SamSho2 gets a lot of love and it's a good game but imo 5sp is the crown Jewel of the series, at least from a competitive standpoint. I've been playing this one a lot this year and now that the PS4/Vita version is out, it's getting a bit more attention than it has which is nice.

If anyone is up for playing on fightcade or anything, let me know. Other than GG this is probably my favorite fighting game. I'm happy to train beginners too!

Personally I'm hyped as all hell, since I've been wanting an Umineko fighting game since the second episode. Sure, there's not much to go on, but from the screenshots I'm seeing fullscreen beam supers and 14 hit combos, assists (tag-in's?), "Break Limits" (stun? bursting?).. looks like it'll be something to look out for, anyway.

The word is finally out.

Today, I'd like to talk about Ougon Musou Kyoku, the centerpiece of it all.

We've been working on this one for a pretty long time now.

We always wanted to make a fighting game some day! So we had a dream, we had the help of many people we will be forever indebted to, and we had a work to put all our effort in.

Actually, the reason we started working of this is because of our talks with BT-san.

(And it's a great pain that he couldn't make it to this day...)

And, after all these years, all these people put so much effort into this.

Netplay, full-voiced. Many tricks we wanted to include in the system, etc. etc.

Anyways, there are tons of combos and ボコスカ (?), so we think we've done a splendid job.

There are also some "Umineko-like" mechanics which can only be seen in Ougon Musou Kyoku, so make sure to enjoy them, too.

For more details on the game, make sure to check out "Ougon Musou Kyoku" website, which is already open to the public.

Has anyone else seen the new system section on the webpage? There's some stuff that I don't think we had seen before. I'll do a list of the important things there.

General stuff

-Game uses 3 attack buttons, one Touch button, and an Appeal button (seems to be a taunt).

-Doing an Appeal slightly recovers HP.

-There are 3 lifebars and no second round, so if you get KO'd that's it.

-Press all attack buttons to activate the metaworld.

-You can dash cancel, tech throws, and tech your falls.

Touch

-Switches characters and reduces your Break Gauge and stun.

-There are 5 kinds of Touching.

-Normal Touch: The active character taunts and switches with his/her partner. Activates the ability of the character that tagged out and costs no SP.

-Attack Touch: Touch during an attack, and your partner comes in with an attack to continue attacking. No SP needed.

-Guard Touch: Touch while guarding to switch characters while blocking. Uses 1 SP.

-Damage Touch: Touch while getting hit to break the combo, send the opponent flying back to the other side of the screen and switch characters. Uses 2 SP.

-Assault Touch: Qcf+Touch to do an invincible "tackle" that switches characters and knocks down the opponent. Uses 2 SP.

Meta World (if any of the names sound weird blame Google)

-As said before, it's activated by pressing all attack buttons.

-Activates both of your characters' abilities and allows you to use your meta special for no cost while it's active.

-Meta Declaration: Uses 1 SP and requires the Meta Gauge to glow red.

-Meta Return: Used after a declaration, uses 2 SP and depletes the opponents Meta Gauge.

-Meta Redeploy: Used after a return to activate the meta world again, uses 2 SP and reduces your Meta Gauge by 25% of what it originally was.

-Meta Surrebutal: Used after a redeploy, uses 3 SP to deplete the Meta Gauge again.

-Meta Forcing: Used after a surrebutal, uses 2 SP to activate the meta world again and reduces your Meta Gauge by 50% of what it originally was.

Character Abilities

-Activated with a Normal Touch or with the Meta World.

-Ushiromiya Battler: "Resurrection", slightly recovers HP over time.

-Beatrice: "Infinity SP", it's pretty much what it sounds like.

-Ushiromiya Ange: "Stun Boost", increases the stun of your attacks.

-Lucifer: "Attack Touch" use Attack Touches without consuming your Touch Gauge.

-Shannon: "Auto Guard", exactly what it says.

-Kanon: "Silent Attack", reduces the SP your opponent gets from your attacks.

-Virgilia: "Brimful", increases the SP of both of your characters.

-Ronove: "Counter Boost", increases the damage of counter hits.

-Eva Beatrice: "Berserk", increases your attack power.

-Siesta/Chiester 410: "Break Boost", increases guard break damage.

Other than the usual basic stuff I think that's pretty much it.

It is, of course, a doujin game, so it won't be receiving an XBLA release or anything of the like any time soon. PC release date is likely to be at the winter Comiket (79), which is around December 28th to the 31st.

