In neutral, Liz's strongest tools are IADB jB, Magarudyne, 2B and 5A. 5A has a deceptively long hitbox! These tools actually work really well against Chie so abuse the hell out of them. Chie's 5C can be deadly, but just like Liz's 5C you can prediction roll it and punish its recovery. Just don't underestimate how fast Chie's ground run speed is.

If Chie knocks Elizabeth down midscreen with sweep and attempts to go for her normal persona oki, Elizabeth can backdash out of it with 100% accuracy. I shit you not. It won't work if Chie is right on top of Liz when she sweeps, but the number of situations this happens in is really small. In order for Chie to reliably be close enough to get oki, she has to end her combo in AOA - essentially, she needs an air juggle. So as long as you DO NOT LET THIS BITCH HIT YOU IN THE AIR, you can backdash her oki. This completely changes the match-up.

If Chie is going crazy on you with 5A spamming, you can instant block and counterthrow her out of it. Once you show her this, she has to go for 5A > 2A stuff or other frame traps. Her 5A pressure is not invincible!

If Chie tries to use meteor super in Elizabeth's face, Elizabeth can punish it guaranteed with 100% accuracy by doing this: 5A > jB > jA > jc > jA > jB > jC. As long as Chie is getting hit by buttons, her meteors will explode the moment they enter the screen. This combo keeps hitting Chie constantly so you avoid all of her meteors. So, if you're rushing her shit down and you expect her to do something then briefly pause. If she does F-Action, quickly counterhit punish. If she does God Fist super, roll through and punish. If she does meteors, do this. She has to respect liz on wake-up!

  This thread is for posting any and all combos for Elizabeth. This thread will be updated continuously over time so all contributions are welcome. Elizabeth has far too many combo variations and so I will aim to keep the combo list small and concise to avoid overwhelming you guys. The combos will only serve as a guide and overtime when you get used to them you'll be able to decide for yourself which combos best fit you. If you would like to look for further combos, please be sure to look at the combo videos in the video section. Remember that Elizabeth does not gain any SP from combos but accumulates SP through her Invigorate ability. Please also note the following:

  2.) Magarudyne Input Tips

  D.Garu combos have different followup timings depending on what character you are fighting against but it would help if you did a smooth half circle back motion starting from 9 to 2. For clarity, please follow the information here in the Magarudyne section.

  [*]Against Akihiko, Yosuke, Naoto, Elizabeth, Labrys, and Shadow Labrys you can just hold [2] during the D.Garu. Input 2A ASAP when you land and continue the combo.

  [*]For Teddie, you you go 8>2 at a 4:6 ratio, I.E 40% of the move is [8], 60% is [2]. They rate this as pretty easy. Example

  [*]For Aigis, it's the same as the input for Teddie, but it is a little more strict. Example

  [*]For Chie, you do [8~2] at a 50/50 ratio, but this is pretty difficult to do and will take some time to get used to. Example

  [*]Mitsuru and Yu are also slightly awkward, and it is highly recommended that you use the [neutral~2 method], but you can do 8>2 if you find that easier.

  [*]For everyone else you let the D.Garu go up in neutral and then hold [2] about halfway through.

  As you can see, Magarudyne loops can be fairly tricky and unstable on certain characters. However, if Liz gets a fatal counter hit (usually with fear), she has a much easier loop that works on every character for slightly less damage: 2B > jump cancel forward > jB > 236D > Hold 2. In the corner, she can jump cancel back after 2B instead. [video PENDING]

There are two things that make this match-up really hard:

1) Gunshots. Elizabeth can't explicitly deal with it because Magnetic Blast isn't fast enough to punish on reaction. You literally have nothing to disuade its use so approach patiently, there's no reliable way around it.

2) F-Action. While usually bad in most match-ups this shit is retarded against Elizabeth, but there ARE ways around it. Maragidyne is made useless in neutral and after knockdowns, so don't use it outside of combos (same for B laser). This plus gunshot zoning means that you should always keep Naoto within mid-close range if you can help it. The main problem then is that Naoto needs to be respected in pressure far more than normal because she'll break your persona (or hit you) whenever it's triggered. Here are some mix-ups that I've brainstormed to help get around this:

* 5CC > 214A. This dissuades her from auto-pilot DPing after every block 5CC, and it's air unblockable if she jumps. Two birds with one stone. The main problem is that its hit confirms are weak.

* 5CC > 2C makes the persona eat the F-Action follow-up. At close range, this gives Liz the chance to quickly dash 5CC for a counterhit. Note that 5D vs. F-Action will push Naoto too far to punish.

* 5AA > 9 > A+C > 6 IAD > jA cross-up. If she tries to F-Action through the holes in Liz's block string pressure, this will make the follow-up whiff and leave her vulnerable to CH 5CC > 2C.

* Baiting. Least favorite option because it's pure prediction and therefore unreliable.

A well-spaced 5B on his wakeup will severely limit his options due to the fact it isn't effected by his R-action.

Now to the gimmicks!

Stuff I have found:

- If the enemy is in your combo and you're about to end it in the corner. Instead of doing the hard knockdown with a b.Bufu x2 > J.C you can attempt to end with a SB.Zio > 5C > J.D really quickly. Since a lot a people attempt to just tech whenever they're in a combo, this will catch most people. You can then wait for the wall bounce into 5B > 5C > 2C > B.Bufu > SB.Agi > 5B to bring them back into the corner.

- When you catch someone with your 5C pressure we all know you can cancel after the first hit into a 5D. However if you delay it right when thanatos does the dash forward of the 2nd hit of the 5C you can cancel right in front of the opponent into a 5D. Making it look like thanatos was about to hit them and making most people reactively wait for the 2nd hit before getting grabbed. This obviously doesn't work well against people who mash 5A or 2A against thanatos.

- Since a lot of people try to mash 2A against 5C a good followup is 2C because it has super armor. Everybody knows this, but just putting it out there for people who might be newer.

- You can use Elizabeth's Mind charge as a semi invincible super into Ghastly Wail for free punishes on some characters. Namely Mitsuru.
