	I have a few questions I wanted to ask about Millia. mainly just some combo stuff.

	So Millia's BnB's are anything that can lead into her 2H&gt; j.S&gt; j.D&gt; IAD&gt; j.S&gt; j.H then her oki. But I've also seen I believe was 2H&gt; j.K&gt; j.S&gt; j.D&gt; IAD&gt; j.S&gt; j.H then oki (There might have been a j.P at some point I can't remember right now). So I wanted to know what was the purpose of the combo and when I should use it? I've also heard and read that a lot of Millia's combos are character specific and such (and it seems they're mostly combos that involve the pin?) and I was wandering what are her actual universal combos. I saw that there was a combo discovery thread but wasn't an actual combo forum like others on Dustloop so I'm kinda confused on how and when certain combos are useful.

<p>Basic Oki Setup:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul><li>(Starter), 2D, (214K if far) 236H
<ul><li>Basic Setup off of knockdown. From here you have a couple of options:
<ul><li>6K: Hits High, can be converted into a combo to knockdown. Special cancelable. With no meter you can go to 236S in the corner, with meter you can go into 236236S into a combo.</li>
<li>5K: Hits mid. As a meaty it prevents jump ins and can be chained into 2k for a low or 6k for an overhead. Can be special/jump cancelled as well.</li>
<li>5D: Hits high as all dusts do. Can be converted into a combo into knockdown midscreen with up follow-up and into a combo into knockdown with side followup in corner.</li>
<li>2K: Hits low, fast and chains into itself. Can be used as a meaty option against Vapor Thrust. If the opponent is really close to death in the corner you can use this to OTG them.</li>
<li>2S: Hits low from far range. Slower than 2K but has further range</li>
<li>2D: Hits low. Causes Knockdown. Good range. Even though it leads to knockdown you have better options that lead to damage and combos.</li>
<li>214P: Iron Savior. Hits low, has a deceptive startup since millia goes into the air first. Keeps going on whiff, which can catch backdashers. Can be YRC'd to lead to a 50/50 with j.k and 2S.</li>
<li>j.236P: Bad moon. One of the fastest overheads when done in a tiger knee motion (2369P). </li>
<li>214K: Roll. Can be used for cross ups. Only use once you have conditioned your opponent. </li>
<li>214K~K: Roll Again. If the initial roll is done close enough this can be done to create a fake cross-up</li>
<li>214K~D: Roll into dust. Occaisionally catches people.</li>
<li>j.214k: Turbofall. If done immediately off the ground you can cross the opponent up and mix it up again with 2k and 6k</li>
<li>j.k: Instant jumping kick. May whiff on some crouchers (Testing needed)</li>
<li>Chroming Rose: Millia install. Get additional pressure/mixups/combos.</li>

Sadly there hasn't been that many info on her Xrd counterpart during the loketests.</p><p>

Besides her new moves and new super, changes during the loketests were:</p><p>

- only one version of Silent Force (S version)</p><p>
- 6K being considered an air move (still has to be confirmed from what frame this would actually occur)</p><p>
- no airdash cancelable normals (has to be confirmed)</p><p>
- she has somehow retained her FB Longinus (you can see that in the latest trailer ArcSys released)</p><p>

	Think my biggest problem in this matchup is I play Faust's game too much. I don't move around items as efficiently as I could. Not sure though how to do this better. Mini-Faust in particular gives me a lot of problems.

	I also did a lot of full run-up to go under f.S and fishing rod, but I failed to mix it up with iad to get around 2H so I ran into them a lot.

	First of all I would like to thank anyone that has posted and advice or tips on this board. It great to see everyone sharing and being helpful. Since than I would like to say that I can do all combos with her and have no execution problems besides secret garden and the<strong> GroundGrab&gt;5k&gt;jK&gt;jS&gt;jD&gt;IAD&gt;jS&gt;2HS</strong>.  I've only been able to see people do that combo on the fightstick without having to <strong>RC the grab</strong>. Can anyone confirm if this is only a fightstick combo? I cannot do it on the pad for the life of me.
</p>

<p>
	Right now I'm having lots of problems applying pressure to create openings. I see a lot of top players get in to the BnB by starting it of with <strong>2K (ex:DASH 2K&gt;2S&gt;2HS&gt;ECT...) </strong>I did notice that this does ruin the dmg on the combo. Also, I can do this set up in practice but every time I try on a player I get thrown. Heck lets just say that I get thrown a lot..... it sucks.

