<p>Axl Low:
Range -  What is normally done in this matchup is to stay full screen away from Axl.  He can not touch you from here, and it's at your advantage to sit back and throw items. You must ofcourse keep him from moving in, so don't be lead into the corner.
Don't Jump In on Him. Axl has plenty of Anti-Air options that are very active.  You may use a knockdown as your opportunity to move in.

Okizeme - Axl has a shouryu, but it isn't low invulnerable, so go head and use the last hit of 2K as a low meaty on his wakeup.  Ofcourse leave your other usual Okizeme options open for consideration.  You'll pretty much want to always combo into a knockdown until you can get that winning damage, otherwise Axl will recover and have advantage over you at that range.

Baiken:
You'll want to stay at max range, in order to stay away from her alpha counters.  If she throws out her grapple, you can crouch walk forward under it, to get in a 5S or 2S (if you're close enough).  You can even stuff her grappling hook with 5S if you chose to do so.  Basically you're going to play your standard item throwing, range poking Faust game.  Your safest bet is to stay full screen away from Baiken.  Make sure you move in every so often with jump Drill cancel j.HS (or just j.HS), so she backs off.  You don't want to compete in the air with Baiken if you're near, because her j.S will HURT and leads to a huge counter hit combo.  Play it safe in this match.
Counters to Baiken's moves:

HS alpha counter:
Since you're going to stay far enough away from most of Baiken's counters, you really only have to worry about her HS counter (the one where to flies through the air, attempting to cross you up.
Solution - attack with max range 5S and wait to gattling into 2K when you see her alpha counter start to activate.  At the farthest range of 5S, this will counter hit her everytime, giving you plenty of time to follow up your with your standard B&amp;B.  You also have the option of canceling into 5D since the startup is invincible.


Eddie:
As always with Eddie, you are not going to out poke him,  his 2s is dangerous. As before, Faust's ideal range (just within 5s distance), is right where Eddie can punish you with invite hell.  With the new Eddie attacks he can lock you down in one spot, and he also has a grab that will hold you, leaving you unable to block.  Getting stuck in a block string now is very dangerous because they can lead into an unblockable.

You also have to be careful because the Eddie meter is misleading since he now has a FB that gives full Eddie meter.

Little Eddie's new slash attack is HUGE, very similiar shape to normal Eddie's forward HS, but it activates much quicker.  
Eddie players can do it when they expect you to use 2.HS, and you definently don't want to eat a counter from this, so be careful.

So how do you deal with little Eddie.  Ideally you want to make your offensive against Eddie before the Eddie meter fills all the way up.  If little Eddie is already out you can easily be mislead into hitting little Eddie first and eating normal Eddie's attacks.  You can get rid of little Eddie with 2.HS,2.P when he is recoverying and is far away from main Eddie, but your opponent might not conviently let that happen.  You might be tempted into super jumping and throwing a bomb bag out of desperation, but this is often a useless and bad response since Eddie can just run and position himself right under you waiting for you to fall.  Air dashing also isn't so great in this situation because Eddie can run much faster than you and just wait for you to come down.

What I do is watch for Eddie running in one direction and super jump air dash in the opposite direction. You can then just land and play Faust's keep away game, and/or FDC bomb bag on the way down to keep Eddie at bay.  Bomb bag usually isn't so good for retreating situations though, so watch out.

Eddie also now has much better control over his flight.  He can quickly move back in forward, up and down.  So you have to be more careful in the air.  j.HS is still good against it, but just not as abusable.

If you're confident, you can sit back and keep Eddie from jump by falling j.HS, or jump drill cancel, HS.  He'll desperately want to do "invite hell" at that range, so you can setup a counter hit fairly easily.  You can use 2HS(counter) into pull in this situation.

Zappa:
I'll get to him trust me, but first I would to confirm if Zappa can actually chose the summon based on the timer.  According to fubarduck, anytime Zappa summons, whether it be forced or hitstun based, it is determined by the second digit on the timer.  Here is how it works.
0: Sword
1: Dog
2: Ghosts
3-9: Random

<p>I've noticed alot of people who've been the most active posters on the Faust forum are relatively new to playing Guilty Gear, so I've started this thread to assist people on an aspect they're probally missing out on.  </p><p>

I would like to assemble a list of the most useful okizeme, so called meaty attacks.  You're welcome to post your own suggestions, criticisms, or additions that may be included here.</p><p>

I'll start by posting 1 useful okizeme a day with several possible followups, and hopefully I'll complete it soon, unless someone beats me to it.</p><p>

Useful vocabulary:  Drill Cancel (canceling j.2k with Faustless Defence), Mettakiri (Faust's command throw [214 HS]</p><p>
 Aerial ( a combo leading from any move that launches your opponent int othe air [2D, 2D&gt;2S&gt;5K, etc] )</p><p>
</p><p>
<strong>2K:</strong>  a 3 hit attack.  Only first hit can be jump canceled, but all of them can gattling.</p><p>

