that looks cool maybe I can do that instead of just plain Wild Throw"

Can Sol's other normal attacks be RC'd into Wild Throw? Forward HS seems to be the only one as that puts the opponent into stagger so it'd be easier

Hi there Ladies & Gentlemen,

I'm an avid SFA3Max player and I wanted something new for a change, so I tried GGXXAC+ and so far I gotta say I really love it. I'm playing on a PSP btw.

I figured out that the easiest way to get started would be to play the Ruy/Ken kinda guy to get all the basics right, but heck, the gameplay has nothing to do with SF at this point. It's so much more complicated. So I read a few guides and watched a couple tutorials but there are still a few moves that I just can't pull off no matter what.

For starter, the Jump Install thingy in this combo:

S 8, 2D, BR(1) FRC, H, Jc D, SW

I don't know if it's the exact combo but it was very resembling. The point though is that I "store" a jump after doing the "S 8, 2D" part and I should be able to use that jump after the "FRC, H" to continue with "D, SW"... But for the life of me, and I probably trained for at least an hour, I just couldn't pull the damn move off!

Sol always lands normally on the ground and to keep the opponent in the air, I have to continue the combo from the ground.

Then I have another problem with mid-air combos:

I launch an opponent in the air, I jump to continue the combo, but Sol won't do the second jump. If I hit during the first jump, I can't get him to jump another time to chain the combo.

So how can I do to jump, hit, second jump, hit again without falling on the ground?

I even watched a Chipp video when he jumps like 3 times while hitting like there's no tomorrow.

Can anyone help me with these, it's driving me nut!

Thanks!

I've been playing Guilty Gear for a long time. A really long time. Ever since I was thirteen or so and spotted GGX in the local EB and bought it on some odd whim or reason I don't recall, I've loved the series. The characters, the graphics, the music, the balls-to-the-wall gameplay, you know the drill.

I've had numerous highs and lows with the game through the years, whether it was playing for hours after school before track practice with pals in high school or beating on scrubs at some random C-bus anime convention. The whole while I always felt I was pretty solid at the game, though obviously not champion material.

Then came October 2010 and Season's Beatings 5. I signed up for the GGAC tourney, with my only intentions being to have fun and see what I could do. I practiced and practiced my CLSW loops all day, and tried my best to up my game as much as possible before the big weekend.

In the first round I was matched against Sesshryu and his Order-Sol. Despite terrible tourney nerves and awful execution I somehow won the first game. My God, I thought, am I actually gonna get out of the first round?

Nope. Everything fell apart those next two games. I got mixed up, tossed into the corner, and obliterated. My only answer was random VVs on wakeup. Onward to Loser's, where I was promptly and effortlessly eliminated by a May player.

Ever since I've lost some of my love for GG, I think largely because I'm not sure where to go from there with my Sol playing. There is zero scene in my area, and I've never met another person who even plays GG without having it introduced by me. I've tried to train friends up but they never really pose a legitimate threat or a real desire to level up their games at all.

Just the other day I was playing against a friend who never plays fighters seriously. He picked Bridget, for whatever reason. I rushed him down and hit him with loops and combos and what-have-you, but it took entirely too much effort and I ate way too many random, mashy hits. After that, I really feel as if I've lost my taste for the game, and it saddens me.

BUT! Powerup 2011 is coming in just over a month...and I want to try again. I wanna get back in there and see what I can do. However, I'm still lost as to what I can do to get better. With no equal training partners, no online play, and feeling at the end of my own personal knowledge, I come here with a question: what can I be doing?

Practicing my loops and combos will only get me so far. Have any of you ever been in a similar situation? What would the superior Badguys out there recommend I try? Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is a matter of frames here. A sw gives a clean hit and can be done fairly low to the ground. Clean hits are un-tech-able for x amount of frames. Sol's IK has some stupid startup time both on the ik itself and the kill mode animation. What i want to know is are there enough clean hit frames (untechable) to allow for an Ik after a low sidewinder.

Also wondering if you can rc or frc vorukanniku vaipa and then ik.

another way would be wild throw, ik, although this would be risky. But it's sol's ik, it's going to be.

0_0 wait.... Sol's old dustloop had some stupid untech time... hmm... ik ender?

I've been meaning to ask this for some time now, but seeing as it doesn't come up that often, I never got around to it.

I know there are moments when Dragon Install itself is useful, due to invincibility frames and whatnot, but the question is, what next?

From what I gathered:

Sweeps kill DI
Tension Gain is good.
You risk negative Penalty when time runs out and there's Counterhit status among other things.

I don't really want to think of it as a desperation attack though, because in previous games it didn't act that way, and it was a pretty good way of psyching out the opponent, putting a little fear into them.

So what do you guys suggest?