	Also my OKI is just bad, both neutral OKI and Corner OKI. My corner OKI is never meaty enough, and 7 times out of ten I get hit out of my 236HS set up. This happens even more midscreen.

	I've  notice I don't have time to throw a disk, they usualy just mash out. I've had limited success with YRC &gt; DASH 2s&gt;combo ECT

<p>
	I've been working on integrating jump install combos from 2K cl.S starters into my play for damage, burst safety, and increased corner carry.  So far all I've really found consistently is that 2H sj. makes your launcher burst safe, and you can jump install 6K x Disc cl.S 2H sj. to get the full j.SD dj.SH air combo on certain characters.  I've found you can do sj.SPKD dj.SH as your air combo but burst-safe solutions are character specific (and this one isn't).  What has everyone else found?
</p>

<p>
	2K cl.S JI 2H &gt; sj.PKSD djIAD.SH from LK elsewhere on Dustloop, on Sol, though I don't know if this is just a JI combo or one designed to be burst safe. 
</p>

<p>Hello, I am  complete n00b to guilty gear. I've played Accent core and many other versions of it in Ps2 and played Blaze Blu as well, but could never get passed the button mashing phase.... I've always liked Millia and always wanted to learn to play her but I am clueless on how to even start learning her.</p>

<div><u><strong><span>Move property changes:</span></strong></u></div>

<div><strong>Turbofall</strong>: Causes a large trail of roses to cover your descent, putting your enemy into blockstun or punishing them if they try to attack you.  Be careful not to land in throw range.</div>

<div><strong>Run</strong>: Roses activate every 6 frames of your run, beginning on frame 13.  Great way to lock down enemies who take to the air to avoid you when CR is active.  Also serves as a shield of sorts when running at the enemy, as they are fairly likely to run into a rose if they stick a hitbox out.</div>

<div><strong>Iron Saviour</strong>: Same idea as running, a trail of roses appears behind you.  Also provides you with a way to hit people while you're moving, but leaves you open to being hit as well.  Haircar also goes from -13 on block / knockdown on hit, to +21 on block and +33 on hit (in corner).  There is a small gap between the haircar hitting and the rose appearing, though.</div>

<div><strong>Bad Moon</strong>: Your primary go-to for Chroming Rose oki.  With Chroming Rose activated, TK Bad Moon goes from -15 on block / knockdown on hit, to +15 on block / +39 on hit.  This lets you set up repeated TKBM for lockdown, and you can opt for Iron Saviour for a mixup at any time.  Both options covert to full combo.</div>

<div><strong>Throw</strong>: After throwing the enemy with CR active, 3 roses appear and launch the enemy allowing for followup.  Your max damage option from this is to simply loop TK Bad Moon over and over.  From a full timer of Chroming Rose, you can deal roughly 160 damage on Sol, which is pretty impressive for a throw combo.  Or for a traditional air combo, you have more than enough time to do a running 6H and go to the standard corner carry combo from there.  For a combination of both, I would recommend doing 2 reps of TKBM (3 reps is tougher, as j.K will no longer combo to j.S), then converting to a corner combo from there.  This nets ~130 damage and a corner knockdown.</div>

<div><strong>Roll -&gt; Digitalis</strong>: At the correct spacing (round start and a bit farther back), Digitalis and its followup rose becomes a true blockstring, turning this from -8 on block to +5 on block.  You can attempt to repeat this sequence if you have the enemy scared, as it does good chip damage and is pretty low risk.</div>

<div><strong><u><span>Uses for combos:</span></u></strong></div>

<div>Bad Moon Loop:</div>
<div>- Your bread and butter, max damage tensionless Chroming Rose combo (~175 on Sol).  In close range, simply repeat TKBM ad infinitum.  Since you get pushed out slowly, after the first couple TKBMs, you can start doing normal jump BMs to continue; this will often knockdown as well, as the last rose should appear low to the ground.</div>

<div>Meatier Secret Garden:</div>
<div>- Any combo ending in Silent Force, land, backdash, 5K xx 214H.  Backdash activates a rose, which combos after 5K and causes a knockdown, allowing for SG to hit more quickly and allows for Millia to recover faster.</div>

