I always wondered because It proved to be a exhausting task trying to rush down Tager w/ my Ragna & keep up the pressure w/o getting caught up by his commands grabs when I reset. Another thing that irritates me about Tager is his "Genesic Emerald Tager Buster" & getting caught in it almost all the time because a friend found out he can never catch me w/ Magna Tech Wheel>Terra Break. I just need the weaknesses to Tager because only way I can even the playing field is Throw Escaping (15/100 Chance) or using Hakumen (Regular/UNL)

• The 5D Counter Hit has been buffed, now can connect with a fully charged B Sledge or a Bsledge wiff >6A. 
• A raw 5D now gives more return with Spark Bolt buff and the Counter Hit (ground) buff.

Wedge Catapult

• The invincibility for Wedge Catapult starts from 6F to 1F after execution. 
• wall bounce damage increased to from 1000 to 1200, but if you do the follow up attack the total overall damage is still 2600. So the damage is higher than before if you choose to combo instead of using the buster follow up attack. But if you use the follow up attack the total damage is still the same as before.

Atomic Collider

• Collider's bounce has been altered to bounce closer to Tager. With this, A based attacks now hits against all characters. 1-2 frame advantage added to follow up (more time to follow up after AC). 2A will connect but 5B will not so the frame advantage is 8-9 frames.

SledgeHammer

• Regular Guard Point has been added to B Sledge during startup and charging frames, but still only projectile Guard Point during the active frames.  Same for A Sledge, however A Sledge couldn't beat Ignis's attacks. This may be because Ignis is no longer considered a projectile but rather a normal hit. Hammer still has the same Regular Guard Point.

Spark Bolt

• Like in CP, when Spark Bolt hits, the opponent will come back in front of you. Damage Proration has been buffed as well. Since Spark Bolt now is a great source for damage and a great follow up for Atomic Collider, using it just for the sole purpose of magnetizing an opponent looks like a waste of resource.

Terra Break

• The Damage Proration seems to have been nerfed?(minimum damage seems to be lowered)

Genesic Emerald Tager Buster

• Raw damage has been lowered to 4620.

Exceed Accell

• Now will blast opponent away from Tager instead of landing close to him

First some new System Mechanics changes

• Guard Crush: Crush Trigggers are very fast now and have piercing damage. A no-charge CT won’t be really useful for starting a combo because of the short guard crush time, the damage of the piercing effect is half of a raw CT. Naoto’s D based attacks are the same so this can be seen as a system mechanic?
• Same Move Proration: Only effects special moves (10% decrease). However, if a special move has multiple variants (example, Valk’s A Koenig, B Koenig, C Koenig) the SMP will only affect the same kind (A>A, B>B. Not A>B)

All IronTager Location Test #2 information:

Normals:

No new jump cancel moves. Only 5A, 2A, 5B are jc’able

5A = More recovery. 5A > tick grabs harder to pull off. Still F Startup. Jump cancel(jc) able. 5A>5B>5C>3C>AC>5C>6A>2C>AC>GF combo does around 2800 damage. Pretty good for a A starter.

2A = Now F Startup. Because of this, anti-air 2A has only meaning if you follow up with JA>JB>JC>Crimson Punisher. (jc)

jA = no changes.

6A = No longer can gataling into 3C. But the pull is very strong so 2C will connect no problem.

5B = Still has a nice range. No changes.

2B = Frame advantage unchanged. Because of the change to 5A, 2B will probably your main to grab tricks.

jB = Active hitbox and aerial CH causing a bound still exists.

6B = Startup 1 Frame slower. Will force opponent into a crouching state if hit.

5C = No changes

2C = The opponent will be launched much higher, unable to pursue with CT or character specific delayed A Sledge. Also, because of the change, unmagnetized AC will wiff more and the timing on the magnetized AC changed.

jC = No change.

6C = unchanged.

J2C = won’t connect with GF.

3C = Increased range? 5A>5B>5C>3C will connect. Because of the system change in SMP removed from all normal, untechable time has decreased drastically.

5D = Opponent will no longer be launched away when hit on the ground regardless of CH or not, staggers on the spot. The opponent can’t move for quite a while if countered, so there’s new possibilities. Aerial hit will cause slide down away from you, don’t follow up with an AC because it won’t connect anymore.5D aerial hit causes slide down, but can be followed with a Spark Bolt against Jin and Valk

2D = Decreased recovery frame, Tager will remain close to opponent upon block… I think.

jD = Untechable time increased. 6C>jD>C attacks will connect easily.

4D = No changes, maybe decrease in fall down after aerial hit?

