My reason for the roll call is simple -- I was checking SRK to see if there was anything like NextLevel out on Long Island, and while it's not the same, the only thing I've gotten close to is a comic shop in West Islip that hosts SF/MvC players on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The rest of the week, it's primarily occupied with TCG casuals, competitions, etc etc.

I went to take a quick trip there today and it DOES have the space and resources (TV's/360's) for a few of us to have casuals if we need to (even though it is a tad cramped, there should be room to play). I spoke to an employee and he said if I wanted to set something up, I could speak to the owner. But before that, I need to know who's around and who wants to play.

Doesn't have to be BB; if you play GG, AH, some other poverty game nobody's heard of, SPEAK UP, let's see if we can't get something started. Personally speaking, I'm open to try any game (with the exception of Marvel).

but yeah in terms on places, there is a place called The Gamers Edge in Valley Stream (Nassau) that is getting more and more popular

This is also a neat thing in that it will show where the highest concentration of GG Players is and where it might be good to check out the fighting scenes. (Not limited to U.S., some players may be located in Europe and Japan)

(TGC) Texas Gaming Championships Announcement: For those who missed the announcement on the MLG.Tv stream the new championship series is called Texas Gaming Championships. TGC is a professional video game championship series featuring the best players in Texas competing in variety of tournaments to see who is the best. TGC events will feature top player rankings in Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS, Ultra Street Fighter 4, Pokemon X & Y, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Mario Kart 8, Killer Instinct. TGC will also feature a BYOC (Bring Your Own Console) area and any game that has more than 8 entrants will qualify for running a tournament. If the any game gets more than 16 players or more consistently I will add it to the official game lineup. The benefits of it being added to the official game lineup is rankings and sponsorship. If you are in the top rankings you will get media coverage such being in articles, tv, etc. For sponsorship for the games, sponsors will give out money and prizes to the official lineup of games and they will have priority. Space in the BYOC area will be limited so this is a 1st come 1st serve. Our 1st TGC event is projected to be Feb 2015. We realize the potential of growth in these events so I want to introduce Tournament Helpers. I will be creating a list of venues to host these events and have a few in mind. #1: Magazine Coverage: Young Houston Magazine is a magazine that covers fashion, music entertainment and much more. They currently do not have a gaming section in there magazine but i brought the idea to the CEO of the magazine and he is interested in doing a article featuring the top ranking players. I have a graphics team that will create the graphic layout for the magazine and these magazines will be available for print and online. Once the 1st issue of the magazine is out with TGC being featured I have a some more magazine company's who are interested in this idea as well. This will add a new audience and gain new readers which will turn into new players being added to the Texas Gaming scene.
 
#2: Tv Coverage: Fox 26 and Channel 11 are interested in covering TGC events. I have other stations that I been in contact with and will make an announcement at a later time.
 
#3: Mobile App: Me and my team are creating a TGC mobile app. This app will feature top player rankings, events, announcements, livestream and much more. This app will be on 3 platforms Android, iOS and Windows. In this app will feature a share button so you can share it with all your friends and contacts in your phone.
 
#4: Sponsors: Devry University was one of my 1st sponsors and sponsored a TYS event with prizes and prepaid visa credit cards. I have been talking to alot of sponsors and getting close to deals so once everything is set in stone I will be making some announcements so stay tuned!
 
#5: Press: I will be talking to the Houston Press, Newspaper, Greensheet and other press sources about featuring TGC as an article. I can see about getting TGC on the cover as well. I got the cover of the Houston Press back in 2012 so this is possible.
 
#6: Radio: I have alot of friends that work at 97.9 the box and will be talking to them and other radio stations about TGC.

me, axis, troy, skye and grendy were riding to keytard's place in PH for some casuals ( he has since die, aka we haven't heard from him since )

our method of navigation was by using grendy's ( at the time ) reliable droid

now see, we're niggas, so we automatically placed our faith in the white man's GPS system in a phone

... but that's where we fucked up

on the way the port huron the droid told us to get on the bridge to canada, and make a u-turn

naturally, all of us were hesitant but troy was driving and he's one scary white dude so we respected the white man's droid navigational abilities

..... but that's where we fucked up

we are immediately shaken down by the canada defense force, and forced to pull into customs

