Shujinko: You know what time at PC Gamerz? I know where it is, just thought I'd ask where because other(s?) posted different locations on BBCS casuals. Kaneohe isn't far from us...will take some time to get there, but if you give us a general time and tell us what day (3 weeks?) we'll come down. We're free the entire day....

It would be cool to organize whatever BB players we have here and gain some sort of community....I mean this island is small enough that you guys can say PC gamerz and majority of us can make it there.....save for people in town but that's no big deal to them >__>;;; Solar and I are still kinda newbish, but we'd be willing to come down and play and meet other BB players.

Kurokun: ...It was Solar's first time at an anime convention, so naturally she would ask "what's this from?" since she doesn't have too much of an idea about anime/manga these days. I could name most of the cosplayers there, but then a Tao player walked by, and we liked the character design (not entirely the cosplay, it was okay), but then we didn't know what the series was from, our friends knew what it was from, told it was from Blazblue, and we did our research and....yeah got the game. We're artists so good character designs and pretty art will suck us in....and good gameplay and a storyline will make us continue to play it.

I went to Brians and I could dash, iad, JC's were so easy, going into itsuu was so easy DX Ryuuisou was easier to do, and I could do blockstrings way better than on a controller. It feels awkward to me....getting combos in I would have to relearn, but I turned on my controller when I got home and started playing and...yeah...felt awkward.

Plus regardless of what level I am at right now of playing, I still am serious about getting good at this game, so that was enough for me to invest in a TE.

We usually start playing casuals around 8pm or so. The SSF4 tourny normally doesnt start till about 10pm. If anything in the future maybe we can run the tournament before the SSF4 tourny starts.

I think we should just see how much people we can coming to casuals for the time being.

wats up random 808 dl thread. i'm here for one more week and i see theres some talk about getting together to play some bb. kaneohe is far, but i'm willing to travel to play if theres gonna be at least 4 people there to play. lemme know the details and i'll try to make it.

Shigz beat me to it but long story short we wanted to play more blazblue and dagger_free (2 and out for MBAA) told me to get the scene going/hype.

My opinion on the 808 BB is that we need more people,find places to gather (have a few ideas), and be more informative so people know where the BB hype is at

I believe that if we can achieve these goals we can have a more competitive scene (tournaments and etc) going.

I really like air dasher's in general so bb is perfect to my tastes and why play BBCT when you can play BBCS *only played MB AND BB

Cool. AFAIK, no one in Hawaii plays those chars in GG, though I somewhat RANDOMLY dabble with Baiken sometimes. Then again, only a few people in Hawaii actually play GG in the first place, lol.

I'll tell you what I told the other person that was looking for online casuals:

Well, there probably are some online BB players in Hawaii, but only a few of them actually post up in this thread, lol. And even then, it's a split playerbase between consoles. So far I see: 3 people w/ XBOX Live ID's and 4 people w/ PSN ID's (the number may change though). And even then, it's up to them whether they decide to add you and play you in online matches.

September 11, 2010 is more or less the day that an 808 BB player has expressed the idea of trying to start up a local BB scene here in Hawaii, in the DL 808 thread anyway via Shujinko's proclamation response to a question of mine. Though the idea for this probably came about earlier than that date. Still, it's better late then never, even though it's only in Fall 2010 when this finally comes about, lol. However, 9/11 remains a day of tragedy regardess, for a few reasons besides the obvious anyway.

I wonder if I'll ever go and pick up a copy of CS someday.

If CS is re-released on a disc with all of the DLC chars and balance patch stuffs, I might consider picking it up then, lol.

If one of my friends here on the Big Island had tried to tell me to go pick up a copy of CT when it first came out, I would probably laugh and then say, "No thanks, I'll pass on the SADLIFE."

I believe the next tournament date is not set in stone because the guy who runs pc gamerz is on vacation. It should be 3 weeks or more from now.

I've been netplaying MB for a really long time. Since Re-Act.

however, I have literally no experience with playing fighting games in real life (which is a markedly different animal) because I grew up on the wastelands for video games that was the big island - and only recently came to honolulu my freshman year at UH. I'm a junior now, but yeah, I guess I'm the typified 'netplay warrior'.

I've got my favorite hrap stick, a ps3, my tower computer, and everything, but no one to play with except online. Expect to see me soon around the scene, and I hope to learn a ton from you all.
