It seems that everyone keeps making new threads about their problems or questions regarding joysticks. Here's one main thread to keep this section a bit more clean. I'm a modder and a customs builder. I have done many modifications and have helped many in the fighting game community regarding their equipment. I will answer, or at least try to answer any questions from the community if they are having any problems with their equipment or have any question about joysticks in general

Before you guys ask any questions I need you to read this website.

www.slagcoin.com

Slagcoin is a one stop shop for knowledge regarding your joystick, joystick parts, cases and case building. Who knows, maybe your question is already answered here. At the very least you can ask your question in a legible manner and use the proper terminology when it comes to your parts.

If you still have a problem regarding your joystick or want further information about modification, take a look at the SRK Tech Talk forum (its the best spot in all of SRK, seriously). There are a plethora of modification tutorials, product comparisons and analysis plus a bunch of other cool people building custom joysticks and modding shit.

Now ask away.

edit: thread renamed to include modification

Ever since Dustloop has added a Hardware subforum, I've been thinking about making a thread for monitor discussion where users can discuss what monitors they've bought and used, their experiences with it, etc. One of the main reasons why I decided to make this thread is so that it may hopefully help people who are thinking about what monitor to buy make a more informed decision thanks to peoples' personal testimonies in this thread since sometimes, just looking at data from Display Lag may not be enough to convince you, sometimes you need to read/listen to the opinions and experiences of others. Maybe you may need to play on the actual monitor(s) in order to see if the monitor you're thinking to buy is the one you want which was the case for me.

Also, please remember that Response Time =/= Display Lag.

<strike>If any of the admin(s) and/or mod(s) don't find this thread helpful then feel free to close and/or delete it.</strike>

Oh wow, just noticed today that this thread was Sticky'd, I'm glad the admin(s) and/or mod(s) saw this useful enough to warrant it.

	Hello all,

Just ordered a Madcatz TE2 Xbox one fightstick (on sale for 150 bucks). Does any one of you can confirm it will work with this game + windows 10. I do realize that most xbox one sticks can only use 6 out of 8 buttons since there are no official drivers from microsoft to solve this issue (shame on them for duping people).

Im fine with 6 button layout and even swapping the cables around from the buttons in order to make it work.

So any of you guys know it works??

I ordered the stick since its 150 bucks plus i have a gift card that gives me additional discount of 60 bucks! so i can get it for 90 bucks. Made the order but can pay at the store so i can always cancel.

And pls no feedback on ps3/ps4 sticks i know they work.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, I'm having trouble with OBS not picking up the sidebars in +R when I try to record from Steam. Example video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frEveoCTJ5o

I've since figured out how to edit the scene settings and quality settings, but I still can't get the side bars to appear. This let's you see that the background textures aren't perfectly squared off, you can see cornered characters sticking off the edge of the screen, etc.

Someone has to have tried this and run into this issue. I'm sure I'd eventually figure it out if I keep playing with it, but can anyone help me out and save me some headache? I don't care about streaming at the moment, I just want to record some stuff. My side bars are actually drawing in-game, but OBS just isn't picking them up. That's why this is really confusing. If I can auto-lock the scene size so that the game play fills the window without the side bars that would be an acceptable work around, but I can't get that to work well either since the game is outputting widescreen.

Hey bros. I've recently started playing anime on PS4. I have a ps3/ps4 hitbox that I also use on PC for various games. I don't have any issues with the following occurring anywhere but PS4.

After about 8 minutes of activity(Including dashboard or gaming), the hitbox will simply disconnect. I have to manually plug and unplug, then press the PS button to make it functional again.

I know awhile back people were having issues with this disconnect on their sticks but my TE2 doesn't have any problems with the disconnect. My hitbox, however, does. I know some people were talking about using a converter of some sort awhile back when the issue was first showing up. Does anyone have any input on this problem? Any experience? Share with me, my brothas. I wanna fix this!

So i bought a ps4 pad since my ds2 is RIP. I heard it works on ps3 so i tried it with some old phone cable and it worked fine.

Bought a longer cable, the pad light flashes for a while but the ds4 isnt recognized anymore. Tried " adding bluetooth device " in the options but my 1 3 7 9 inputs on the d-pad dont even work so playing wireless isnt an option.

I assume there are different types of cables since the short one works pefectly and the longer one doesnt. But i wanna know what are these differences so i can buy a longer cable that'll work this time.

Thanks in advance for the answers and sorry if this was already asked.

Okay for starters, I still own a working Playstation 2, as well as a PS3, and I recently bought a High Definition Monitor to work with, so that's a plus.

I can already play GGXrd and BBCPEX in HDMI, so that's a start.

But what I want to do is hook up my PS2 to my monitor, which only has an HDMI and VGA port, so I'd probably need an RCA adapter of some kind I think (Red/White/Yellow Female cable connectors to the male ones I have).

Can someone suggest some adapters or monster cables that could help me out.

Oh yeah and I still own a Gamecube as well.