During OD, D attacks still have armor

Specials:

A Sledge = Aerial hit close to that of CP 1.1. If done close enough, will connect with A attacks.

B Sledge = Upon aerial hit, opponent will fly a little away from you. Still can connect with A attacks if hit on ground.

Spark Bolt = Better damage proration.

Voltec Charge cancel into 720 still remains.

Atomic Collider

• Upon hit, the opponent is displaced much closer to you. The bounce has been decreased so follow up is harder (opponent will bounce up to Tager’s head). Opponent able to emergency tech.
• Still able to follow up with a Gadget Finger. If rc’d able to follow up with a B Sledge or 6C. For example 5C>6A>2C>AC>rc6C>JD>5B>5C>6A>2C>AC>Gadget 4850
•  VS Hazama: Mid-screen, 2B>2C>AC>5A connects against him. The combo didn’t seem to use up too much time so there might be possibility in follow up after the AC…?
• AC>5A>Sparkbolt was confirmed to work

A Driver

• Now the old B Driver, damage unchanged. Still able to connect to Gadget Finger.
• A Driver seems to have a decreased range without magnetism.

Air Driver

• Unsure if magnetic pull changed. Changes to Collider may affect usage of this move.

Gadget Finger

• The opponent will be displaced so far, even 5B won’t reach. However, the frame advantage is even greater than before. This will create both challengers to make new reads.

Wedge Catapult

• New Command Throw. Without magnetism, the range of the WC will be around 5B, with magnetism, able to catch opponents that within 5C’s range.
• Startup seems faster than the previous test, but still is slow, maybe 25 frames? Unlike the previous test, opponent won’t be pulled in immediately when it starts so they won’t be able to react as fast.
• After the initial hit connects, the opponent will be thrown behind Tager. Damage is 1000 and cannot kill (same properties as GF) and the opponent will drop center screen. With the follow up command, damage is 2600. Possibilities of pursuing after initial throw, but presumably F Starter. Damage Proration about 60%.
• A very versatile move, enabling Tager to switch positions, follow up with an Atomic Collider to avoid bursts and put them back in place. Invincibility frame seems to start around 3 to 5 frames. As long as you are able to determine the best timing to use it, the WC will be a great asset in turning the tables.
• Wedge Catapult’s invincibility frame is long enough to make Kagura’s 46A and B miss.
• Wedge Catapult (WC) = was able to beat Kagura's JC. From there, Tager was able to follow up with 5C > 6A > GF rc Magnetic Wheel (MW) for 3700.
• Also, the B Driver's invincibility seems long, was able to wiff Ragna's JC and catch him on landing.
• As mentioned before, Wedge Catapult’s initial hit has the same properties as GF in regards to killing an opponent, it can’t.

Gurren Punish

• JB > GP connects
• GP has no damage proration.
• When an opponent air guarded GP, Tager was able to guard immediately. GP may no longer be punishable when guarded in the air.
• Even after GP was guarded in the air, Tager can follow up with a JB. May be strong against opponents that try to use invincible attacks in the air.
• GP has a higher hitbox, could not hit an opponent in standing position when performing a rising GP
• Tager does a high jump > Hazama aims for an anti-air 2C > Tager swings a GP > both attack wiffs > Tager does a JB upon landing > Hazama gets punished.

Supers:

GETB

• Damage reduced to 4720. However, with OD and AF, the damage spikes to 5852

• ~3C>AC Wiff>5B>2C>GF Wiff >5B~ But if we’re talking about stability ~3C>AC Wiff>2C>GF Wiff>5A>5B~ is more reliable.

Changes (mostly good):

Catapult (360B)

• Has invincibility, leads to the good damage we were hoping for if opponent doesn't OD.
• It has a large windup animation though, and can be jumped out of on reaction if they're used to seeing it.
• Startup is somewhere between mid to late 20F
• invincibility lasts the entire startup, I think. Invuln'd through jin's 5C cleanly.
• At first is seems to only pull a little, but after a while it pulls a lot. Really sucks the opponent in.
• B Command Grab is the old A Driver (Slower Startup and greater magnetic pull).
• Able to pursue with 5C if you don’t use the followup command. The followup command is the usual B Driver (GF Connects)
• B Driver damage output = 2500 (other report says 2700) with followup input. Without followup input, can pursue with 5C>6A>2C>CT>5B>5C>AC>GF damage output = 4500.