Genre: 2-on-2 2D Fighting game

Updates__________

11/25/11 - Ver 1.5A Annnounced!!! -

Aquapazza is seeing a new revision which will balance the original cast and even add 2 new characters (1 Point, 1 Partner)!!! You can find out more about the update here!

GET HYPE!

6/27/11 - Daily updates stopped! -

Since it's pretty clear we can expect at least 1 new video a day for awhile I'm gonna stop spamming the news section, I posted a link to my playlist for all the AP videos I post so you can check that, also I always post and embed the latest videos on a post anyways. GET HYPE®!

6/25/11 - SERIOUS BUSINESS -

Today I share with you videos from AP first recorded tournament! Enjoy.

6/24/11 - Things keep rollin' -

I wonder when I'll stop writing here, surely by now everyone expects daily footage right? At least until SBO. Well 4 new videos added providing over an hour of entertainment. Riannon is the latest salt in these for me (such a stupid character...)

6/23/11 - Daily Video? -

Just dropping off some more match videos, you can view them below in the media section

6/22/11 - Day 1, GO! -

Aquapazza came out today! And to celebrate of course I've added some Day 1 footage, I am also currently working on extending the "guide" and adding movelist, so look forward to that!

6/7/11 - Are you ready for the party!? -

Today the media section has been uploaded with the game's opening animation; with a catchy song and glimpses at a hidden character I think it's well put together! Now we just have to wait for release, SBO here we come!

5/23/11 - Footage GET! 2! -

Nothing big just found some more vids so I decided to post em, of course not great quality but it's nice to get to see more of the game. There's suppose to be a big even early next month so hopefully when get something in finer quality before the game releases.

5/18/11 - Footage GET! -

Thanks to the sleuthing of Tachyons we have received four new videos of the final build of Aquapazza (although they are in rather low quality....but it's better than nothing). Hopefully with the game releasing next month we'll get a good flood of new HQ stuff!

5/10/11 - (Not so) lost in translation -

It...is...DONE!

Finally after all the procrastination and promises, the system guide is finally complete! Anything relating to gameplay that you can find on the website has been faithfully translated into a more user friendly format for non-Japanese speaking players! A big, BIG thanks to Kazukifafner for aiding with translation when no one else would! Hopefully when more information comes out I can rely on him again (or other kind hearted souls!). I know the thread is getting a big clunky that to my chosen format, but that may soon change...but we'll discuss that when we approach that bridge. :3

5/9/11 - Hello world -

Just a small updated stating the release of Aquapazza, today on the game's official blog it states the game will be seeing release sometime next month! This doesn't give much time for people entering SBO but hopefully it'll make for interesting test time... Oh Examu you so clever! Put your new game in a big tournament but only release it just shy of a month before it begins, thus forcing people to drop some major coinage to learn :3

4/28/11 - The OFFICIALLY HYPED edition -

I saw a new PV today and in the screencap I saw the, now very much liked, "Encounter With A Newcomer" so imagine my hype (and squeals) when I played it and saw what I had been waiting for since this game's announcement, TOUKA!!!! Yes today's videos and screens introduce us to the mighty Evenkuruga warrior Touka as well as two more assist characters in the form of Octavia (from Tears) and Rina (from White Album, which was quite a shock to see not only 1 but 2 White Album characters make their way into the game)! This brings the roster to 10 point characters and 9 assist, interestingly enough today's video ends with the message "Aqua+ Dream Match finally coming," could this mean this is the final roster and they game hit finally hit arcades?

4/8/11 - My new waifu edition? -

Today a video was released to show of the secretly announced characters mention in the previous updated, BUT we also get to see a whole new character! Morgan from Tears to Tiara has come to even the odds with her might bow, and Konomi looks like shota supreme with some Kisaragi humor! If Touka doesn't make the cut (; A; ) at least I have Konomi to look forward to...maybe I should play To Heart 2...

Screens and trailer can be viewed in the media post :3

4/5/11 - There's an update but don't tell anybody! -

Ah April Fool's, a time where you can't trust any news and info you may hear from the entertainment world, well this latest updated happened on that fated day, but now we can rest easy knowing that it is real! At a glance you'll notice the site got a (much needed) makeover and viewing information and updates is much more streamlined, but upon inspection of the character tabs lies the true update! 3 new characters! (1 point and 2 assist).

Someone on the dev team sure does love the To Heart series as they have THE most representatives on both sides of the roster (point/assist) and the new point character Konomi hails from this world! Utawarerumono gets another rep in the form of Urtoriy (or Ulthury according to the site, which is actually the best name altercation I've seen so far) fun not Urtoriy is actually Kamyu's sister for those of you who don't know! And lastly is a big shock as our 2nd new assist character is Yuki from the White Album series! Honestly I didn't expect to see this series but it's a nice addition, even if she won't be joining the fray directly. Hopefully a proper reveal trailer will be shown soon!

