Sorry if there's already a similar post ^^;;

As the title suggests, what got you into the series? Guilty Gear? Perhaps wanting to play something other than Street Fighter and Tekken. Or just an avid fighting game fan.

For me, I recall my friend playing it during a game day at my university. The graphics were beautiful. A week or so later, he did a short presentation on it during class. I've been looking for a game that I could play competitively so afterwards, I asked him about it: If there was a sequel, how long he's been playing it, etc. By this time, I figured I'd give it a try and borrowed another friend's BB:CTP after looking up the characters online and decided I wanted to play the laid-back kitty cat ^o^

Fiddled around with it til Friday rolled around and tried it on a console and was hooked ever since.

By far the most disappointing and awkward experiences I've ever had with a controller of any kind. I'd rather try to use a move controller for my inputs. Even after investing several hours into heavily modding the controller into something I thought might work for me with time, I was sad to find out that it was still a complete failure.

I'm most disappointed since the entire FGC raves like these things are the be all, end all to fighting game controllers.

I really am having a hard time imagining how in the world any of you all use one of these things.

Hey guys, I've been playing Abyss mode as I find it quite entertaining. I know I still have light years to go before being as good as I want to be, but I've been doing alright. Perfects probably 70% of the time. But I've hit a road block at level 400. Unlimited Hakuman. I've played all the way up to him twice (68 victories leading to him each time) but he just shit stomps me. Now, I like playing the game but this shit is retarded. I play almost 70 matches consecutively to be raped and get a GAME OVER. Fuck. Anyone have any tips to keep me from smashing my face through the TV? I'm using Hazama, if that matters.

Hey. I've had BBCSEX since about August. I blasted through story mode, unlocked almost the entire gallery, and can't wait for CP. I love almost everything about this game. But whenever I play online or even against friends everything feels awkward and I struggle through it. After how much practice I've put onto it I still can't pull out even one round. I constantly get fed up and just want to give up. But for some reason, I get this guilty feeling in my gut, like I shouldn't drop it and keep on trying. I can't decide what to do so that's why I made this thread.

I'm sure even us Vita players have had our moments on the little console, but due to peripheral constraints, we are not able to share these moments with the rest of the world (aka Youtube). So this thread is geared towards people offering advice/solutions regarding this little dilemma thus far. So far we have three options:

<1> Manual Recording: The sloppiest/most convenient way to record to date. This method simply involves grabbing your handycam and aiming it at the Vita's screen.

<2> Hardmod Capture Card: This is the cleanest and most effective method thus far. You can buy the DIY kit or send in your Vita at this website: http://katsukity.blog123.fc2.com/ Yet again, this has it's own share of problems, mostly regarding hefty prices, shady tinkerers, and import customs.

<3> Speculation: The Vita has a cross-saving feature with the PS3. I have not had the opportunity to experiment, but if it it possible to transfer Replays from Vita to the PS3 console, and record from there, a tutorial would be greatly appreciated.

Discuss solutions/advice below.

Anyway, let's get down to business. Since there is Nu13 as Lambda's UF in CS, how about switching things up a bit with some characters unlimited forms, like Hazama's unlimited form could be Terumi without the hat on, or (if we ever see them) an unmasked Hakumen or Relius?

Hi everyone !

As you know, the third episode of Blazblue will be out soon on PS3 and unfortunately, only on PS3. It seems that Arc System Works doesn't want to change its mind, but we can still try something.

A petition was made to ask Arc System Works to make a Xbox 360 porting, the primary objective being to spread the petition as much as we can.

It was self-evident that Dustloop would be the best way to spread the word, so here it is.

Know that this petition will also be translated in japanese, and so we'll try to manage it to Japan also.

I would like to thank the French BB community for their initiative, and also thank you to anyone who signs the petition.

Obviously I'm more adept with some characters than others and don't know how to use some at all so it isn't
"max" damage, but these combos still do a respectable amount.

How do you all feel about the overdrive mechanic? It seems like a comeback mechanic, and what is your stance on comeback mechanics in fighting games? I found this article discussing the direction of blazblue, and the introduction of a comeback mechanic.

http://letstalkaboutgaming.blogspot.com/2013/02/irrelevant.html

Great article with very valid points. The only one really concerning for me, is the overdrive mechanic.