A Driver

• Startup is like the old B Driver, use for fast mixup
• Doesn't seem like there's much invincibility
• Damage is unchanged, so it's completely just for mixup
• Pull-in seems stronger, pulls pretty far when charged
• A Driver damage output is 2500

Gadget

• There's been a lot of opinions on this, but it's an interesting change in its own right and won't shine if you play brainlessly
• Puts up a distance about equal to what you start a round at
• To help the imagery, it's a range at which even 5B won't reach
• Huge increase in frame advantage, greatly changing the options available to both players. Personally, I'm good at correctly anticipating their next move, so I think it's good.
• Gadget Finger = better frame start up
• When GF rapid Cancels into a collider causing mixup, due to the collider being weakened, this seems to be no longer able.

Buffs(Alot):

Overall magnetic pull seems stronger.

Gurren Punish(Crimson Punisher)

• Damage increased, frame disadvantage post-hit slightly decreased?
• Of note is the whiff recovery being reduced to about 20F, might be able to do stuff with this. Yes, just like air driver during the CP loctest... probably going to get removed

A Sledge

• A Sledge airhit properties are like CS2 and cause a slight float. Wallbounce removed in exchange.
• A Slegde bounds the opponent high enough so 3C connects
• 3C>A Sledge>5A>jA>jB>jC>Crimson Punisher connects

A Normals

• A, 2A back to being F starters (assuming this means buffed back to Fast from Very Fast)

• unmagnatized 6A's pull-in is just as strong or stronger than magnatized, allowing you to go into 2C unless you hit with the very tip of it.
• the idea of using 6A>4D to gain close range frame advantage is befitting of a grappler character and seems interesting.

• A＞B＞6B works on crouching, but not standing
• B＞6B works on standing
• A＞C works on crouching, while A＞6B does not. Current theory is 1F slower startup, making it 16F.

• 4D Wall Splat at corner

Nerfs:

• 5D hit causes sliding like in CS2, making it hard to combo both midscreen and in the corner. Even counterhit only bounces them back about 1/3 of the screen, like CS2 Spark Bolt. (From video 5D In corner gives high spinning knockback like CPEX Bsledge airhit)
• 3C no longer gatlings from 6A, making it harder to randomly go into Gadget.
• Collider is useless? (From video collider looks the same as CPEX)
• 5C startup slower?
• 5A>5B>Grab wiff>GETB seems impossible to do

Still the Same:

• Can use most of the current combos, but can’t use 3C so easily (because 3C no longer gatlings from 6A)

3. Are there any B&B combos anymore i used to just roll everyone online with mike z combos, tager seems way more about the long timing strict combos now.

4. Does any1 use the d pad? mayb im just getting older but the stick feels less reliable then it did on 360.. doesn't always do what i tell it(mayb its just my fingers).

5. Whats peoples thoughts on the hakumen matchup.. my friend plays him and literally just counters anything i do unless i put flawless pressure on him.

I was wondering what some tips for using him would be in certain match ups.

Versus: Kokonoe and Arakune.

The thing I have trouble with most when facing Kokonoe is that her gear prevents me from moving at all without the use of 6D.  236D is usually my go-to tech to avoid the huge fireball, normal fireballs, or to force Kokonoe back to me. Outside of that I have no idea how to maneuver.

In the air, I usually go j.A > j.B, j.C, then try to force them into 360A. This usually leads to me being outsped in the air, or easily countered.

Against Arakune, what should I do to cause pressure? Ara's 2C always finds it's way to punish me, and when cursed I can do nothing when there is distance between us.

Any help?

My problem is I have a terrible time getting combos started. Tager's awkwardly short and clunky normals throw me off on which ones to start with, what to throw out to start a combo with, when to throw moves out my normals to punish things and get a combo going.

Right now at best, I catch a luck hit into Spark Bolt into the 5B>5C>j.ABC>Grand Punish but other than that, not really much. 

Any suggestions on what to do?

1. Intro

This guide is currently based on assumptions and observations of the BBCS:Extend and will likely not be 100% accurate until the frame data is released

Do you think bigger is better? Do you think that the floor is a perfectly good weapon to use against our opponents repeatedly? Do you like being able to destroy an entire stage with someone's face and yet somehow come across as calm and collected? You've come to the right place.

This guide is an incredibly in depth look at everything Tager, with the exception of extensive combo and reset lists. If you are new to Tager, I suggest you familiarise yourself with the detailed moves list in the second and third posts before delving into the detailed strategy is the first post. 3. General Information

"The Power of science!"

