From a general perspective, I understood that Nat Type 3 can't connect to Type 2 connections while Type 1 is open, so it can connect to both. Does that still apply to GGXrd?

Also to note: I'm on a campus server, which has a strict NAT Type 3 connection. Like, Draconian strict. No amount of adjustments I've made (wireless or wired) would be able to change that. Though I can still play with others with little lag so long as they are +3.

I think NAT Type applies to connections in general.. weirdly back in my SFIV days my friend who had garbage internet before had NAT Type 3 and I was NAT Type 1, and we still connected.

and you said you're using a campus server, and both wired and wireless have no major difference?

Feels like my internet connection ; _; (except for the campus part)

Im glad someones talking about this subject, im having issues connecting to most, my nat type is 2 and upnp is available, but lately cant connect with hardly anone. Im in the UK, I can go into lobbys but as soon as I start a match is says connection lost, this also happends a lot when I enter rooms after a second or so it says connection lost, its driving me nuts. It also seems to happend on BBCP where as I never had a problem before. Other games like ultra street fighter seem to work fine. Do i need to look into portforwarding although I heard that can be risky or is anyone else having these issues?

There's a thread already discussing port forwarding, so go there.

Also yeah, you entering a room only meant you can connect to the host, not the other people that host can connect with. So if you're not at the right NAT Type for them, no match. That much I learned from playing games like Warframe and Awesomenauts for the PS4.

Thanks for that, Im not sure if its a portforwarding issue because i can connect to some but in the past ive had no probs really its only been last few weeks, i was just wondering if anyone else mainly around europe was having the same issues? Ive reset my router but still the same, maybe ill have to change my crappy BTHH5 which is known to be buggy, thanks for the reply tho..

You mean, trying to play against someone and says "unable to initiate the match" right? Yeah, it happened to me as well and is really annoying, but sometimes depending on the day you can play against those same players without any problems and without doing anything, so this is really confusing. In Ranked match I haven't had any problems playing against people regardless of having too much delay or not in the end, if it were not because most people playing there are Japanese I would certainly play always in Ranked.
