From a superjump, Dizzy can airdash 1f earlier from the ground than from a normal jump. I
n theory this can make the overhead faster, but in practice it requires the SJIAD to be frame perfect to be better.

Fastest possible IAD j2S timings vs crouching opponents holding 1, tested by me using Eddienput scripting and recording software. I split the target characters into three groups, which are roughly the "easy" ones, the "hard" ones, and the "impossible" ones. For characters like Millia, hitting them early requires the IAD to be perfect height, which is a 1f input, so depending on your execution you may not find this viable. One expert Dizzy player told me when I was making this that they didn't think it was even possible! My feeling is, they can't air throw you or jump anyways, so even if you mess it up and it's kind of slow, if they don't hit you out of it, you're still very plus, so it's not a big deal to not get it perfectly every time. Still worth going for!

I was really amazed at how fast this can be when I first measured it. 2D has 17f blockstun, so if you do it perfectly, vs the "easy" chars it's only a 7f gap. Vs Testament and Pot and it's only a 4f gap!

Doing this from a neutral state is extremely difficult on lever or pad. Actually I switched to leverless specifically to do this, because it's pretty easy with SOCD and very powerful. However even on lever and pad, it's still powerful to do it out of a jump cancel, and that gives you a bit more time to do the motion. The real difference is setups like fish -> IAD j2S oki.

Some data on Dizzy's 5P. 5P is extremely strong on block, having routing to itself/2P, to 2K, and a jump cancel to IAD j2S, so it can on its own build a rhythm-block resistant mixup if you can get it to connect. It's also one of her only normals that chains to 6H (the other being 6P) which has big GB+, flexible FRCs, and a jump cancel on the second hit. Unfortunately it whiffs vs crouching in many cases so we have to jump through some hoops to get it to work.

Vs chars where it works while they're in blockstun, we can either chain into it (eg dash 2P 5P) or we can do it from a summon (eg K-fish).

Note that a crouching opponent waking up while go through their While Crouching animation unless they cancel it with something (usually a button or crouch FD), so 5P can be a good meaty. In particular in the classic dash KD-fish corner setup, using 5P can both let you get a hitbox out faster (useful vs Pot churning) and also because of the lower hitstop allows for different setups than KD-fish 5K (because you get to jump earlier). Hypothetically they can crouch FD to avoid it, but 1. most players don't even know to try this, and 2. they don't really get anything from it, because they have to keep crouching until the 5P is done, and then they still have to deal with the fish anyways. The 5P's job is to hold them in place, and if they're crouch FDing, it's doing its job. There might be some specific OSes that can be done on this, I haven't done that much investigation on it.

The case of characters who crouch under it only on hit is weird but if we're making blockstrings out of it and doing it from eg a tight on block P-fish bite, I don't think it matters because the fish isn't going to mix them somehow and mess up the setup.

Let's make a thread to keep track of and discuss Dizzy changes for the upcoming Accent Core Plus R!

Now, I fully expect the Dizzy modifications in +R to change, especially after the first loketest, so keep that in mind. Having said that, let's look at the currently known changes:

421D : New FB move, FB version of 421S (3 homing blades)

K fish bites 3 times

Fish laser causes wall stick

Text above tension bar indicates if not possible to summon fish

Okay so... FUCKING YES that FB dagger seems AWESOME. It basically is 25% tension to be guaranteed to be left alone, before it was only the threat of an ice-spike frc, but now... Holy shit! Looks like the recovery is short as well. I have already dubbed this the "superhadoken"

Yes, a visual aid to show when you can't summon fish. That's a pure improvement, and a needed one at that.

The K(?) fish looks weird. I want to see if it looks the same on block or whiff, because it almost seems like it "confirms" into more bites on hit. Not sure if it's good or not, but at least different.

Wall stick? Yeah we saw it on the video, but it's really too early to tell anything about it. Is it only on air hit? Will it toss the opponent further now? What's the techable time on the air hit?

I'm afraid that some of those questions have an answer I don't want to hear, this feels like a nerf, but it's hard to say.

Discuss!

Allright here is my attempt at compiling all of Dizzy's changes posted in the general info thread, and what i have seen in videos:

-Fish do not disappear when hit.

-New slash move in air. command is 2s. (probably her EX j.s sprites)

-Gamma ray slightly stronger

-Dizzy takes more damage and dies even easier. LOL

-Homing bubble, lasts roughly 3 seconds.