  Tager fits the bill of the Mighty Glacier archetype, meaning his mobility is very limited (He has no forward dash or double jump) but if he does get in close he can inflict heavy damage on the opponent, he also possesses the highest health in the game (1000hp clear of the next toughest), but this is counterbalanced by his massive hitbox making him an easy target sometimes. In order to avoid such damage, Tager's opponents have to anticipate his attacks and act accordingly. Try not to be predictable as any experienced opponent will make short work of you! The following sections detail various parts of his gameplay, finished off by an in-depth look at every move he has.

      In general, Tager's damage, abare (Ability to get good damage off of random hits) and heat gain have been strengthened, meaning he now needs fewer opportunities to score damage to win a round. He is still heavily dependant on magnetism and momentum for accomplishing anything though.
      
      
      5. Spin Motions
      
      "Gotcha..."
      
      Tager's Gigantic Tager Driver, Genesic Emerald Tager Buster and King of Tager moves all require you to spin the stick once, twice and three times respectively before you push the corresponding button. However, it may seem odd to do so as pointing the stick in the upward direction at least once means that Tager will jump (And none of the mentioned moves are air moves). In order to understand how these moves can be performed at all, you first need to be aware of the following:
      
      
      • For spin motions, it does not matter where you start from, or which direction you spin in.
        
      • Tager's jump takes 6 frames to start up.
        
      • Jump startup is special cancellable for all characters.
        
      • Whilst the move specifies a full circle, in reality only 6 of the 8 directional inputs need to be registered, so long as they are in order.
        
      • Spin motions, like any other direction command, may be input at any time, the game only checks if you are in a position to perform the move when you push the corresponding button.
        
        
        Therefore, it is possible to perform a standing 360 motion by going and then pressing the button, the trick is to do it quick enough so that you special cancel the jump start up, in essence, the stick is only spun 270 degrees rather than the full circle, similarly 720 degree motions only require one and a half full circles and the 1080 motion only requires 2 and a quarter full circles, although it is recommended you spin a bit more as this assumes you don't miss a single directional input. Another common way to prevent jumping is to use a "buffer" which is to perform a quick move that cannot be jump cancelled (2B for example) and perform the upward parts of the spin (as well as the other parts) whilst the move is active and you are unable to jump. Other similar techniques include; performing the spin motion whilst already airborne (Quite a slow and obvious method) and performing the motion whilst blocking (Quite often done when attempting reversals).
        
        6. Throw mechanics
        
        "You Dodged!?"
        
        You may notice that Tager features an awful lot of command throws alongside the usual throws that all characters have, and that they do high damage which cannot be bursted. You may have also noticed inexperienced Tager players to simply attempting to throw at every apparent opportunity and be left wondering why his opponent mopped the floor with him. The same will happen to you unless you understand these few small but massively important bits of information:
        
        (A "Ground throw" is used to describe any attack that is performed on the ground and can only hit opponents with their feet on the ground as well)
        
        
        • Jump startup is ground-throw invulnerable! That is, the moment a player presses up on their controller and begins a jump, they cannot be ground-thrown, even though they haven't actually left the ground yet. This includes when teching, if a player performs an emergency tech and holds up, they will tech and jump immediately, leaving not even a single frame where a ground throw would hit. Therefore standing over a downed opponent holding a Genesic Emerald Tager buster is only going to catch people who don't know this. Trust me when I say that people who play against Tager learn this very quickly indeed, as should you.
          
        • Landing IS ground-throw vulnerable, including from bursts. Therefore you may notice that a lot of Tager's tech traps involve getting your opponent to neutral Tech very close to the ground so they land into his outstretched hand.
          
        • Air techs are briefly invulnerable to hits and projectiles, but not throws. Atomic Collider is a throw and pulls magnetised opponents towards it, I think you can work out what I'm getting at here...
          
        • In the event that a throw would hit at the same time as another type of attack, the throw wins. This just explains why a throw that has its first active frame the same as its first vulnerable frame will still beat out other attacks, even though other moves with that property would trade hits.
          
        • Throws that connect during block or hitstun (Or up to 6 frames afterwards) will cause purple exclamation marks and most opponents will throw reject them. This includes command throws that aren't normally escapable. Learn to space out your throws so that they land just after this time. If you however perform a throw-counter during this time, the purple exclamation marks will still appear, but your opponent will be unable to reject the throw.
          
        • Throws always deal 100% of their normal damage in any situation, regardless of combo proration making the move damage less, or Danger state and Negative penalty raising the damage.
          
        • Once a throw connects, the struck player may not burst until the next hit of the combo or until they tech, similar to Distortion Drives.
          
          
          7. Projectile Guard Points
          
          "How Primitive!"
          
