A.X.I.S. Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I'm more concerned with dave having the right outlets for it you know. he has a comp and he has the xbox...his TV is the same as my bros so I don't think we can do it normally...now if we had a medium then maybe we got something.
JoshKaz Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 well I have a spare tv i dont use. its small but its still usable. it has the basic Y/R/W things. but if I know what his tv has I might have something for it to work.
Skye Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I got a Dazzle too, thing is we need two sets of A/V slots. One for input *game into TV* One for output *tv into capture card ~ into computer* That's entirely relative to the tv. If he have a VCR or a DVD player (most which come with both sets) then our problem is insta-solved. That's something we can work out in the coming weeks. I doubt anyone's gonna watch us play CT, we might as well wait it out and get all our equipment so we'll be ready for streaming when we get our hands on CS.
JoshKaz Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 hm. i have a fix for that. 1 male/2 female splitters x2 and av cables. its how I stream, and it sounds like what you're having trouble with. Unless my lack of sleep is playing with me D:
Black Onslaught Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Oh, Skye. Speaking of CS and it's non-spoke of ranbats. Flint has about 6 to 9 guys who are totally down for it. When Fall starts up depending if you guys are free or whatever on Saturdays, we could organize tournaments for Michigan or whatever if I can get a go-ahead for the Community Center here.
Skye Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 6-9 people. Hm... *counts* So that's 17-18 people at max, damn that's good. Lemme break down ranbats. There is an entry fee, 5$, 4 goes in the top 3 rewards, and 1$ goes in the pot. This goes on for a season, and there is a point system in place. At the end of the tournament, the top 8 are given points with first place getting 8 points and 8th place getting one point (this will be the main source of our power rankings too), the points carry for the duration of the season. Explain to me the specifics of the point system Quite frankly, the top 8 are given points. 1st - 8 points 2nd - 7 points 3rd - 6 points 4th - 5 points 5th - 4 points 6th - 3 points 7th - 2 points 8th - 1 point These carry over for the entire season, so lets say on our first the rankings go like this~ 1st - Axis- 8 2nd - Dave- 7 3rd - Troy- 6 4th - Skye- 5 5th - BO- 4 6th - Cyrus- 3 7th - Random player- 2 8th - Grendy- 1 (lol <3 you bro no homo) And perhaps at the end of the next tourney, everyone ranks differently. So~ 1st - Skye- 13 2nd - Troy- 14 3rd - Axis- 14 4th - Grendy- 6 5th - BO- 8 6th - Random player- 5 7th - Cyrus- 5 8th - Dave- 8 (lol <3 you bro no homo) Points based on our rankings last tourney, are added to our rankings this tourney, so as of 2 tourneys in our season, the power rankings would look like this.~ #1 Axis #2 Troy (tied for first technically, but 2nd only through alphabetical sort) #3 Skye #4 BO #5 Dave (tied for 4th technically, but 5th only through alphabetical sort) #6 Grendy #7 Cyrus #8 Random guy (tied technically but yadda yadda) It may not look like this since power rankings usually only list the top 5, giving honorable mention to the other 3 ranking people. But this is basically how it works, after the season is over, we start anew with 0 points for each player. What is a season? It's the time period in which the ranbat takes place, the TO set the time for the season. If it were up to me, I'd say 3 months of bi weeklies is good What is the top 3 rewards specifically? It's the cash that goes to the top 3 ranking people in the tournament. First place wins 70% of the total amount. Second place wins 20% of the total amount. Third place wins 10% of the total amount. What is the pot? The pot is the royalties that goes to the winner of the season, i.e. the one with the most points. The pot is the accumulative amount of what was put in throughout the season, so for example if there was 18 of us, who each entered the entire season (3 month bi weekly), we all pay 5 dollars each entry,so that's 90 bucks put in the tournament, 18 of those bucks go in the pot. Since we meet up 6 times throughout the season, so that's 104 dollars stock up, during the finals of the season, the winner gets that cash. This is basically how it works given from the people I talked to about this. In general this is how ranbats are done nationwide. If there are any questions, I'll try to answer them.