-Scythe move (formerly 236s and 623s) new input using k. This was probably done so you can do setups where you hold the spear and use scythe without negative edging the spear.

-2k gatling into 5hs?

-J.Hs slower

-New colors and voice acting.

With her taking more dmg i think we will need to continue playing like champions.

There was some stuff me and my friend google couldnt translate so if someone posts a more complete translation ill delete this post.

Dizzy:

JHS: become slower

214+pksh: don't disapear if you get hit like before

looks like you have to do twice the command and combine effect for example:

214P, the fish appears, then you can add the fonction like push P it will bite four time!

214K>HS, it will lock opponent bite one time and use laser!

so that mean, : 1 make appears the right fish then add:

P: bite twice

K: opponent lock and bite once

S: Upward laser

Hs: normal laser

no more FRC on Dizzy's 2D but she has Jump cancel on it!

Dizzy's bubble is faster so you can do at far distance 2D JC bubble double air dash!

New command for the 421S?: 236S/K

Gatling combo :K, Hs and HS, 2D disapear and new: 2K, HS added but it become a combo only on a crouched opponent

Defense rate become weaker

Force Break: Bubble, it locked opponent like Bridget Roger and is at same speed, when it touch opponent it longs for 3 seconds

New moves: still unknow had to wait for 8 days

Gamma Ray damage up

New: J2S looks like GGX JS

Necro Grab motion changed to 632146+P

Finally, and KEEPING IN MIND it is WAY TOO EARLY for any tier lists, this one was posted in some japanese blog and it seems to reflect the impression of a lot of japanese players, PLEASE do not rely on this or think of it as trust-worthy, as it is way too early, but since im trying to make this as comprehensive and complete as possible, here is the first attempt at a tier list with Accent Core released on Japan, it was posted on Dec. 25:

S tier- Potemkin, Faust, Testament, May, Slayer? (referred to as moustache?), and Dizzy- Some broken aspects?

Only really interested me because May's up on tiers!

Discuss ΛC okizeme here.

For those just new to Dizzy - okizeme is really where Dizzy shines and it's from here you'll do the most damage to your opponent. Dizzy okizeme is all about planning. There's no way you can freestyle at all as much as, say, Ky. In many cases your entire input for the next seconds will already be planned once the opponent rises. If you plan and practice you can have endless possibilities to hurt and scare your opponents, but if you just improvise, there's a very good chance your corner pressure, and the match for that matter, will slip through your fingers.

Read this if you don't understand the notation

These are some of the more common okizemes dizzy players use. But like I said, the possibilities are endless.

Note that no followup combos are listed here, you'll have to figure those out on your own, but most of them can successfully be followed up by either 2k or S.c into standard knockdown and reset. Also note that many of these are not autocombos and you'll have to prepare to go to combo earlier if the opponent accidentally ate a hit before they've come to end

Accent Core Dizzy Strategy Guide

-----------------------------------

For Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced players

This guide is intended to help both Guilty Gear beginners who want to learn Dizzy as their first character, and experienced players who want to learn more about what Dizzy can offer. I have tried to structure it in such a way that even newcomers to the game should be able to understand the content. If you are new to the game, please visit our encyclopedia for essential basics about the game. There is also a basic Guilty Gear FAQ written by Gwyrgyn that helps beginners to understand how the game works, and I recommend that you read through it first.

Navigating This Guide

This guide can be read straight through from beginning to finish, and is what I recommend you to do, especially if you are new to the game. If you have prior game experience and just want to learn Dizzy as your new character, you can skip to Chapter 2 of the guide, which lists her normals. Simply scroll down to the Table of Contents and click the corresponding chapter that you would wish to view.

I have also included links on most of the keywords throughout the guide. If you don't understand a keyword you come across, chances are that you can click it, guiding you to Chapter 1 of my guide, which lays out all the basic keywords you should know.

IF AT ANY TIME YOU ARE CONFUSED, PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN DE-CONFUSE IT

I try to envision a beginner's point of view while writing, but of course I cannot guarantee that I will always be successful. Please tell me if anything you see in this guide confuses you.

So. Yeah... I'm just curious what colours do all you DI players use? I used to use several, specifically K and S, EX P and EX K. For a short while I really liked Suigintou Dizzy too, Slash HS, but lately I've been going back to default just cause none of the major japanese DI players use it.

How 'bout you guys?