This is really bad news, for me personally. I can't stand comeback mechanics, and yet, its becoming the new trend in fighting games.

How can they not see how a comeback mechanic DEFEATS THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF FIGHTING GAMES?

A player who is losing SHOULD NOT be given an unfair advantage to make up for their LACK OF SKILL. This NEGATES all form of balanced, skill based competitive play. To me, this is just ridiculous and if this trend continues I will only play old school fighters like the original GGS and Third Strike.

If a player lacking in skill, gets his ass handed to him the entire match, is granted bonuses to damage, health, and priority, and then wins, THAT WIN IS NOT LEGIT. That player won not by skill, but by a blatant advantage GIVEN to them for their lack of skill.

Does anyone else feel the same? This has honestly, really irritated me. I don't even want to play CSE anymore, knowing that CP has comeback mechanics. This franchise is practically dead to me now. WHY DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO FIGHTING GAMES?

I swear, if the new GG features a comeback mechanic, I'm done with fighters. forever. Well, I take that back. Maybe American devs will start developing better ones, since the Japanese love to abandon all traces of common sense.

Thoughts? Opinions? Am I over reacting or are these concerns justified?

The shade, the shade of it all. I can't believe CP is only going to see a NA release on PS3. I only have a 360 and with the new systems coming out, I see little point in buying a PS3 now when I could get a PS4. However, the PS4 won't have backwards compatibility, so what to do? I know I'm one of many both on this site and in general who is in this boat. The question I have for all of you is, if we start up a petition for a 360 NA release, do you think it could possibly saw Aksys/ASW to rethink things? I want CP soooooo bad and this is a huge letdown. If there is anything we can do about it, I say we get on it NOW.

Reaction Time Analysis

I created this thread to help out anyone having trouble reacting to certain attacks. So to start off, the average reaction time is about 200 to 300 milliseconds.

After some quick math, you can tell 1 frame is 16.6-onward milliseconds. Now, for example, a green grab has 15 frames until you can't reject it anymore, so: 15x16.6= about 250 milliseconds, right in the middle of the average. Now, you're probably asking "Are you crazy?! Reacting to green throws? Preposterous.", In which case, you'd be right.

Certain things affect reaction time, most importantly in BlazBlue, variables. Variables increase reaction time by a considerable amount, which we all use to our advantage, in the case of "overhead or low" mixup attempt.

Now, to test this, Blackwing55 and I entered a test match. Before researching, we thought Jins' overhead was nearly impossible to react to, however, during testing we were pleasantly surprised. We had no trouble reacting to that trademark twirl, and after doing the math, it makes sense. 16.6×19= about 316 milliseconds, which even those with slower reaction times would be able to react to.

Now, an easy way to improve your reaction time is to simply know the options. If you're having trouble with a certain blockstring, see if you can get someone to help you practice with it.

With this being my first thread created, let me know if it breaks any rules I didn't notice. That being said, feel free to ask any questions if you need help.

So recently I decided to give BlazBlue a try and got Extend in anticipation for Chrono Phantasma.

Now I'm letting you guys pick a character for me to learn and play. I'm not asking which one is the best or what you think I'll like the most, just whatever character you guys decide.

Even though I'm just learning this game, this is just going to be a fun side character that I'm going to put some effort to learning.

Hopefully learning some interesting things and motivate me to play more and have fun while I'm at it.

For those who don't care why can skip ahead, but for the curious I just want to do something different and new. When I got P4A, I decided to play as Kanji just because I wanted to.

Normally I don't really like the grappler type, but I had a lot of fun with him (though Kanji is a bit of an exception when it comes to grapplers).

I got to play a fighting game in a different way than I normally do and I'd like to do the same here.

So go ahead, choose any character at all. No reason necessary for the character, just let me know and whoever is chosen most I'll start learning.

My main right now is Hakumen, and if you want to be generous I would like to play Ragna.

If you want to mess with me (here's a tip, I don't like Platinum's character) and choose a low tier character or there's someone you'd like to see online more then go ahead.

So hopefully people will chime in so I can see people's opinions and a diverse character selection.

Voting is done and Arakune is the winner.

Thanks everyone.

Votes:

Arakune - 3

Makoto - 2

Relius - 2

Taokaka - 2

Jin - 1

Tager - 1

Valkenhayn - 1