3/11/11 - Encounter with a Newcomer! -

Today Examu showed off the ass kicking that Hakuro and Riannon will be giving (or doing) for you when Aquapazza releases! The trailer can be viewed in the media post, and hopefully there are still MORE CHARACTER WILL COMING SOON!

2/28/11 - The NOT Touka Edition -

As the trailer promised two new characters have been announced and you can probably guess from the title neither one is the character I want, however they both bring something that was still needed to the game.

Hakuro is not only the 2nd Utawarerumono representative (3rd if you count Assist) but he is also the 2nd male in the roster (understandable as Aqua+ is infamous for making harem date-sims.)

Riannon is the 2nd/3rd Tears to Tiara character as well, showing that the more hardcore of Aqua+'s titles were not forgotten!

2/25/11 - More Characters Will Coming Soon! -

Added new media today and updated information. Also the new trailers reveals there will be more (hopefully Touka playable) characters soon! Also it seems this really is an Aqua+ Dream match as recently revealed assist hail from other projects! (Comic Party!) One last tidbit;

It appears AquaPazza will be debuting at SBO '11!

1/29/11 - www. -

Official website added. Not much to look at however.

1/26/11 - What the!? -

Aquapazza is an inter-crossover fighting game featuring characters from Aqua+'s visual novel games (if you want to get technical they only published the titles, and this is more of a Leaf crossover) The main series include the To Heart, Utawarerumono, Tears to Tiara, and Comic Party!

Release is slated for Arcades sometime in Spring this year and it's be developed by Examu (ya know the Arcana Heart/Daemon Bride guys :3) it will also utilize the ever popular NESiCAxLive system. Here are the 5 confirmed characters so far (note non-Japanese names don't match up because I'm going by common spelling, aka pre-this game :P):

Tamaki (To Heart 2)

Arawn (Tears to Tiara)

Karura (Utawarerumono)

Multi (To Heart)

Manaka (To Heart 2)

Hey everyone. I'm Julian from Crayder Studios and we're working on a new fighting game for the PC, Mac and Linux, called Wishmere. Wishmere is something of a love-letter to the fighting game genre: it's got elements of Street Fighter 2, Blazblue, Guilty Gear and Smash. We wanted to have a game that was slower paced that GG / BB, had the lower barrier to entry like Smash and to have some traditional fighting game sensibilities.

	Quick info:

9 characters, with their own Edge system: Edge works similar to Drive from Blazblue but they're always resource-based (count based like CS Hazama or gauge based like Valk)

Fate system: a gauge that once filled, can be used to slow time for a few seconds or used to burst out of attacks

Online coming soon: Online is a focus for us, as we know its very important. We'll be using a rollback system for online. Unfortunately we couldn't use GGPO as we're developing on Unity

Smash similarities: easy execution of moves and up to 4 players simultaneously. So we wanted to help answer the issues of newcomers of the genre – 1) execution of moves and 2) fighting games always being 1v1. It's a little different than the usual fighter, but hopefully the nuances make sense. Plus point: is that this does open up the possibility of co-op with friends against hordes of AI-controlled enemies.

Wishmere was originally a beat-em-up fighting game hybrid, but we found that the multi-plane aspect of a beat-em-up was largely hampering for the demands of a faster combat based game. So we're making changes to the system and will be rolling out the new version on Steam soon.

Well, what do you get when you mix niche genres and franchises and put them together? (For example Umihara Kawase, Cave Story and Code of Princess.) Well??? You have this for a fighter!

Currently under development and will be releasing on current gen and arcades (in JP, obviously.)

No one else put this up, so I figured I would. A new Marvel vs Capcom is upon us in 2017. This game will eschew the 3-vs-3 system of the more recent entries and instead act as a 2-vs-2 entry like the first titles. There will be no assists in this game. Instead, after picking your 2 characters you pick an Infinity Stone, which will provide various passive benefits based on what the stone is, as well as an active benefit on directly using said stone. While there's no assists, that does not mean the characters cannot interact in any way, as you can change characters quickly, and do so in the middle of combos for tag team attacks.

Currently the known characters are these 4 in the trailer above, plus 2 more to be revealed tonight (12/04/2016). I personally am rather excited for this entry, as I was never a fan of assist, and I like the look of this new game.

