So I started a big custom BGM project on Gamefaqs in the coming months before Full Boost released, and it continued even after the game dropped to include over 100 songs. As of today's update, which added the project's first AGE songs, the topic was unfortunately struck down. It was getting some fair attention, and I had anticipated to find the project a new home eventually, but bleh... I was wondering if dedicating a topic to it here would be possible? I'm unsure of dustloop's legal moderation in comparison to Gamefaqs', and whether or not rules care about the benign nature of the project. I noticed some other BGM topics, though they lack any vocal tracks and are more concise, so I'm a bit wary of the chances (despite the fact that starting this topic anyway makes that somewhat moot). I won't put up any tracklist details or the like as of yet, but the project itself is in my signature if song choice matters. Everything is looped 10 minutes pretty cleanly with 2 or 3 intentional exceptions. Granted, I don't have my change-log anymore so it's really just a tracklist and notes on those exceptions that would be here...

I also had the related question of if anyone is familiar with the organization of music listed in-game, but if this topic is a no-go then I'll probably shoot over to the dedicated question thread for that.

Hey guys, Shtkn has given us the OK to add Gundam to the dustloop wiki .

I've gone ahead and transfered most of the DX data over to show you guys as a template: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Gundam_Double_X_(EXVSFB)

To contribute, check the code from the DX page and use it as a template.

To create a page, go to http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mobile_Suit_Name_(EXVSFB) and edit it. Please report here when you've done so so we can keep track of what's going on. At a certain point we'll have a navigation sidebar etc linking all of them together and categorizing them under costs, etc. We'll also have mechanics and system pages up at some point in time.

[*]Extreme Burst

[*]There are now two versions of Extreme Burst you can choose from when you select your suit - Assault (A) and Blast (B) (See below for complete explanation)

[*]You gain less meter when you die, much more the case for higher costs. For 3000 suits, you get ~15% as opposed to 40% for dying. It's very noticeable for 2500's as well. 2000 and 1000 suits gain about the same as before.

[*]In other words, there's less of a difference in meter gain between costs.

[*]You gain more meter if you have less max health, and vice versa (This difference is extremely minute, though)

[*]You gain less boost when you activate extreme burst

[*]Full Bursts give you more boost back, making them more viable

[*]Offense and Defense scaling numbers from being in awakening is now per-suit

[*]Also suits that had different scaling numbers in different modes now have the same in both.

[*]Damage - overall proration is slightly less severe, and guts ratings (dealing and taking different damage rates based on current health) is more noticeable - about the same level as NEXT

[*]Overall momentum preservation got improved greatly. The viability of fuwasteps and fuwafuwa is much higher than in the last game. This is also combined with the fact that overall guidance is lower.

[*]Many 2000 cost suits got slight HP buffs (+20HP usually)

[*]When you get shot down, there's a small part of the screen of what your ally is doing

[*]Overall stage brightness is higher,

[*]More recovery on landing at 50%+ boost.

[*]Extreme gauge system overhaul

[*]Horizontal momentum increased

[*]Two types of Stuns: Light stuns and heavy stuns. Heavy stuns knock down after the stun wears away, such as Pressure. Light stuns cause the opponent to recovery immediately afterwards, rather than ground crumple.

[*]Suits that did not have Extreme Attacks now have one, and many suits now have multiple versions (different inputs)

New Extreme Burst Mechanics In-Depth

You now must choose between Assault Burst (Red) or Blast Burst (Blue) AFTER you've chosen your suit at the character select screen. You cannot change it within the match. The way you burst is identical. The difference between Assault and Blast is only in the buffs you get when you are in awakening.

Universal Burst Benefits

The following are regained just like in EXVS Vanilla, but the specific values vary depending on Assault or Burst (specifics further down):

Boost gauge refills, Ammo refills, Mobility improves, Damage improved, Defense modifier improved, Reload speed improved, Bullet Travel Speed improved

The following are the same as EXVS Vanilla:

Your moves have -10% down value

If you do a Full Burst while being hit, you tech out of it and have some invincibility frames (Same as Vanilla)

Can Perform Extreme Attacks (Same as Vanilla)

While in Awakening, you cannot gain Extreme meter, and if you die, your Extreme Gauge goes to 0 (Same as Vanilla)

NEW: When you Full Burst, you can still be hit by any shots that are already hitting you regardless of invincibility, to some degree. This situation rarely happens but it exists nonetheless and it is not a bug. Working as intended Kappa

