Commanderoftroy Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Why don't you guys just come to the ranbats? People are going to be playing CS when it comes out and it will get add'd to the ranbats like it used to be. Well thats not guarenteed and why not run try and get it going ourselves instead of depending on that since we for the most part, are the entire michigan blazblue scene at this point.
Xill Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Well thats not guarenteed and why not run try and get it going ourselves instead of depending on that since we for the most part, are the entire michigan blazblue scene at this point. First off, it can be guaranteed if more people who go to the ranbats want to play the game. It was a part of the ranbats before. Aaron wouldn't mind putting it back it. It was taken out because no one was playing it. If people start, It would be back in, simple as that. There are already a large handful of people who want to get back into it with BB:CS when it was up there on sunday. Heading to a gathering point where people who already play fighting games (And happens to to be convenient placed ) makes perfect sense. Going to D-Ops and Gameyard for casuals and such would make the scene bigger(Which is what we need.). I don't see why we wouldn't make the effort. It would really be dumb on our part not to take that chance.

I'll just link these here for anyone who didn't know already. SRK MI discussion thread: http://shoryuken.com/f21/murda-mitten-michigan-2010-1-2-thread-221052/ SRK ranbat info thread: http://shoryuken.com/f7/mi-ranbats-season-4-garden-city-mi-biweekly-232328/
Commanderoftroy Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Who said anything about splitting the community? If they do want to add it great, give us the details and times and we will see if it works out for most of the people here. If it doesnt we may need to try and find times seperate from that so we can get more to attend. I wasn't suggesting changing gathering points or anything of the sort.
Black Onslaught Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Real talk, I want a ranbat for BBCS that isn't apart of anything else and doesn't have players playing BBCS while they wait their turn for SSFIV or SFHDTR. We already have a good group going in for ranbats and we just need a place to do them.

We already have a good group going in for ranbats and we just need a place to do them. CS is going to be at MI bi-weeklies regardless when it comes out. Why bother making a "Replacement" event people won't want to go to? If you wanted to hold sessions on off weeks that would be one thing, but I don't see the point of having a separate RanBat, TBH.
Leonil_Requiem Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Real talk, I want a ranbat for BBCS that isn't apart of anything else and doesn't have players playing BBCS while they wait their turn for SSFIV or SFHDTR. We already have a good group going in for ranbats and we just need a place to do them. Look, separating the community would just be foolish. There's no such thing as to big of a fighting game community. There's already a community assembled with an ample supply of space waiting for players to come, play and initiate the BB competitive scene. In a different light, think of it as people contributing to the money pot that you'll be trying to obtain when entering the tourneys. The traditional point of a rambats of any kind is to encourage people to come and test there skills competitively against a diverse group of people. To create the largest scene, with the soul intent to gather players in an attempt to preserve a games spot in the minds of people. So we erge you, to come to the rambats in garden city and ann arbor. The atmosphere is friendly and an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Black Onslaught Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Nobody better not take my starbursts there.
Xill Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Nobody better not take my starbursts there. Go to the ranbats. Greats, Not gonna make it this week, got work. But next week, if you're still up for it, i'll gladly swing over and put staff girl on her back with 6A.:3 Also, I'mma leave a msg for Aaron to ask if he could make one of the intro posts a lil clearer concerning casuals. I don't remember seeing them up there. It could be that the aren't exactly offical, but whatever. I haven't seen a day when people don't show up. And lastly, if any you guys want to know something about ranbats, casuals, future games or even a ride share, you can ask it in those those threads. It's a lot easier than having people run info back and fourth for you.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 we really need to handle the ride situation. people like BO needs a ride from where he lives and it took troy an hour from skye's to get there. how are we gonna do this if ranbats start say at 6pm at latest.

Talk to people and try to find a ride would be your best bet. Put where you are on the thread and such. Talk up some serious gas money. Btw, those would be casuals, not ranbats. If you're talking fridays at 6. The ranbats usually start a lot sooner than that. 1-2 P.M. Worse comes to worst, You can catch a cab. Also, not to be a dick or anything, but I don't know of a nice way to say it :P We don't need to handle the ride thing. I got my car. I'm all set. Though you may have to put a bit more effort into get there than I do (Internet wise), It's still up to you to try your best to make it, if you really care -that much-. Honestly, If i didn't have a car, i'd say fuck this whole thing. But i'm not you. So, good luck. Real Talk. People at these ranbats are pretty nice. They don't mind taking a chance once in awhile. Get your name out there dude and waving 10s around. Make someone wanna pick you up.