In the right situation, dizzy can do both damaging and stylish combos. However, most of the time she's going to have to stick to her basic low-damage stuff and instead make sure she gets a knockdown. Basically, there are only three kinds of combos you want to aim for

1) Get a knockdown (preferably in the corner)

2) Do tons of damage

3) Kill the opponent

That means that, unless you get at least 70 or 80 extra damage from your combo or it kills the opponent, going for flashy followups that removes knockdown is very seldom worth it

Bubble Loop

The bubble loop is by far Dizzy's most damaging combo technique. Generally, it means that you have a homing pike out while you aircombo the opponent and then release it after a j.H to give you time to summon a bubble that strikes them. The timing for the bubble loop can be pretty strict but, it's usually worth it.

Sometimes the bubble will be popped by the homing pike, other times you have to manually pop it after the pike lands. I usually do a j.K after the bubble is summoned, since in most cases it will hit the opponent only if they weren't lifted by the popped bubble. j.H can also be used to pop the bubble for extra damage, but the timing is significantly harder

Bubble Loop Setups

This is a good setup to practice with, also try without the IAD. But don't hesitate to try it in matches, release the homing pike to keep you safe from punish if they block 6H

The ice spike FRC, arguably one of the harder in the game, is a must to know if you wish to master Dizzy. The good news, however, is that it isn't used as widely as it was in the old X2/#R days. Mainly because the ice spike forced proration doesn't make long loops worth it anymore. However it still has its uses:

Anyways, I recommend you learn it by muscle memory, as waiting for audiovisual cues means you can't concentrate as much on other important aspects of the game at that moment. But until then, there are a few tricks to help you out.

Dizzy can, in fact, special cancel her 2D using the same technique as slayer does when he chea... back dash cancels. What you do is basically you jump cancel the 2D, and then after the 2D, but before the jump, you execute the special move and bingo, special cancel!

I have three different ways I go about when I special cancel 2D:

1) The correct way

This is not so much a good way to perform it as a warning that 2D > TK bubble might go wrong if you time it bad.

I've been practicing the posted dizzy combos that have been posted and the only ones that I'm having an overwhelming amount of trouble on are the 6P to 421 combos (the one that starts the bubble loop). Something about the spacing is very inconsistent and 421 completely whiffs (for the first hit where it appears). I pulled it off ONCE against Slayer and it never happened again...

Hey cats,

Just wondering if anyone has copies of my old Dizzy #R guides lying around anywhere. Was trying to find them for a number of reasons but it looks like they've all been nuked off the internet.

If anyone has either these or my ABA guides I'd totally appreciate you dropping me a line. If I don't hear any feedback go ahead and delete this thread or whatnot but it would be pretty cool if I could find these somewhere.

Thanks all!

Disclaimer * it is somewhat of a copy from the johnny thread*

This sub forum hasn't been getting alot of discussion lately, so in the name of fun let’s make a list of changes we would like to see, hopefully what people list won't be as broken but the term practical and execution comes in minds as some of dizzy property needs adjustment and some changes from reload--> Slash--> AC has some ' + ' and ' - '.

(2D)

One of the changes to AC I don’t partially like is the 2D range nerft, Dizzy 2k is an extreme good poke if u consider its range property, probably one of the betters lows with good range. The main issue is the range decrease on 2D doesn’t let dizzy use her potential to full, while it may seems like a rant I feel a simple galtor like 2k--> 2d shouldn’t be whiffing on targets. The + side of 2d is the unprorated effect of the move but I wouldn’t mind a 70% prorate to get back her range. The jump cancel and special cancel is debatable either one is fine and I can live with either as it’s stylish and allows for great pressure game play, Jump cancel --> special cancel has been one of dizzy more technical side to game play which I think has made her a somewhat more obstructive for high level game play but also more rewarding.

*Side Note brings back her 2d frc.*

(Kinomi wo toru toki ni tsukatteta n desu, 421 S, Air spike)

One of the few changes from reload--> slash I enjoy is the ability to hold this special. It’s an excellent move to induce threat on people without experience and with a few mental challenges you can play your game fine while holding onto it as a safe measure. One of the few things I find daunting is the lost of air spike when hit, I’m fine with it disappearing during the summon stage and the holding stage but when you release the special I feel that its property shouldn’t disappear on hit allowing it to be a normal projectile. Applying Dizzy AC fish property of staying out when fully summon that allows for punishes on dry summoning but gives leeway to dizzy as an oki class character.

(Necro Okotta Baai, 632146P )

The change in input has made this move a lot more practical in real matches and with a few tweaks you can input this command as an instant block and punish. My issue is the lack of damage as in real matches those with experience can evade and punish it with ease as the start up and OD animation is a dead give away to its activation.