          Tager's Voltic Charge, Sledgehammer and Additional Attack moves all have projectile guard points, this means that any move that has the projectile attribute will get blocked by these moves, even if it has other attributes. Whilst there are a number of moves in the game which are obviously projectiles, there exists a large number of moves that have this property even if they don't look like they should. This is the full list of projectiles in the game:
          
          
          
          • Jin's ice swords, grounded drives (But not the air one) and Touga Hyojin and Hiyoku Getsumei Distortions (Ice arrow and Shockwave)
            
          • Ragna's Dead Spike
            
          • Every one of Lambda's drive moves (Including specials and distortions) and her standing 5C.
            
          • Taokaka's Kitty litter special
            
          • Carl's Gear distortion and everything that Nirvana performs (She is basically one large projectile)
            
          • Any of noel's moves that involves a muzzle flash from her pistols
            
          • Hakumen's projectile void
            
          • Tager's Spark Bolt
            
          • All of Rachel's Specials and Distortions, as well as 5B and 2B.
            
          • Hazama's Drive, 6C, Jakou, Mizuchi Rekkazan (Portal Distortion) and his Senkon Meiraku (Astral)
            
          • Tsubaki's Benedictus Rex (Her Dragon punch move, excludes the D version), the B version of Sanctuss Decus (22B) and also the D version of Aequum Eleison (Bubble projectile)
            
          • Bang's Nails and Steel rain
            
          • Arakune's drives, bugs and distortions.
            
          • Mu's stiens and any move related to them in any way as well as Arrows of Heaven and 6C
            
          • Platinum's magical missiles and bombs, Mystique momo (Weapon eject) as well as the quake from Special Magical Hammer
            
          • Makoto's Comet Cannon and Big Bang Smash
            
          • Litchi's empty handed 5C, her staff when used on its own (With Litchi it isn't a projectile usually), Straight Through, Tsubame Gaeshi, Four winds and all of her Distortions.
            
          • Relius' distortions, as well as everything ignis does (Including the astral)
            
            
            8. Magnetism
            
            "An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it."
            
            Magnetism is the unique property of Tager, each of his drive moves applies magnetism to his opponents on hit or block for a set duration (Henceforth known simply as Magnetises). This stacks up additively to a maximum of 16 seconds (Counting down half as quickly if Tager himself is being hit). A magnetised opponent will have a force exerted upon them during certain parts of specified moves by Tager, dependant on the state of the opponent, (Such moves will now be known as attractive moves). Obeying Newton's first law of motion, opponents effected by magnetism will continue to move even after the attractive move has stopped acting on the opponent. Friction with the floor will cause grounded opponents to come to rest whereas airborne opponents will continue to move, sometimes at great speeds. Attractive moves will effect the opponent differently if they are airborne compared to when they are touching the ground (Downed, crouching or standing), for example, Tager's Atomic Collider move will drag airborne opponents towards his hand, but won't affect grounded opponents at all.
            
            Due to the way Magnetism can be used to reposition your opponent, combos inflicted against magnetised opponents can typically yield much greater damage than against un-magnetised opponents.
            
            Note: For the purposes of magnetism, an emergency roll (Bounce Tech) is considered airborne, however it is not possible to change how long the roll lasts. In other words, you can move your opponent horizontally towards you, but you cannot drag them upwards or downwards, as this would change how long the roll lasted.
            
            9. Combo Structure
            
            "Learn to use your power!"
            
            As of BBCS:EX Tager has gained a rather large selection of combo paths and various other links which work in some situations and not others. During a combo, your choice for the next section of the combo is based on:
            
            • Magnetism
              
            • Available Heat
              
            • Spark bolt availability
              
            • Avoiding repetition of moves with Same Move rates
              
            • Combo Proration in effect
              
            • Ensuring a favourable position and magnetism when the combo finishes
              

            So rather than studying pre-built combos from a list, it is better in the long run to gain the ability to piece together combo sections, sections which are chosen based the criteria above. Here are some common combo paths (Not full combos!):

            With these paths, you can than piece together your own combos based on the situation, for example:

            If it all looks a bit complex for now, practice the individual parts and also watch some match videos in order to understand which parts to use when.

            Additionally, during Fatal Counter combos, the following options open up:

            Grounded:

            236A or B, 5A

            5A > 5C

            5C > 5D (Opponent must also be crouching)

            5B > 6A (Opponent must also be crouching)

            In the air:

            5A > 5C

            5C > 6C

            5B > j.2C

            2B > 236A

            2B > 236236B (Although I have no idea why you'd use this)

            j.D, 5B (Both you and your opponent must be very close to the ground)

            These will only work early in the combo before proration scaling takes effect, however it does mean you can perform other combo paths later in the combo than you would otherwise be able to and also generally makes combo timing more lenient.

