I just recently picked up Xrd Rev 2 on PC, I'm getting back into fighting games after a few years of not touching them much.

I'm looking to find the main gathering of PC players and I'm wondering where I should be looking. Please and thank you for any help.

Since I didn't see a topic about it, I thought I'd post one.

In case it's not obvious M.O.M. stands for "Medals of Millionaires" if you don't know your GGX history.

Couple things I noticed:

---Projectiles tend to rule this mode, especially items like "Rapid Fire", "Emerald Rain", and the green staff that shoots green bullets (its name escapes me at the moment). Something to think about when considering what items you want to ban for your rooms.

---Armored Mode is actually a very powerful deterrent against "Boss Mode Overdrives" which are normally unblockable... so if you have no means to dodge, just super Armor through it. I was able to Super-Armor through Ramlethal's FULL Gamma Ray with it! Aegis Field is another deterrent against projectiles like Dark Angel or Eddie.

---There's several items dedicated to increasing your attack power, though I don't know which ones are the "best" when fully powered... so far "Rosario of Oath" seems the best (since it boosts Attack, Speed, AND Defense).

---There are two Super-bosses in Rank 14 (Sin and Elphelt) that award you with medals if you manage to beat them. I beat Sin, but I haven't been able to beat Elphelt yet, due to her projectile spam and chip damage.

---"Kamikaze Boots" and "Golden Armor" are basically the Chipp Zanuff and Potemkin ends of the movement and defense spectrum... if you don't have to worry about moving around much (say you use Bedman) "Golden Armor" might be fun to use, though don't expect players to respect you during a match, since they'll probably go for a Time-Up.

---The higher your Win-count in MOM the harder the enemies will be, so if you lose and the Win-chain is lost, you won't get as many medals, but the difficulty will be reset.

---It's actually a good idea to sell stuff you don't use, like Gunflame/Bomb/Hammer/etc, since they'll be easy to buy later if you're going for the trophy.

---There's a new menu called "World Dollars Store" that lets you randomize the "goal star" (the stage with a Medal bonus won't change, just the goal). And the menu also can increase the odds of a rare item drop. Rare items tend to show up more on "Goal Star, Medal Bonus" stages, so use a Master Key if you think you need to.

---Not sure what to do with the different chests, so I'll list them here and what I normally do:

Normal Chests: Easy to Break, just don't get caught airdashing at the end of the match or it disappears off-screen.

Black'n'Gold Heavy Chests: Three 2D attacks should suffice, but you need to act fast to break it.

All Black Floating Chests: 3 air combo hits are needed to grab this, and it seems to be height dependent, so if you finish the match with an air combo, you're boned.

Green Chests: Gunflame, Sickle Storm, Tyrant Rave, Fireseal all open this.

Gray Winged Combo Chests: Hard as heck to open unless you have multi-hit attacks or are good with quick juggle combos. Just use a Key on it.

Gray Plain Chest: Nearly impossible to open without a Key, any combo recommendations?

If you guys want to talk about "broken items" or "broken combinations" of equipment that's fine, that's what this thread is for.

---One last thing: Items that have an "Item possession bonus" only seem to be applicable to useable items (it affects Item cooldown rate), not equipment, so I think you can sell redundant equipment for a decent quid of medals. Any medals and items you earn can be transferred to any character you want to work on, even if they're NOT your main.

We are looking to expand into the world of Guilty Gear and potentially host tournaments and weekly lobbies. The group is super friendly and open to people from any region, we have primarly North American and European players though we welcome people from every region. We primarly use Discord as our communication channel though we do use the steam group to announce events and the steam chat to post scores when holding tournaments. If you want to pop into the Discord then hop into the group's steam chat(I'm in there almost every day for most of the day) or you could pm me for the link and I could happily give it to you.

Link to steam group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/BnBeez

Just picked up the game on Steam on a lark (used to play GGXX heavily) and...there is no one online. Heard that the PS4 version and the PC version are two separate beasts, which might account for it. Either that or everyone is playing SFV.

Will most probably return the game if there is really no online community. I mean, the point is to play ranked matches right? Don't really care about the story, so...

Do you think that it will pick up if and when Revelator comes to PC?

Also, mildly unrelated note - can't get the game to run on my other monitor (TV screen) at full resolution. Anyone know of a fix?

What are your thoughts on button mashing? To give an example, when executing Ram's PPP, instead of just pressing P exactly 3 times at the right moments, what I do is that I just mash P until the third P in the sequence comes out. So I end up pressing P about 4-6 times instead of 3 times. Likewise, when recovering, I just mash the buttons instead of pressing it one time.