<div><u><strong><span>Uses for mixup:</span></strong></u></div>

<div>Run up 5Sc -&gt; TKBM/2S/Haircar</div>
<div>- Allows for a 50/50 that lets you combo afterwards for no meter.  If you choose to go to TKBM, you can repeat the mixup since TKBM is inescapable and +15 on block; knowing this, your option should be TKBM the majority of the time.  Just don't get too predictable.</div>

<div>IAD, late AD (j.K &gt; j.S)</div>
<div>- This can be used after a blocked 2S when the enemy is cornered, or on its own after a corner knockdown -&gt; activate Chroming Rose.  The idea is to bait the enemy to pressing a button with the late IAD, and if they don't press anything, you get huge frame advantage from the roses that appear.</div>

<div><strong><u><span>Corner setups:</span></u></strong></div>

<div>Air combo to Silent Force knockdown -&gt; activate Chroming Rose -&gt; TK Turbofall</div>
<div>- Pin knockdown gives you the most setup time.  TK Turbofall floods them with roses as they get up, and you can begin TKBM/low mixup immediately.</div>

<div>Air combo to Silent Force knockdown -&gt; 236H Disc -&gt; activate Chroming Rose</div>
<div>- Similar to the above.  Leaves you at ~+10 to +15 frame advantage.  The great thing about this setup is that during the post-super freeze of Chroming Rose, the disc continues to appear while you and the enemy are still frozen.  This causes the disc to hit meaty, so the only danger here is a perfectly timed reversal throw, but all you have to do is avoid it and the disc will take care of the rest.</div>

<div>Air combo to Silent Force, 6H knockdown xx Chroming Rose -&gt; run up -&gt; backdash -&gt; run up -&gt; 5Sc</div>
<div>- A really versatile starter.  Builds lots of meter before the install, backdash can be used to bait wakeup mash / wakeup DP / wakeup jump.  Run up close 5Sc(2 hits) will antiair them if they tried to jump and got caught by the first rose, which you can confirm to a combo.  Otherwise you can confirm that they've blocked, and go to repeated TKBM/low mixup.</div>

<div><strong><u><span>Downsides to Chroming Rose:</span></u></strong></div>

<div>- Requires a knockdown to be most effective; using it at neutral is mostly a waste unless time is running low or the enemy has very low HP.</div>
<div>- Meter gain is nearly eliminated when Chroming Rose is active.</div>
<div>- Is absolutely not a comeback mechanic / can only be used when at advantage.  Avoid using it when you are losing, as it halts your momentum heavily (no meter gain, opponent gets burst back quickly during combos).</div>
<div>- Setups and execution need to be tight to make the most use of it.  Make sure you're able to TKBM with at least 80-90% accuracy, as you'll be doing this move - a lot.</div>

<p>So, I'm new to Guilty Gear.  I've been playing it for the last couple of weeks, experimenting with different characters, and I feel like I like the way the Millia plays, but I've been having a hard time finding what the community feels her Bread and Butters are, and when to use them.  Can anyone help me find out what I should be spending the most of my time practicing in Training?</p>

<p>So I come from a 3D fighting background (Virtua Fighter for life!), so the concept of punishment in a 2D fighting game is foreign to me. I don't quite understand how it works. </p>

<p>Either way, I've learned to use Millia's S&gt;HS as a quick 2/3 hit punishment for most things that are obviously punishable. Add in a RC and the best punishment I can come up with on some moves is S&gt;HS&gt;RC&gt;dash&gt;S&gt;2HS&gt;jc&gt;jS&gt;jHS. </p>

<p>Are there any other ways to punish with Millia? </p>

<p>Also, is there any advice on punishing specific moves like Sol's Bandit Ringer? </p>