Well, if anyone cares, there's a new fighter, by an IP from Square (no, not Dissidia), and the game features support cards as assists. Currently 5 playable characters are confirmed while the game's in progress.

The game has been in the works for a while, but since you could only get your hands on the demo by paying Sirlin money (and even then, you had no rights to post any footage), all discussion was basically dead in the water. Guess that's about to change soon.

I like the overall idea, even if it feels like taking way too much from Pocket Rumble. My main gripe is that Sirlin already got a game for those who want to play a fighting games with minimal inputs: Yomi. Won't this game just split the existing audience?

“The main point is the word ‘contract’. Could it be that the female on the left and the desirable character have entered into a contract?”

Notes: the ‘contract’, 契約, is supposed to be pronounced ‘engage’ for whatever Engrish reason though it probably plays into the ‘bride’ aspect.

Daemon Bride

- The judgement of the power of White; the defiance of the love of Black; the Contract is the key to Tokyo.

In this double-feature on Examu’s new works, we introduce the completely new production Daemon Bride. Daemon Bride is a fighting game with an Angel vs. Demon theme and a fantasy world as the backbone. We don’t know the exact details of the game’s system, but you fight with weapons of power received from a Contract (Engage) with an angel or a demon. Also, if Arcana Heart is a fighting game aimed at the guys, it is not an exaggeration to say that this game will be charming to the ladies. With charming male characters, a complexly intertwined story, and gorgeous voice acting comparable to theatrical anime, it’s chock-full of things that the gamer girls will like. In addition to the work itself, a drama CD and theme song CD will go on sale, and there are plans to expand into other forms of media from there. But first, to introduce the concerning story and the two main characters:

Story.

It has been seven years since the great calamity that assailed the Kantō region.

What was once Tōkyō is now a city blockaded by a barrier, and has undergone a distinctive revival.

--Kyōritsu Stella Gakuen--

Making a “Contract” (Engage) with beings that transcend human knowledge,

those with the mighty power in their hands have collected.

At the academy, they have guided those who have power to straighten their paths,

in order to protect the equilibrium of the world.

However, those who dissent from the academy’s ideology also exist.

Some want power for the sake of their own convictions,

and some will throw away everything for the sake of just one love.

The desires clash, and mayhem and disorder spread.

The closed Tokyo now enters the act of fighting.

“To the corrupt world, the Justice of White–”

Sumeragi Kuon [sumeragi uses the character for “emperor”; “Kuon” uses the characters for “eternity”] (v: Miyano Mamoru)

The student council executive chair of Kyōritsu Stella Gakuen. Scholarship also places him as a top genius in the academy. Calm and composed, serious and honest. Can get to be overly fastidious, but his popularity is devoted. Originally a classmate with Reizei, they both defended the order of the academy, but....

“Dyed black, for your sake”

Abane Reizei (v: Taniyama Kishō)

Originally the student council executive vice chair of Kyōritsu Stella Gakuen. He was once called Kuon’s right arm, but for whatever reason he lost interest in the academy, and was ousted from the student council executive body. He hates to be restricted; he has a free and uninhibited personality.

Director Serizawa’s comments:

Daemon Bride is a new kind of game that will be just as fun as fighting games are; so that you can enjoy a refreshing sense, we are developing a fighting game of a type that has not been seen so far. We will also introduce many fascinating characters. Please wait for it!

Product Synopsis:

Title – Daemon Bride

Release season – scheduled for next winter

Board used – eX-BOARD

Operation – 8-way stick, 4 buttons

Looks like a lazy retread of SFIV with the exact same sumi-e ink attack effects. At least they've toned down the ugly muscle shading and body proportions. I was hoping for a more dramatic stylistic overhaul i.e. SFIII, but modern Capcom has made no bones about their intentions to stick to what they think sells. Ultras are most likely back. I am not optimistic that this will be worth getting invested in for anyone who wasn't in love with SFIV (read: anyone with taste who didn't get swept up in all the ESPORTS sponsorship hype nonsense). I also strongly suspect that this will have an F2P component to go alongside Capcom's other PS4 freemium game, Deep Down.

So far the game has been announced for PS4 & PC, but not arcades or Xbox One. It appears that Sony has moneyhatted Capcom to keep the game off Xbone (this was foreshadowed with that vague "SF on PS4" teaser way back), though I'd bet anyone $50 that it's a timed exclusive. I suppose this also signifies Capcom's final abandonment of the arcade market - they haven't had an official arcade division for many years now, but three iterations of SFIV found their way into cabinets regardless.

Edit: The trailer suggests that Marvel-like air combos will be present in some capacity, though it could have just been a canned animation.