	Is this bad habit?

I'm having an issue where I go into a room and sometimes players avatars just disappear for no reason. Like the game will say they're in the room and it will show that they're playing a match but I can't see their avatar. If I were to try and play or spectate one of these people, I get a "connection with opponent lost" and return to the room.

On top of this, another issue I've been encountering is that if this happens in a room, the game literally will not let me exit the room. I try and then I get an indefinite "please wait" screen that basically never goes away and I'm just stuck in limbo. Like I have to restart the game in order to get out.

I did not have this issue until like 2 weeks ago. I'm on PS3 so idk if that has anything to do with it or not and all the other functions of the game work fine outside of this online problem. I don't think its my connection either since every other online interaction in any other game is fine

	Anybody else experiencing something similar?

Hello and good day to all...

So my issue/question is this...Am I missing something? 2 North America region type options with plenty of areas available in each but none bother to cross the border into Canada. So as a Canadian I simply do not have the option of playing against someone in my country unless I invite them to my house? This seems pretty unusual no? I watch people stream who can find people in the same country(ie: anywhere in the US) and I tell you...I'm jealous...2F lag. No matter what I cannot get better than 5F no matter what server/region I try...I have a 100mb wired connection and no issues with any other game. Do I have to accept that Canadians were not considered when they made this or what? Before it's assumed that I haven't, I have done every port forwarding, DMZ placing, faster internet trick in the book...have any Canadians found a decent region to play in?.

Yes, I get salty over lag, moves not coming out or frustrating mus.

But I would never berate or talk down on a beginner.

So GG vets, leave your egos at the door. I am a new player. I don't know mus and I'm trying to adjust to the system. It's very discouraging when you encounter trash talkers and people who are more concerned with tearing people down rather than helping them. Has nothing to do with 'Oh I can't handle a little trash talk'.

I noticed I've been having problems finding games, whether it be ranked or player rooms. I'm also unable to connect to players on the cabinets in the lobby. Last night I tried to play with someone from Arizona. I myself am in SoCal. We couldn't see or join each others' games. We also couldn't see the same player rooms. The ones I saw he couldn't see, and the ones he saw I couldn't see. It was as if we were segmented from each other. Yet we could see each other's avatars in the lobby. I can join a lobby with 40 people in it and there are on average 0-1 games in ranked, with the one person being a level 0-1 connection. Likewise there is maybe one player room and everyone in there has a shit connection. I've found two people whose rooms I can join that have a playable connection. They are Brett and someone named Dropped_Inputs. I don't know if the problem lies with ArcSys or Sony (PSN) but it has got me pretty aggravated to the point that I'm tempted to call Chase-Manhattan for a defective product chargeback (since I'm sure Sony would be uncooperative). Didn't spend 50 bucks for a singleplayer FG.

Just what it says.. I've been in a fighting game funk recently and finally picked up GG XRD along with Sin, Leo and El.. I'm hoping to find an experienced player looking to train a newb to the game. I'm not new to fighting games, I understand the terminology and I have basic execution ability so you aren't picking up a *complete* newb. I've always found it a lot more fun (and certainly more efficient) to try to find a person, or small group, of experienced player(s) looking to train a newb, jump in voice chat and run long sets. Analyze, adapt, etc.

Anyway, just figured Id ask, in the interval I'll be plodding along in training mode and random online matches. If it matters to anyone, I haven't picked a main, and will most likely pick two characters to learn (I like a little variety).. Im leaning towards Sin and *possibly* El, but I need more time with the cast to decide for sure.

GG just seems to embody a lot of what I find enjoyable about fighters..But I have never played an 'air dasher' at any competent level before. My first real fighter was MKX, but it didn't work at release on PC, so I eventually migrated to SFIV - which is where I 'learned' to play fighters, and in all honesty, Id probably still be there if V hadn't annihilated the community. I played V, and I have nothing concrete against it, except that its kinda boring to me. It doesn't really drag me in and get my blood pumping. I play some KI now, and I enjoy it, but the breaker system just kind of kills that game for me sometimes.. I have too many matches that aren't fun or interesting because of horseshit 1st frame guess breaks.. I have a general rule, if I find myself having to chase fun around in a game, I start to walk away. Anyway, I'm rambling.

If anyone is interested in picking up a newb, hit me up!

Does network play no longer work on the PS3 version of this game? I invited a friend recently to play this game with me and he just got it. We're trying to play online but every time we invite each other it says connection failed, and I can't find his room and he can't find mine.