(6P)

This one I will be sitting on the fence, the changes has its + and -, I prefer its AC incarnation but it isn’t practical in any real sense as a KD would be prefer. Its property should be untechable on CH which I believe would make it a better move but that might be asking too much. The wall bounce effect into 421 s has being an interesting discovering in AC but limited to character specific combos.

(J.hs )

One of Dizzy best arsenal for damages, range and block stun, - negative it can be easily punish and the longer start up has reflected badly on her game play. One of the few times I get disappointed with this move is in cross over, the long start up makes it a bad choice in those circumstance. Hopefully it would go back to the way it was in reload and we can see application of AD x2 jhs cross over.

(FB bubble)

Besides novelty it hasn’t been usefully much in matches, wishing for a rainbow colour bubble ^^, or better yet a real Force break. I sometimes think even Anji’s red butterfly and Bridget FB roger outclass Dizzy’s FB.

(Yoku hanashiaite ni natte kuremasu, 214 “x” x= P,K,S or HS)

One of the dizzy better changes, double fish input is been one of her finer points in AC, the after summon delay is problematic. Doing fish summon tick throws and not allow to resummon fish is probably the biggest issue I have about ggxx, that’s about the changes I feel hinders her from being awesome.

That about everything I would like to see in the new ggxx series with dizzy, hopefully we can get some extra dizzy stuff outside of her normal maybe a new move or two.

I've been thinking about doing Dizzy video tutorials for some time. Now I finally have the capping card again so I can begin slightly.

My first thought was only to make it about okizeme and mind games, but I'm not sure, so basically, I'm creating this thread to see what people would like to see in such a video, or if you think it's a good idea at all.

So
Do you guys think it's a good idea?
"Advanced" stuff only or should it be a complete guide, like rundowns of normals, specials, zoning, combos and stuff like that?
Anything special you want to see in it?

Hey guys, I'm trying to make a somewhat guilty gear guide. It will include data on character matchups, info on normals, tips while playing and a small section on how to level up your gameplay based on the information organized on dustloop and collected by me :D I will post the results collected for each survey once they are "done".

I hope that you'll help me out by filling out these 3 surveys.

The first link is the Specific Matchups Survey that deals with the tier listings for all the players (that help fill out this survey) which is essentially Dustloop's own tier list. The second link is the General Gameplay Questionnaire that deals with identifying the best game play strategy for each character. This will tell you what your peers and rivals are doing with their character. The third link is the Character Questionnaire that deals with the overall rating of the character. This data will be used in the guide I am making.

FAQ:

1) Why should I fill these up?

First of all to know yourself. When you fill these questionnaires up, you will find out what kind of player you are. Second, you can find out the better strategies others are using (ie, ur playing Baiken, and you play offensively however your better peers are playing Baiken defensively, so you should adjust your playstyle and see how it works out).

2) Why should I give up my strategies and let others become better than me?

The better the people around you are, the faster your gameplay levels up. You learn more from losing than winning. (No, its not my excuse for losing all the time )

3) How long is the survey?

	Not very long really.

4) How much detail do you want?

Any amount really. If you don't want to write too much, thats fine with me. A short answer would be fine by me. If you want to write a guide in the comment boxes, I'm not stopping you either. They will be used in my book and I will give you credit for it if you want me to (i'll definately credit the whole of dustloop but include your name/username on dustloop if you want me to be more specific)

5) Why is there no THANK YOU page you ***?

Cuz im poor and i need to upgrade my account if i want to include a thank you page.

On that note.... THANKS FOR READING AND TAKING THIS SURVEY!!

No matter how much I try I cannot pull this move off consistently. Regardless of whether I do the input insanely fast or take my time, do a sloppy input or a careful one, and alter the timing between each "portion" of the input, I cannot pull this move off 100%. I'll do the input the exact same way three times and twice it'll work and once it won't.

Is there some trick to pulling this move off? It almost seems random to me. How many frames do I have to complete the input once I start it, etc.?

I'm doing it on a pad, by the way. Any feedback is appreciated, the move is useless unless I can get it off at least 90-95% of the time.

Edit: Hm, it seems that so long as I make sure to do the last 46 cleanly, without any accidental extraneous inputs (such as 1 or 3) in between, my success rate goes up to about 80%, regardless of how sloppily I do the rest of the input. Still not perfect, though.