Follow ups:</p><p>
&gt;2P&gt;2S&gt;2D&gt;JC airial B&amp;B [ may want to K&gt;j.D for knockdown]</p><p>
  - the 2P is a link after third hit of 2K</p><p>

<strong>Drill Cancel Kick:</strong>  Considered Faust's best overhead. Its quick, leads to high damaging combos or knockdowns, and difficult to react against.  Against opponents who adjust to this, you have the option of Drill canceling low, landing then 2D, normal throw, or Mettakiri.</p><p>
<em>Note:</em>  You must not do Drill Cancel too close to Millia, otherwise you will land before your jump cancel activates.  This is because Millia's crouching hitbox is very low, and thus most of these followups will be very difficult to do on her, or just impossible.  What you may want to do is just land after the Drill Cancel Kick, then start your followup from there.</p><p>

<p>In case anybody still reads these forums, I've got a question.

A friend of mine insists that Faust's 2K has gaps in between the active frames of each of the hits on 2K. Now, according to the frame data, there is no such gap.

From what I've seen, generally, gaps between active frames are listed as (X) with X being the number of frames of gap.

tl;dr: is there any gap between the active frames of the 3 hits in Faust's 2K?

<p>I just got GG:AC yesterday, so I'm very new, but this game seems very deep and interesting.
These are very newbish questions, and I apologize, but I could not find the answers anywhere.

I have a few problems. First, I read the entire dustloop guide, but the advanced techniques aren't really helpful because I still don't understand the flow of the game totally. For example, what to do in basic situations, like when being attacked by a combo or waking up from knockdown. What can I do, besides play more, to acquire basic GG skills. I don't think it's much good knowing how to FRC if I'm constantly sitting going "what do I do now?". I know there's an okizeme guide, and I plan on learning that, but there are still many situations I really can't deal with. I'm going to go watch a few videos and see if that helps.

Secondly, I read the Faust 101 guide but I'm a bit confused. Most of my matches in arcade devolve into me spamming S and 2H, and I have yet to get past more than 5 levels in the arcade.

Long range:
41236K - If I'm doing this correctly, it's a scalpel stab. How should I follow this up? From what I've read, after the scalpel stab you can do 236P&gt;236P&gt;236P to pull them in, hit them up, and then hit them in the air, but I can't pull it off. The best I can get is to hit them up in the air, and that is mostly with just mashing 236P. How do I get the timing down? Is this the best followup?

Drill Cancel j.HS (punishes low air-dashes): Does this entry mean that the drill cancel combos into the j.H? Can it be used offensively, or just to punish low air-dashes?

Mid-Range: far.S, 2HS: I've had great success against low level computers just mashing these two moves. They seem to do pretty good damage for a single normal. They both seem to be blocked standing, so what differences do they have and how should I decide to use one or the other?

Close-Range: Throw, Mettakiri: Is it just me, or do I need to be very close to use these? Whenever someone is a bit too close for the mid-range options and I run in to throw/command throw, I get hit. What am I doing wrong, and how do I set them up so I don't get hit?

How do I punish predictability? For example, I'm only using 6P as my anti-air. How would a live opponent punish me only using one anti-air? What is the reason for mixing up 6P with others, such as 5K?

I looked into the combo thread and saw some monsters requiring lots of RCing and tension. What are some easy, low or no tension, low RCing combos I can learn for "bread and butter", both air and ground, just to get me started with Faust? Would I use them at close range as a substitute for throws?

What advanced techniques (RCing/Faultless defense/etc) should I learn first?

After mastering the gameplan in the Faust 101 thread and in the okizeme thread, what are other standard Faust techniques/moves I should I learn to improve my game?

Is it ever worth it to use Force Breaks or Overdrives, or should I just save my tension for RCing?</p>

I recently played a slayer and i think that Fausts is the better one in this match.  any opinions or does the slayer i played just suck?    in the match i used alot of standing slash, to hit him while he used his dashing.


I also played against a good I'no and lost i couldn't do much under i'no's  note pressure except use a DAA  and then rush in,     but i still lost.

Just any info on which characters he's good against and which ones he is not good against.</p>

Close-Range: 2P,5P, Throw, <em><strong>Mettakiri</strong></em>.</p><p>

Basics: 6P, 5K, 2K</p><p>
6P: On counter-hit, increased recovery time for enemy, cancels into item throw.</p><p>
5K: On counter-hit, Blow-back Wall-stick effect, cancels into item throw</p><p>

2S: good against Sol's low to the ground j.D</p><p>
2K: works well against Baiken's j.HS, May's j.2HS, and Potem's falling "butt" attack</p><p>