.... but that's where shit got real

we got forced out of the car, forced to leave all potentially dangerous objects in the car, troy got asked if he was carrying like nuclear bombs or something

i left my starbursts in the car, on this fateful day

.. a half pack of red and pink starbursts. RED AND PINK, THE BEST TWO FUCKING FLAVORS

after we got molested/questioned by the customs police rape force ( they went in Grendy's gooty, pray for him ) they give us some ticket from Willy Wonka and we head back to Troy's car

I immediately look in the backseat and notice that my cell phone and mp3 player ( and grendy's punkass droid ) are there, but there is one critical element missing -- my goddamn staburst

however, we all needed to get the hell out of Canada, and I was pretty sure one of the cops was seconds away from throwing cocaine on Axis and killing him for the 1993 setup

so we depart, I turn around in the backseat and glare out the window --

and I see it

a thing no one should see

a canadian cop eating my red and pink starburst and licking his lips

The Chicken Nugget Story, as Presented by Our Own Skye

On one foggy evening, 4 men sat in a basement, sadlifing about pedophile jokes and mandango S&M porn, Steven (Axis), Christopher (Skye), Kevin (not Luna), and George, enjoying a Friday night as we always do.

Suddenly, George has an idea!

"We need chicken nuggets! LOTS AND LOTS OF CHICKEN NUGGETS"

Kevin is reluctant, trying to have tact in this, a stroke of genius, however Christopher and Steven agrees instantly, "we need 100 chicken nuggets". Within minutes we gather all we can to contribute to the cause, Kevin included and we all hop in the car, at 10 PM, to McDonalds, we walk up to the desk and say, "We would like to order 100 chicken nuggets", the clerk looked at us like we were stoners, Steven had to confide in them that we weren't, she finally took us seriously and placed the order, after much deliberation and decision making, we decided to up the number to 150. So the order of 150 Chicken Nuggets were placed.

While waiting, Kevin and Steven brought up the brilliant idea to take all 150 Chicken Nuggets, go into the Play-Place and have an old fashioned nugget fight, "cuz we stack paper like that".

The idea was placed under much consideration, but we were hungry.

So we gathered all 150 Chicken Nuggets and went to the gas station to get drinks, when we returned, we basked in the glorious nuggetage.

When we were "done" (we couldn't even finish them all), we sat back, a few of us laid down, Christopher included and Kevin booted up Tales of Phantasia, then quickly after, Chrono Trigger, in a bask of the moment, we named the characters after vulgar terms for genitals, we laughed at hilarious lines like-

  • "Ass, can I come too?"
  • "Cocks! Where have you been!?"
  • "Ass's father Miguel"
  • "Cocks, that's a nice name"
  • "Cunt, something's wrong"

It was 1 am when we left from Kevin's house and we rode through frighteningly thick fog on home.

]]>3591Fri, 15 Jul 2011 23:57:20 +0000Colorado GG/BB match thread *2009*https://www.forums.dustloop.com/forums/topic/1227-colorado-ggbb-match-thread-2009/ha ha! new thread! with blaze blue out we needed a new thread. lets start a new topic: match ups! so far the match up threads on this site have posted strates manly against scrubby players. i want to see what we have to say on the topic. starting with what characters we feel are the good/bad matches for the characters we play and why. Noel's bad matches: Ragna 6/4- the Upper really kills her offense. sure she has some moves that beat out his but this match is allot of Ragna doing what he wants and allot of Noel trying to punish him. Arakune 6/4- Arakune is just freaken good. he has great pressure and runaway and deals damage.... Noel has trouble comboing him to boot. on the other had she has 2 to 3 ways out of his corner pressure. Jin- not sure if this is a bad match up yet. his uppers are good but whiff on moves like 2B and 3C..... good match ups: Tager 6/4- Sledge going through projectiles is no big deal when you don't spam Drives. he's easily punished for big damage and the match can be won easily from 5B's range (out side of A Buster's range). Rachel 6/4ish...- so far Rachel hasn't given me any issues. her only way to deal with noels pressure is 2C, and that just isn't enough. Rachel mix up and pressure is insane for short periods of time. after that she's forced to run away. plus the average damage output seems to be in Noels favor. Rachel eats big damage combos. Hakumen 6/4- Haku is too slow to deal with Noel. he's easy to punish and her mix up makes counters scary business. His damage out put can be great, but hers is consistently great.