Assault Burst - Good for suits that rush down opponents

Half bursts refill 70% boost, Full gives you Full Boost

Big damage bonus modifier, small defensive modifier

Movement speed greatly improved, boost consumption slightly improved

Red lock range slightly improved

Weapon reload rate moderately improved

Melee pursuit speed / distance drastically improved

Does not deplete your Boost or Extreme Gauge when doing Extreme Attacks

Small boost penalty for Defensive Bursting (20%)

Awakening time is shorter than Blast (Full lasts about 12 seconds)

Because Assault gives a lot of boost, this is the easiest kind of Burst type to use if you're familiar with fundamental Burst timings from vanilla. Overall a very compatible type for front players, the offensive benefits not only help melee suits, but make melees very viable even for ranged suits. Thought it lasts less time, this can be somewhat of an advantage in the sense that you have less of a risk of dying or getting hit while in awakening, making it effectively less risky if you're using it for the one time boost refill primarily. Since using your Extreme Attack doesn't consume all your boost or extreme meter, you can use it really easily, and if you have a suit that has one with good recovery, you can use it almost like a normal move, which is why awakening lasts a lot less in Assault.

Reload speed drastically improved (About 2x normal)

Firing attacks that cause vernier (including turn around shots) can be step cancelled (there are some exceptions)

Removes the start on Boost Dash, letting you immediately sidestep from it

Boost and Extreme Gauges go to 0 when performing Extreme Attacks

Large boost penalty for Defensive Bursting (35%)

Awakening time is longer than Assault (Full lasts around 16 seconds)

A good burst type for when you're not necessarily trying to win an immediate exchange, but are trying to press an advantage or create one. Because the effects last longer, it's also good for suits that have special effects during awakening (00, ZZ, etc). Though you gain less boost when initially activating, because of the improved boost consumption efficiency and the ability to sidestep weapons, your mobility as a whole is better than Assaults (aside from Melee performance).

Ok so, been away for a while and forgot to come back and check dustloop, life got busy or other things going on ect.

So it was a thing I discussed with Kirrin, Brett and others on Fuwacast as a simple thing of wants/hopes for units(new or returning)

So with most of the stuff between Full Boost or Maxi Boost lately (Hyperion, Dreadnaught and Blitz)
My list is slowly growing shorter but here is my list.

Akatsuki(with both packs, like it was in Gundam vs Gundam NEXT)
Nobel
Sandrock(TV version prefered)
Sword Calamity

Because in a way even my request of Strike Rouge Ootori was answered(someone from Bamco must've been reading my mind lol)

So what are yours?

Pre-registration

By pre-registering, your team is guaranteed to be on the bracket and properly seeded (by region, skill, etc). This gives you an advantage in the bracket, as compared to last-minute entrants. I will also be taking pool assignment requests on a first come first serve basis if you have game / schedule conflicts, etc.

We will be announcing the pool assignments on Day 1, meaning you'll know which pool and what time to show up. This means less waiting for you, and an easier work flow for us. If you are using a DLC suit and you pre-reg before July 13th, we will guarantee that suit is available for you.

Please use the following form to preregister: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1bZLHZYtufmVE-17fgSD51t2TzwOh71srCmzB38EVREw/viewform?usp=send_form

We are no longer taking pre-reg via forum post. Please use the above link to pre-reg, thank you!

DLC

This year, DLC makes up a very large quantity of playable suits. We are not banning any DLC, but not all DLC is guaranteed to be available.

The following suits will tentatively be guaranteed on every console: Banshee Norn, Sandrock, EX-S, and Re-GZ. If you wish to play other DLC suits, we recommend pre-registering.
Hey guys,

I've been meaning to do a post about this for awhile now, but have been too lazy recently haha.

Anyways I just wanted to give a small breakdown of the gundam scene in Australia - mainly for posterity, so that future gundam players can look at this post and see that we did/do have people who love the game and play it.

Events

Firstly, our most recent event was at a LAN held in Monash University in Melbourne 1 month ago:

We had 6 setups, so that 2 can rotate off and change controls etc (also we just don't have that many people unfortunately). It was a great event which consisted mainly of casuals and a few veterans mingling and just having fun. We ran a Shuffle and a Team Hold tourney, although they weren't that high level. However, it was interesting to see how some of our veterans tried to play and carry their weaker team mates

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9q6Hl6x0R8 -one of the closer matches between V + 1.75 vs Sin + Travis

Winners received Gunplas for their efforts!