Black Onslaught Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I saw 70% which translates to me doing high-level japanese style tactics of 5D/6D/4D spam and hit confirming into me winning by timeout. mmmmm. My only legit questions are the specifications for the rounds and if time out is enabled ( for me and Rachel LOL players to run like babies ), and stuff like that.
Skye Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Well, we can talk about rules, but generally matches run 2/3 rounds or 3/5 rounds, being 2/3 matches, 3/5 for grand finals. Stalling for time out should be enabled, unless you're playing Smash. lol I don't mind, my character's good at that sort of thing.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 this is awesome...and if we do this MI will be put on the map finally!
Commanderoftroy Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Well there are a few things to concern ourselves with and that is getting up there every weekend and for our fellow players in detroit grabbing rides. I say if we did it twice a month or even once you would have a better chance at a higher turn outs per event. I would have enough room should i stay in this apartment, to run ranbats but again it would pose the problem of getting everyone down to toledo on a consistent basis. I have been wanting to run something in the michigan/toledo area for a long time so i will do what i can to help out.
Commanderoftroy Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I also know of a land line place in toledo but i have never gone there to talk to the people. I do think that if i could garauntee consistent business with our ranbats, i could potentially work something out with them if we cant get the community center at onslaughts place.
Skye Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Well, I'm sure who ever wins the ranbats will have no problem supplying our drivers with some gas money, assuming the winner isn't a driver.
Black Onslaught Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Doesn't sound too bad, also there is a Little Ceaser's across the street from this Community Center, so hype +3 and italian cheese bread.
Leonil_Requiem Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 We rankin? Fasho? i'm in there. where and when.
Skye Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I was personally thinking September, this way we all have adequate time to learn the game and it's a nice time to kick off the season. If no one objects, we can go with 3 month bi weeklies per season. As for where, we can organize that later. We have our options, Troy don't mind hosting, There's a Community Center in Flint that BO's trying to hook us up with, and I think Dave wouldn't mind his place either, we did do a mini 3 on 3 there. If things get too crowded, we can get an extra set up downstairs if it's okay with him and Cyrus. We'll need his confirmation though. I'm also looking into places.
Gates Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Hi guys, my name is Gates and I'm an alcoholic. I play mostly BlazBlue but also a little MvC2, SFIV, HD Remix, Puzzle Fighter, and if I feel like torturing myself Brawl. I live in Birmingham for now which is about a half hour outside of Detroit and pretty close to Troy/Bloomfield/Beverly Hills/etc. In the fall I'm going to be at EMU in Ypsilanti, so anybody in that area can hit me up. I main Arakune and Nu in CT, I enjoy Arakune more but use Nu more because she's just better. I haven't touched CS yet and I'd really like to. I've never played GG but I'd like to someday. So yeah, that's about it. Looking forward to maybe meeting some of you guys in MI. Hit me up on AIM at ryanmartingates to talk or on PSN at RMG8S to play.
Gates Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Yeah, I noticed that lol. So what system are the ranbats going to be on?
Black Onslaught Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 That is a good question. I'm voting for PS3. In Axis words " I don't feel like adapting! " to 360 ever again. ;-;
Skye Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Well, don't quite know if a set console will be standard. As far as we know from our PoHu meet up, Xbox seems to be dominant in MI (including on a technicality, Troy and Grendy who are actually in Ohio). In fact you're the only other active person (besides BO) who uses PS3. But yo if you're using stick, I don't mind lending mine for your matches if you're stuck with an Xbox. BO on the other hand who uses controllers, uh..... We'll have to work that out.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 we need a mic too! everyone has the right to shit talk!
Leonil_Requiem Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Well, in my opinion, since we're all experienced player. several months seem too much for a simple game cross over. in addition, console selection is our smallest inquiry. http://www.renchi.com/renchi/Xbox_360_Accessories_XConverter_360_Plus.htm for all you (2) ps3 users this is the best converter for your most comfortable pad. But in all actuality you all should be on sticks, no?
