DusktillGone Posted Sunday at 07:43 PM Posted Sunday at 07:43 PM I'm still a relatively new Strive player with around 33hrs playing mostly Ky and Elphelt; HC looked really cool from all I'd seen and watched, but I wanted to wait until 2.0 to give him a shot. With 2.0, seemingly much of his game plan and overall "rhythm" has been changed due to his changes, and I wanted to see if more experienced players had any input about this and/or tips or advice.
sanquerosa Posted Sunday at 09:36 PM Posted Sunday at 09:36 PM It's honestly pretty similar. Play the midrange, throw out your K buttons like it's your job, get gun out. His fullscreen lockdown is decent between steady aim and portal shots, his midrange is defined by a really juiced f.s and a good 2s, and he's still got roll and overheads once he gets in- provided he has gun out. Curse and scapegoat let him manage space, you can run and gun really well if you want to transition to mixing someone. I like to do this, as he's a pretty low health character with mediocre-at-best defense and someone flailing into your successfully can still lose you the round. Shoutout to gun in neutral. They have to act once you get it out, because once the reticle locks on, you're not playing neutral anymore. I'd say Chaos is about knowing what position to take depending on the gamestate and being able to switch through them fluently as well as vary options- he does have a lot of them. His execution is arguably harder than last patch. Resource management is important as you can't get bullets and focus from a fullscreen wallbreak. Even at midscreen, replenishing both resources and getting a wallbreak requires extremely tight execution. You're often forced to pick and choose between damage, corner carry, oki, and resource. He's very much a two-step character, and hard for sure. But once you do have the gameplan down, it's immensely rewarding. At least for me. I imagine the person I'm playing against isn't having very much fun at all.