Right, so I'm thinking of buying a soundbar for my low-input lag LCD. Sure, I rather an CRT monitor, but I live in a very small apartment and I barely have room for a flatpanel as it is. So I got an LCD good on input lag.

With that in mind, I'm thinking of getting a better sound setup; routing sound to a sound bar or something similar instead of through the TV. Of course, HDMI and Optical are encoded forms of data transmission. I'd like to invest in a soundbar, or something similar with a good analog input scheme just in case optical or HDMI is too laggy.

Of course, I know nothing about audio! So, has anyone else here encounter the same situation? What did you do, what do you know? Recommendations?

Hey, even CRTs need good audio too.

Soo just ordered the m4 coverter and a wired hori stick. will test this out on following products and see if its any good

hitbox ps3

korean fanta stick ps3

hori3 ps3

that way none other need to waist money if this is a total blow out. and if it works people wont need to fork out 200$ for a new stick

"general thoughts"- if i get it to work, and if the comfirmed 0f delay is actually reall this is very nice.

and if I can figure out how the ps4 controller what part is responsible for doing the "check in with the system" i can probably replicate it"

soo people wont even need to buy a wired ps4 controller. and in the end will only need to fork out tops 70$

"please work, please work, please work(i dont want to try another ps4 pad hack >.<

I've got the HRAP4 Kai for a while now, and I quite like it. My first stick was the wireless tekken 6 hori stick, and compared to what I have now, I'm really happy.

However, sometimes something weird happens when I'm playing. It happens very rarely, only once in a while. There had been times when I wanted to IAD forwards, but instead, it made me IAD backwards, even though I did 956.

There was even a time I did 214214 but it became 236236, giving me the wrong super.

I am not sure when does it happen, but if I were to guess, it happens after I hold back(when blocking for example) for a long time. I think it has happened before when I held the stick in one direction to run and wanted to IAD backwards, though it made me IAD forward.

Apparently, I'm not alone in this as well, as my friend who has the same stick did mention it happened to him before a couple of times, where he wanted to crouch but jumped instead.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone who has a stick with a Hayabusa lever?

I'm having a strange issue with my stick (Sanwa JLF).

I'm switching back to the stock square gate from an octagonal one due to diagonal inputs not being read consistently.

Now both left and up aren't coming out normally, in addition to both up-diagonals.

When I move the stick I can hear the switch engage, but either A) nothing happens, B) the action comes out when the stick goes back to neutral, or C) I get a double tap of the input.

This happens probably a third of the time, so it's completely unplayable.

I've tried with both gates, checking all connections.

The switches seem to work when pressed directly by hand (no issues at all), and the stick's less than a year old.

So I'm not sure what's going on.

Anyone had a similar issue or know what might fix it?

Hey everyone, I would like to get into BlazBlue along with my brother and I was wondering if I could use my GameCube controller on the PS3 through some kind of adapter. I tried to use my brother's stick but I just didn't feel it and I'm not a fan of the D-Pad for regular controllers. I like the way the GameCube controller feels and the directional input isn't as wonky as a normal analog stick.

But yeah, I was wondering how I could get the GameCube controller to work on the PS3 because I don't know which adapter will have good quality. Does anyone else actually do this and if so how is it?

As an active participant in our scene weekly gatherings I'm discussing with them that we want get more exposure instead of a small circle. We can stream and we can record but we don't do it enough or at least the responsibility is left in my hands most of the time that I'm too lamed out to set it all up (please forgive me). Now I want to make up for that these next few weeks but I need your help in order to make this possible. I have a HD PVR2 which I used to stream and record in my spare time for single play and my buddy has an Avermedia equipment I don't know how to use for the life of me but it has the same capabilities as my stuff.

The meat of this topic is that I want to upload videos of our scene in action to YouTube more frequently but with commentary involved, to spice things up. I want to know some suggestions on quality mics and mixers I think to make this experience enjoyable for everyone. Two mics and one mixer would be ideal but if I have to go 1-1 with the set-up it still fulfills the objective of commentary.

Thanks in advance for all those who do participate in helping me with this.

I recently broke my Hori RapV and am right now looking at these 2 sticks. I'm kind of wondering, why is the Hayabusa so much more than the Kai on amazon? Also, what are the differences besides color? I thought for a moment it was the Hayabusa lever but the Kai comes with that as well.

I've been searching all over trying to find an answer for this, as it might be a dealbreaker for me.

I have a HORI Fighting Edge for my PS3 and I love it, so in looking for sticks for my PS4 I looked to HORI first. The Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai looks pretty good, but there's one sticking point--the button configuration. Everything I see says that it has a 'button configuration mode', but I can't find details on what buttons can be configured. Are they all remappable(like the Fighting Edge) or only certain buttons? I ask because I have my buttons laid out a specific way that I like and am used to, and it'd be a huge pain to change that. Changing the inputs in the game settings is sadly not an option because I'm the only one of my friends who uses a fight stick, and I don't want to have to remap the game button settings every time we switch players.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