<p>Here is a rundown of the changes that Millia has experienced going from GGXXAC+R to GGXrd. All frame data listed here is approximate and could be off by a frame, so it's meant to be an approximation with a ~1F margin of error.<br><br><strong><span>General</span></strong><br>
- Cosmetics: Has a new outfit, new idle stance, new animation for entering crouching stance, and new walking forwards / backwards animations. All other non-attack animations are mostly the same.<br>
- Has a unique animation for blocking overhead attacks (other characters do too)<br>
- Slower acceleration on forward run, this is more of a universal change though<br>
- Slower top speed when running. universal change<br>
- Jump is slightly floatier, again a universal change for most characters<br>
- Air dash: Startup: 5F -&gt; 6F. Slower movement seems like a universal change.<br>
- Backdash: Total time: 11F -&gt; 13F. As above. But maybe it was too good before.<br>
- Health: Reduced. Seems to be the lowest in the game when she is out of guts range (last 1/3 of health bar). Inside of guts range she has okay-ish health. Overall she may be lower than Chipp now though.<br><br><br><strong><span>Normals</span></strong><br><br><strong>5P</strong> - Startup: 7F (same). Looks the same as in +R (7/5/6), not #R (5/5/6). Haven't seen it chained into itself on whiff, so it probably can't be, which would make it identical to its AC and +R versions.<br><strong>5K</strong> - Startup: 5F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><strong>5Sc</strong> - Startup: 7F (same). Noticed a lot of players trying to use this to AA but getting CH out of it, seems like it has a much bigger hittable box now. <img src="https://www.forums.dustloop.com/uploads/emoticons/default_frown.gif" alt=":("><br><strong>5Sf</strong> - Startup: 7F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><strong>5H</strong> - Startup: 6F (same). Slightly different visual animation but effectively used the same way as in previous games.<br><strong>5D</strong> - Startup: 27F (same). Frame data looks like 27/4/20 which would make it around -10 on block (at a distance, so somewhat safe). Dust has a new animation - Millia rolls backwards in a low profile stance, and a rose pops up at her previous location and launches the enemy. Looks like it has potential as an evasive anti-air, or also as an anti-throw tactic where you run up to the enemy's face and dust to retreat / catch their throw mash attempt.<br><strong>6P</strong> - Startup: 7F -&gt; 9F. Still looks to have upper body invulnerability which makes it useful as anti-air. Also has a slight visual change to the animation.<br><strong>6K</strong> - Startup: 20F (to hit crouchers) -&gt; 22F. Slight speed nerf that makes this move much more blockable on reaction. Can still link a far 5S after hit, so likely still +8 on hit. <strong>Huge</strong> frame advantage on CH against crouching enemies, at least +18 - enough time to run up and land a 5Sc. Also still has lower body invulnerability during the flip.<br><strong>6H</strong> - Startup: 16F (same), 2nd hit startup: 24F. New animation - Millia now flips a large strand of hair at the enemy. Hits twice, 1st hit is jump cancellable and the 2nd hit is an overhead. Can use this to end air combos after Pin, but only in the corner since you need to hit with it when the enemy is very low to the ground for both hits to hit. Could possibly be used as a meaty attack by making only the 2nd part hit (overhead), but since it knocks down on ground hit, followups aren't possible.<br><br><strong>2P</strong> - Startup: 5F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><strong>2K</strong> - Startup: 5F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><strong>2S</strong> - Startup: 9F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><strong>2H</strong> - Startup: 11F (same). Untechable time is likely similar to #R and AC, and not shortened like in +R. Same as in previous games otherwise.<br><strong>2D</strong> - Startup: 13F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><br><strong>j.P</strong> - Startup: 5F (same). Looks the same as in previous games.<br><strong>j.K</strong> - Startup: 4F (same). Looks the same as in AC and onwards (level 2 attack).<br><strong>j.S</strong> - Startup: 10F (same as #R j.S).<br><strong>j.H</strong> - Startup: 8F (same as +R j.2H and #R j.H). Untechable time increased from +R, back to #R status where it knocks down at even a fairly high height (eg. after a complete dust combo). Looks like it hits a larger area, and plummets opponent downwards very quickly on hit. This means that ending a combo in j.H -&gt; Bad Moon is not usually possible, and even j.H -&gt; Pin doesn't work when Millia is too high up, since the Pin takes longer to travel to get to the enemy now.