            10. Tech Traps and Other resets

            

            "Fatal Mistake!"

            Due to Tager's horrible character combo rate, most of the Damage of Tager's combos occur within the first few hits (With a few exceptions), therefore it is often worth sacrificing the highest-possible damage ender for a favourable position as discussed above, since it's not much damage sacrificed. When a combo ends and a new one is started, all of the combo scaling starts over meaning two short combos will do substantially more damage than one long one, this is known as a "Reset". Tech Traps are situations where if a player techs, he immediately gets hit by his opponent and a new combo starts, whereas if he hadn't teched at all the attack would've either blue-beat (Thus not resetting the combo) or missed altogether. This section describes the theory behind the traps rather than an exhaustive list of examples, since that is a whole new thread in itself,

            Tager's true tech traps can largely be boiled down into one of the following:

            [*]launching your opponent so they air tech and get sucked into Atomic Collider (Or an airthrow)

            [*]Placing them in the air close to the ground so they tech and you grab them out of the landing recovery

            There is also a blurred line between what is a tech trap and what is okizeme since both have the goal of scoring a new combo from a position caused by a previous combo. What makes Tager's tech traps unique is that he has readily available unblockable moves which, in ideal cases, mean that if the opponent techs are the wrong time in the wrong way, then there's nothing stopping you from hitting them with the attack. In reality though most tech traps have an escape, but relies on your opponent acting in time to the situation you've put them in. Given the speed at which a combo can turn into a tech trap, this means that your opponent often has to anticipate the trap, rather than react to it. An opponent who simply refuses to tech can just be bluebeat until they do, or you gain the downed-state reset (Lying on the ground too long gives your opponent a reset if they hit you). Here are they key points to remember when adding tech traps into your game:

            [*]Be quick; Speed is everything, if your opponent doesn't notice the trap until after you've reset the combo, so much the better.

            [*]Be unpredictable; A common newbie mistake is to always use the same small number of traps in the same parts of the same combos, respect your opponent's ability to learn.

            [*]As well as using traps at different times, use different traps with different escape mechanisms; Give your opponent something to think about, some traps can be beaten by not teching, others that just leads to a bluebeat when they could've teched and done a quick attack or teched late.

            [*]Make it look like part of a combo; Your opponent knows what your combos look like, therefore if you start deviating from the combo with an odd or unexpected move, then your opponent will realise you're setting up a trap and be much more likely to escape it.

            [*]Appear to be making a mistake; Moves that look like they're part of a combo but whiff give the impression that you've left yourself wide open to a counterattack when they tech, giving you a much greater chance that they won't have anticipated your trap move

            [*]Mess up the timing of their ground tech using magnetism; Goes hand in hand with the first point, dragging your opponent to the ground and letting them tech gives them a little bit less thinking time, which raises the chance of you hitting with your trap move or okizeme

            To illustrate my point, here are some examples:

            (Magnetised) 3C CH, 5B > 5C > 6A > 2C > 623[C]

            This move knocks the opponent high into the air and then drags them back into the atomic collider. Normally this series would combo, but if you hold the Collider out a little bit longer then they can tech and you will be able to reset the combo from there.

            ... 3C > 22D(whiff), 360B

            This can be done from any combo that can end with 3C. The trick is that it you deliberately whiff the Gadget finger by only tapping the button, making it look like you've messed up. You opponent will likely emergency tech on the floor when they weren't expecting to and this will leave them open for the throw.

            ... 623C (Into corner), 236B > 236A, 360B

            This ages-old trick exploits the fact that if your opponent air techs the Additional Attack, then they will land right in front of you, sandwiched between you and the wall and you can just grab them out of the landing recovery.

            There are many, many more than this, have fun experimenting!An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.

            11. Gadget Finger Shenanigans

            

            "You have no-where to run!"

            Gadget finger is a tricky little move that appears at the end of many of Tager's combos and puts your opponent in a tricky situation where you both must out-guess each other's response, but with the odds often stacked in your favour in terms of risk/reward given magnetism and Tager loves to be close to his opponent. Since this move is so telegraphed, your opponent will never be surprised by it, so therefore this is one of those times where you have to assess your opponent's probable reaction. Players who are winning tend to behave differently to those who are currently losing, for example. Listed below are the common options open to you:

            5A:

            A safe choice in many cases and your slight frame advantage from gadget finger ensures you will always beat out other 5As. Stuffs any heavier attack or throw attempt, will force jump-outs to land (Or hit them in jump startup if you're frame-perfect in starting your 5A) and will miss backdashes, but safely so. Will lose to reversals.