My weekend is Friday Saturday Sunday on normal weeks so if you guys still really wanna come down on one of those days for practice you more than likely can. I am planning to do some real p-modin with litchi tonight and tomorrow night I haven't really gotten to it yet, things will be a whole different story when I get tech down . Also I'm gona try to go into CS with a new perspective on footsies and spacing now that the top tier isn't all zoning characters, and I think that's going to be necessary to win now (gotta do away with those old CT habits too). My defense could also use some work. I got a feeling that TV we were using lagged because I couldn't perfect block for the life of me but you can't perfect block too much!
A.X.I.S. Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 my only issue is getting a ride back...I can get to gameyard no problem but getting back may be an issue all together. also I may play for the casuals as I am pretty broke.
KEYTARD Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Hey, I guess I'm back. DLing that album nowie, Skye xD Sorry I haven't been on in forever MY LIFE IS SOMEWHAT COMPLEX. Shitty johns, but it's true. Now, this place in Garden City, right? That sounds awesome and I will be there every other week I can, but I don't know how many people I'll be able to pick up. I'd have at least two more from PH with me everytime, and with SSFIV also being there I can see another two wanting to party up as well. Basically I'm way far down with the idea, and will usually be unable to pick anybody up. For the record, BO, I'm following your example and ditching Ky for Snake Johnny.

Me and my bro will be up there on Sun. We'll pick a better tv if we can next time, yeah? P-Mode all you want. I"m bringing CT Ragna with CS frame data. To hype to be free :3 That TV was silly. But still fun. I know I was getting silly overheads and with Ragna mixup, it was almost unfair.. almost. :P We'll get it together next time. Fo-sho.

There's a place in Ann Arbor, Digital Ops. Then there's Gameyard. Garden City, Fridays from about six till whenevers. I don't live in Ann Arbor, but I think they do theirs on tues. It's mainly about SF right now, though there are some GG/BB/3S and Melty Blood players there as well.
Black Onslaught Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Good stuff Keytard. I just got a 4k Jayoku FC down. Although it was by accident, maybe.
Commanderoftroy Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 So we are looking at fridays at 6 in garden city for ranbats or casuals? You guys went up to ann arbor on sunday for ranbats is that a consistant thing for cs right now or are we waiting for it to come out to be there every week.
PapaRhino Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Hey, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm one of MIs SF4 players that's looking to get into CS once it drops, I've got it on pre-order already, SFIV's getting pretty boring to be honest and I like learning new games. It certainly will be at the regular ranbats once it hits, splitting it would just split the numbers and make getting offline matchup experience harder...see you guys on release date! :3
Commanderoftroy Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Well can papa or seon get us some type of schedule as to when ranbats and casuals are going on at gameyard and digital ops?
PapaRhino Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Well can papa or seon get us some type of schedule as to when ranbats and casuals are going on at gameyard and digital ops? http://shoryuken.com/f7/mi-ranbats-season-4-garden-city-mi-biweekly-232328/ It will be added to the games played here, the schedule is there aswell, I'm sure as soon as CS drops it'll just be added to the list. My guess is that after the 25th, AaronS will getting another Michigan Masters tournament together, the MI regional tournament, and it will be introduced there and placed in further ranbats from there on out. Make sure you guys make Michigan Masters 3 when it's announced, as that's going to help decide how big of a scene there really is for CS, and if it's even worth running ranbats for it.
Xill Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Also, Me and my brother will be able to hit more of the casuals when the game actually hits. I live closer to Garden City, so that would be our main spot vs A2. (Since i'm the driver and all.) We'd show up to A2 from time to time, just not as often. We'd hit casuals 2-3 times at month at least, not including ranbats. If Me/My brother are going to make any casuals/ranbats, we'll post it here and in the thread at Srk. Just to make it easy and show who's going, who's not going. For SSF casuals, you don't really need to post that. Everyone plays Super. For bb, it's a bit different. And I'd rather not have it be a waste of time for people that wanna end up going. We'll try and keep each other in the know. You guys do the same, yeah? Oh, and all you guys that still play online BB with people who are from Mi. Tell them about the ranbats/casuals. Get the word out. If you want the scene to get bigger, get the word of mouth running. Hell, the more people come, the better chance of some of you getting a ride. Talk it up.
Skye Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 The flaw in this Seon is that most of us have no rides. Picking up rides is obviously a chore. So since not too many of us can make it to Garden City, the CS ranbats in Game Yard will fall short, as it did in CT. We could try it, since Troy and Dave are cool guys, and I have gas money for them, but as it stands, none of us, except for you and your bro, are guaranteed to be there for ranbats. And there ain't a damn thing stopping us from making one of our own in a more convenient location. Not to deliberately "split the community" as you put it, but as circumstances go, I want to play other people and I'd like a ranking for it. The way I see it it will be more of a Nocal/Socal kind of thing, but on a much shorter scale.

That was kind of my point when talking about trying to get everyone there i feel half of this is about helping others out and i will do that if i can. I figure i can probably get skye and axis if im going to garden city im not sure i have not really looked at the route yet.
Black Onslaught Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I agree with Skye here. The big thing that delayed us meeting up was rides, and even then scheduling it took quite awhile -- of course the result was more than epic excluding the canada thing.