<br><strong>j.D</strong> - Startup: 17F -&gt; 11F. Similar start-up to her j.D from pre +R. Still chains/combos from a j.K like in AC. However, does not knockdown on hit against a grounded opponent, similar to in #R.<br><br><strong>Throw</strong> - Similar to her throw in #Reload as it provides knockdown, and a limited ability to combo afterwards (much more limited than in #R). Can hit a far 5S on Faust and possibly a 2P or 5P on others. Most players just take the knockdown and do a running disc.<br><br><strong>Air throw</strong> - Looks to be the same as in pre-AC (untechable).<br><br><strong>Dead Angle Attack</strong> - Looks the same as in previous games. Knocks down against grounded enemy, gives lots of time for oki.<br><br><br><strong><span>Specials</span></strong><br><br><strong>Lust Shaker</strong> - Startup: 10F (same). Mashed version can have longer startup by up to 8F since you gatling to 5S and then cancel that into Lust Shaker, causing 5Sc -&gt; SSSS lust shaker to not combo - so always use 214S!<br><br><strong>Tandem Top (S)</strong> - Startup: 11F (same). You can now follow Tandem Top S immediately with Tandem Top H / Secret Garden (previously you had to wait 42F before you could do either of these). Otherwise looks the same as in previous games.<br><br><strong>Tandem Top (H)</strong> - New animation: Millia raises her arm and summons the disc from the air. Total time: 32F -&gt; 35F. Startup (time until it hits): 60F -&gt; 72F. Now hits twice instead of just once. Disc now disappears if Millia is forced to block. Remains fully untechable with wall bounce near corner.<br><br><strong>Roll</strong>: Total time: 24F -&gt; 26F (with no followup). Followups possible beyond 14F (15~26F). Is in CH state during the move. Roll -&gt; throw is a little harder to use as a legit tactic due to nerfed roll speed. However, now the roll has follow-ups you can do!<br><br>
-&gt; <strong>Digitalis</strong>: Startup: 7F(!). New move - a very fast, high damage poke from the initial roll. Launches slightly on regular hit (does not knock down though; they can tech). Similar to her Longinus force break from AC and +R, it even wall-sticks on CH. After using Roll -&gt; Digitalis enough you might be able to sneak in and...<br><br>
-&gt; <strong>Follow-up Roll</strong>: Total time: 20F. Very similar to first roll, but much faster. Can be used to roll -&gt; throw similar to in previous games. But obviously very telegraphed due to the first roll. Good to mix in after conditioning opponent with Roll -&gt; Digitalis.<br><br>
-&gt; <strong>Follow-up Lust Shaker</strong>: Not sure about this one - probably the same properties as regular Lust Shaker (see above).<br><br><strong>Iron Saviour</strong> - Startup: 17F (same). Travels a bit slower, but otherwise same as in previous games.<br><br><strong>Bad Moon</strong> - Startup: 11F (same), ~16F for lowest TKBM (same). Still unreactable!<br><br><strong>Turbo Fall</strong> - Hard to tell, but looks same as in previous games.<br><br><strong>Silent Force (S)</strong> - Only has S version of Pin now. Startup: 11F (same!), but travels much, much slower. When done right after inputting an air dash, looks to be fast enough to allow Millia to get in. Not so useful for baiting and counter hitting antiairs when done late after an airdash, due to slow startup and slow speed, as the enemy's antiair would be in recovery by the time the Pin reaches them, so you won't get a CH.<br><br><strong>Secret Garden</strong> - Total time: 74F (same). Startup (time until hit): 56F (same). Not cancellable with D like in Slash onwards.<br><br><br><strong><span>Overdrives</span></strong><br><br><strong>Winger</strong> - Startup: 5+1F (same). Has a fancy cutscene now - otherwise looks the same as before. Millia no longer has the air version of Winger though (2nd half of the move only).<br><br><strong>Emerald Rain</strong> - Startup: 4+2F -&gt; 4+5F. Similar to in previous games despite being a little slower. Unknown if it still has strike invincibility.<br><br><strong>Chroming Rose</strong> - New super. Startup: 25+12F. Causes roses to trail behind her every time Millia does an action (movement, normal moves, special moves). Lasts for roughly 8 seconds. Amazing super that lets Millia do repeated mixups between Bad Moon and Iron Saviour, with the rose trail appearing during the recovery of each move so that the opponent cannot escape.</p>

<p>During recovery, Millia is not in CH state.  Also if she is hit between the time when her tension drains but before the screen freeze, Chroming Rose <em>still activates</em> - <a href="" https: rel="external nofollow">both of these can be seen here</a>.</p>

<p><strong>Iron Maiden (Instant Kill)</strong> - New animation - Millia stabs you with about 1,000 pins, very cool. With 100% tension it should be possible to combo into it, possibly via Chroming Rose -&gt; IK super freeze activation -&gt; IK, or via air combo -&gt; Pin, RC, land and activate + IK.<br><br>
