Questions from EU

Hi people,

 

Im a big fan of fighting games and i just found out that GGxrd is out already, sadly not in europe (yet).

now im wondering if anyone from EU has imported it and tried it online.

I really want to play it, but i dont want to spent 70 euro for an import version that wont get patches or has a lot of lag issues due to regional problems.

does anyone know what i can expect in that matter? Or does anyone have heard rumors about EU release?

There's at least about 30-50 people in the French lobbies, a bit less on the other regions. Generally 10-20 at least during peak hours. Delay is 1~5f from Finland <-> France unless the opponents connection sucks. Same Region delay can be up to 1 frame. I had 1 Frame delay with a friend who lives in the same city.

 

You can always buy the Japanese version if you're scared of lacking updates on the US version. It's 99% texted with English, except a few cut scenes and some pictures.

if your nickname is any indicator and you're from germany check out hardedge.org, the german fighting game community.

Currently there's at least 5-10 people from Germany or Austria on my friendlist playing every evening and the french lobby is stuffed as the previous poster mentioned.

 

You get all the patches für english/japanese version, no problem.

No news about EU-release, sadly, so if you want to play, importing is the way to go.

and if i want to play ranked? what are my chances to not get super-lag every game im matched with people from US?

will i be matched with those closest to me or is US-import only matching me with US people? im afraid that, if it would be like that, id have to buy the game again once (if) its released in my region ._.

No idea about ranked, sorry, only tried like once after the patch and didn't find anyone with a good connection.

The players i know are mainly doing player matches, so maybe there's just noone playing on ranked right now.

As someone from Denmark, I can confirm that it's very easy to get matches in this game.

I don't play a lot of Ranked, though. From what little experience I do have, it's gonna take a while to get any matches there. Lobbies are the way to go if you just want to fight.

In any case, you can select who to search for when playing Ranked, EG: 3 bars and above only, so lag shouldn't be too big of an issue.