            Block/Backdash:

            Use this against opponents with good reversal moves, since such moves often have horribly punishable recovery times. A well timed backdash in particular will allow you a counter attack and deny your opponent the chance to Rapid Cancel his attack.

            Atomic Collider:

            Ideal move for calling out chicken blocking opponents (Jumping away and barrier guarding) since this move doesn't care if they have barrier or not, and leads into big damage on hit. Obviously loses to them just attacking you, but often if they backdash they won't have time to punish you for it.

            Throw (One of the many):

            A tricky one this. One one hand, if you throw asap (except 360A) then you will always get a purple throw, but if they're mashing buttons then you'll throw them anyway due to a throw coutner. Normal throws are useful here since if they jump and block, you will likely recover before they realise you can be hit, whereas the command throws recover too slowly for this if they miss.

            5C:

            Used for catching backdashes and also jump attacks, due to its big and tall hitbox. Obviously loses to jabs and other quick moves from your opponent. If you do get a hit with this, get ready to some real damage since this is one of Tager's best combo starters.

            There are obviously a few more choices than the above, but I shall leave that to you to experiment with.

During OD, off midscreen A Driver we can pick up with 5B>4D which bounces them back, so there's probably more we can follow up with after.

Despite not having head invuln anymore, 2C untechable time on counter is long, making it usually favorable even on trade.

D moves seem to have no damage change during OD.

B Driver>Gadget>rc seems to leads to pretty good damage.

B Driver>Gadget>rc>2C>Collider>Diagonal Spark>Wheel did over 5100.

Tager's CT is chargable, but it doesn't have any magnetic pull. Staggers on hit.

You can throw after a guard crush, but do note that the stagger can be teched.

A guard crush can be confirmed into OD>GETB for an unburstable 5600.

JC movement>Gurren results in some pretty interesting movements.

JC momentum carries over to Gurren, allowing you to fly about double the distance of regular JC movement.

You can use it to hit people who try to punish your JC movement recovery, or just use it to cover large distances (for Tager) in one go, etc.

Of course, you're wide open on block so it's a bit of a gamble if you don't have 50% meter, but if you do it from midrange, Gurren sort of crosses over and does a hit-and-away, making it not easily punishable even on block.

Additionally, Gurren starter RC combos do pretty good damage, so going on the offensive with it when you have 50% meter might not be a bad option.

・Normals

• 5A、5B、5C、JA、JB、JC、2A、2B、3C、6A: No changes as far as I can tell.
  
• The magnetism time increase for all D moves has gotten pretty short. Pull on all moves seem unchanged?
  
• 5D: Knocks away on ground hit.
  
• JD: Knocks them away forward. Causes wall bounce on air normal hit. Air counter hit causes wall stick.
  
• J2C: Counter hit causes floor bounce. 3C doesn't connect on air normal hit? Fatal confirmed
  
• 2C: Untechable time on normal hit increased. Delay AS connects. FC property removed.
  
• 2D: Causes sliding down on air normal hit. 5A connects in corner. Depending on character (or magnetism) 5B connects too. Now has repeat proration.
  
• 4D: Causes wall bounce on air normal hit. Repeat proration added.
  
• 6B: Jump cancelable only on hit. Air hit causes ground bounce. JB, JD, 6C, etc goes into J2C on air hit.
  
• 6C: Doesn't knock away on ground hit. AS connects. Causes ground bounce on air hit? J2C, JD, JB, Collider, etc connect. Seems to now have a minimum range? In exchange, hitbox looks like it extends quite a bit farther and higher.
  
• Throw: Launch is low. Special cancelable, but after an as-soon-as-possible BS nothing else connects. Collider might be the only followup?
  
• Back throw: Unknown. 5C connects.
  
• Air Throw: Can combo after,Comes out fast,Can go straight into Wheel for anti-burst
  
• CA: Emergency techable after the down. Recovery is reduced, so it's maybe even (frame-wise) or better if emergency teched? Nothing really connects even if you RC it.

  • The only thing that connects after each is Gadget
    
    
    Collider:
    Opponent can now tech before hitting the ground and also emergency tech. On the other hand, opponents count as "downed" without having to purposely set them up as such, allowing Gadget to connect even straight from Collider. There's not much in the way of followup. Midscreen, without magnetism, meter, or Spark, 2D may very well be the only thing it goes into. When not magnetized, Spark works. When magnetized, 6A seems to work? In the corner, you can go into 5B from the 2D. 3C Collider whiff launch strength is low, making J2C not work. Seems best to go into delay 5B, delay 5C>6B, or as soon as possible 6B instead. If your back is to the wall, Wheel connects. As soon as possible 6C>5D connects on some characters (or magnetism).