This was our first ever proper 2v2 LAN event, and I can say that it was a great success. The amount of work required and preparation and backup plans we had in place all came together and just allowed the event to run smoothly. We weren't too ambitious with what we wanted to have going and I think that helped a lot. I'd like to personally thank Sin and rdmx who helped to transport players, equipment etc.

Scene

At the moment we have two groups. A Chinese speaking group and an English group (I'd love to find some Japanese players who play this game, but unfortunately the ones I know do not play any more or have returned to Japan, if anyone can help that'd be great). In total I'd estimate around 30 players at most, some on and off.

The Chinese group based on QQ plays rather religiously, having lobbies almost every night and such. Our English group is based in Skype and we've recently had a few casuals together after a long time where people were busy or were not too interested in playing.

Level of play:

Our english group is still very new and casual, we basically just play whatever we want, and not every person is interested in improving or playing the game seriously, which often leads to hilarious moments, and fast games from overcosts. Fun!

QQ group is a lot more advanced, where even shuffles are a lot more disciplined which results in some very fun and intense games.

Team hold unfortunately has stagnated, due to some internal issues (drama). I'd say watching streams and games from last year we were definitely not too bad skillwise, but now that NA has really gotten down to playing team hold, they are probably far above us now.

We had some players who went to Japan and also got rekt, and played online with CN/HK players such as King of Heartszz, Crossbonexp etc. Hopefully we'll get better!

Future:

To be honest right now our community has been fractured and I kinda feel sad about that. Partly due to different modes of communication but also due to personal drama and etc. However with the new patch coming out, I believe that a revived interest in the game will keep it going for at least a bit more.

In terms of competitive play, I am working on hosting an online tourney, and maybe introducing a points system for placings, to encourage participation and high level play.

In summary: it's hard to say. However, I do know that some people love the game and the franchise and will always continue to play the game.

Firstly, shoutouts to weuk8u for running the QQ group and in general being friendly and fun to play with, you've done some great work. Secondly, to rdmx who although is very timid and nervous, still goes through things when I really want him to. You're awesome dude. Lastly shoutouts to my m8 and Ultimaelvez who taught me how to play, and never quits or rages on me LOL keep at it /no1

Most of all, thanks for reading this guys! Any questions and I'd love to answer them!

(Wed/Sat)

Full Boost is here! Any new players that want to join an event where you can dive in and play with others of similar skill, here's your opportunity.

This isn't meant to be a training camp sort of thing, but rather a relaxed environment where you can mash out robots however you want. Try a new suit! Practice with one you're comfortable with! It doesn't matter, just as long as you're having fun doing it. You might improve, you might just get your butt kicked, but it'll all be in good company

There's no real criteria for joining. I'd like to think the EXVS community isn't one that sees a beginners lobby and thinks "time to pown some newbz!!!" so if you think you're bad at the game (like I know I am), you should drop by!

Lobby name: NA Beginners

Host location: Southeast US

Time: Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9PM to 12AM EST

On Saturdays the lobby will be a Team Shuffle lobby. This is a perfect opportunity to try out new suits and get a feel for one you like and want to get better with.

On Wednesdays the lobby will be a Team Hold lobby. Here's a chance to develop teamwork/unit synergy with someone. Whether it's your regular partner or someone you've never played with before, it's a good chance to familiarize yourself with the flow of matches and hone your skills! Note that idling in the team lobby will not be tolerated -- If a team spot is open and someone isn't joining it, they will be removed from the lobby.

This is a closed lobby event, so if you want in send a message to WeeabooMode on PSN. I'll be streaming it on my Twitch channel for the amusement of those better than me. If there's a major problem with delay, I'll do my best to remove the problem players. This is meant to be a relatively low latency lobby. We've had some success with EU-region players, so if they've got decent connections the lobby will be open to them as well.

I'm starting to get really sick of seeing this every time I log on, to the extent that I pretty much just don't play the game if there isn't an EU private room up at any given time. I don't know what you guys love so much about red ping and lag spikes but this is just a really god damn stupid idea, neither the EU nor US communities are so small as to warrant mushing them together like we're still playing EXVS vanilla. If it's quiet on the EU front I'll sometimes make an EU/USE room, which usually works alright (save for the odd eastern european players we have), but when you let the entire of US and the entire of EU into one room you might as well just go join a JP room because every fucking game is heavy orange or red. I'm actually partially convinced some of you guys are so used to this shit that you think it's normal, and there are definitely a few players who deliberately abuse the lag to play YOLO bullshit suits as well. Let's cut out this stupid behaviour and go back to playing real games based around skill rather than based around who can better navigate a 10 frame input delay.