    • GETB: Damage decreased to 5020. Pull is unchanged.
      
    • Wheel, Terra Break: Terra Break doesn't cause bounceback and just knocks them away.

      Angled Spark:
      The hitbox is enough to make it hit even a grounded opponent up to mid-range. Easy to follow up after with stuff like 5C, Collider.
      
      

      
      
      

      C Driver:
      Can be held to keep pulling. Even at mid~long range, magnetized it has about as much suction as Collider, but it can cause the opponent to fly off or circle around you. The actual throw hitbox is on the small side? Especially in the vertical direction I think. You can't use it during jump startup, so it's a little tough to use on reaction to an opponent's jump. No invincibility? After hitting with it, only GF connects. Both held and non-held versions have pretty long landing recovery. After CD, you can't do anything until you land. If you don't hold it you'll retain your jump momentum, and if you do you'll lose it and stop in place. As expected, it's weak against 6A-type ground anti-airs. You can sort of use it like Collider to counter low air dashes, bait techs, or pull magnetized people out of high jumps, etc. It's main merits are that it has higher returns compared to Collider, connects with no problems if they're in range, and is less succeptable to punishes/combos because Tager himself is in the air. When pulling someone in, even if you get ch it's hard for them to follow up. It's easier to land if the opponent is higher up than you are. It also exerts a slight pull on opponents on the ground as well.

      
      
      

      Grand Punish:
      Looks like an overhead but is actually a mid. Can be canceled into from all jump attacks except J2C. If the arm sweep hits he goes into the body press motion. Regardless of how high it's done, you can't do anything until you hit the ground. Because of that, it's probably heavily minus on block? Startup is relatively fast, so if you have meter it might be viable as an air-to-ground move? Either way, it's doesn't seem like a good move to randomly throw out during footsies. It can be RCed both before and after the body press, so it may have combo potential. Minimum damage is around 500. In midscreen combos you can magnetize with JD and then finish with Gurren, so it's pretty nice. After Gurren you might be at a frame advantage? Although dealing with the opponent's teching seems like a pain. If they roll tech as soon as possible that's probably a guarranteed GETB. Low air Gurren (blocked)RC might work as a JB/low/throw 3 way mixup?

      
      
      

      Crush Trigger:
      Puts them behind you on hit, so a distance opens up even if you hit at super close range. Can be followed up with stuff like 5D.
      
      
      Probably makes throws purple. Needs investigation. Has repeat proration.
      
      

      
      
      

      Over Drive:
      
      
      • Has a slight, constant pull on magnetized opponents. Pull is around that of or slightly more than a held 6A when you just start holding it. It also changes the various D moves.
        
        
      • 5D: Triggers the counterhit effect even on normal hit and causes the opponent to bounce back. This works even in combos.
        
        
      • 4D: Same as 5D. In the corner, doing ~5B>4D causes them to bounce away overhead.
        
        
      • 2D: Causes opponent to fly away on normal hit (sliding down). Looks weak.
        
        
      • JD: Both ground and air hits cause the opponent to follow the 5D trajectory and come back. Looks strong.
        
        
      • Reversal OD activation→Check situation⇒GETB/Wheel seems doable.
        
        
      • During OD, electric gauge fills rapidly. What normally takes about 20 counts to fill takes maybe 5? Although it doesn't fill during combos (goes back to original speed?).
        
        
      • If your health is in the red, OD lasts relatively long.
        
        
      • Activation can be canceled into from all normals besides 4D, 2D. Can't be done from specials.

        • If you're going to OD mid-combo, it seems best to OD from a magnetized raw Collider. 5D after will (probably) connect and trigger the counter effect, causing them to bounce back and continuing the combo.             • The Spark gauge seems to build up at about the same rate.

            [*]Eventhough AC has weaker pull up from the ground it has much stronger pull from out of the air.

            [*] Air Driver j360C. Can be delayed attracting magnetized opponents. Air Driver keeps the jump’s momentum until you start charging it. When you do, Tager stops in midair, and then falls straight down.

            Overdrive:

            [*]Overdrive lasts for about 4 seconds at full health.

            Crush Trigger:

            [*]Crush Trigger is an upward strike with the right hand wrapped in lightning. You can hold it, though it doesn’t have the pull. Hitting airborne opponents knocks them down, which you can follow up with a combo.
