I'm going to extend the invitations to the tekken community. Derrick has been opening up his office for weekly sessions.

The only reason why I'm doing this is to prep up for Nor Cal's minor to come.

Hell I have a friend who plays Tekken on and off so I'll ask him if he wants to go assuming he isn't working. Might as well add it in since there is obviously SOME community around here. Get them involved and who knows, you may find some other GG or MBAA players in the midst of it. Lets just hope adding that won't make the gatherings too big though. 40 people BARELY fit at Devry last time. even another 10 would be a really tight fit unless we get rid of the damn ping pong table...

They replaced the table so everything should be fine as far as room... but yall muthafuggas need to keep good haijeen, You guys really smelt like "Spirit Juice" if you know what I'm saying, and as far as the hype level goes, bring that shit again. I've never felt so hype in my life, cept that one time when I bought Pokemon Gold Version for the GBC when I was 10 with my own money that I saved up.

So I talked with JT and Derrick. They expressed a willingness to join in on the ranbat festivities. So T6 is now, officially, in addition to our MB/GGAC ranbats. Their community is 20+ people, but considering how many unused setups there were last time at Devry, it's not a big deal.

If you don't like it, then don't come.

Edit: Also, mark your calenders for August 7th & 8th. We're going to be adding BBCS to the venue. When we do, we're going to upgrade to a hotel.

My other roommate would love to play T6 with the rest of NorCal. Just means i gotta start practicing more May and Order Sol shenengans, and hope that I'm teamed up with A.J again for the 2v2 tourney.... Is the real Axl Low gonna be at the ranbat again? :3

Damn these are gonna turn into whole weekend events once CS gets added? I love the hype slowly building as we get more and more people involved. I hope we can expand the CS crowd once it gets added cause I wanna see some more competition around here!

I had the vision to establish those three scenes in Nor Cal because they're the - most - undermined. I thought Tekken was doing well, but they haven't had anything consistent happening apart from Derrick's office gatherings. Then again, I don't know very much about the scene. I'm only going off of what Mr. Derrick has been telling me.

But, to summarize all of that in a nutshell, this to pave the way for the BBCS console tournament & friends. :3

Oh yeah, and here's the Devry Ranbat setup. It's similar to the last tournament...with something removed. :3

I just had a thought, is there a table there as a replacement for the ping pong table or is it just gone altogether? Cause honestly, having the ping pong table made it easy to get everyone's stuff out of the way and off the floor. so if we don't have something there, maybe someone should bring a simple fold up table or 2 for people's stuff. May be that little bit less roomy, but it would provide more organization for everyone.

On the topic of streaming, I don't know about starting everything at the same time. If we delay some tournaments like T6 or MBAA, they will have less downtime during their tournament. I know MBAA stalls for an hour just so we can stream.

With the addition of T6 and desire for less time constraints confirming us for DeVry, you should take off the southtownarcade.com tagline since people will be confused. Instead put a bit.ly or goo.gl or some sort of short URL that will redirect to this thread.

Think you should delay the starting of games an hour or so after first one. So say like you wanted Guilty Gear started up at 2:00 then the next tourny begins at 3 and so on. If we don't have long to be there then start the signups for the 2v2 tournies at the same time and go from there. Also make sure that the people attending and bringing stuff get there as early as possible (Sorry as much as I wanted it to start late I'm tired of getting there at 12/1 and having the tourny start at 3/4).

T6 means that we will make use of unused setups. We had 3 TVs that were idle during our last tournament @ devry. Even then, we can solve that problem by bringing more setups. Everything is tentative; meaning, no two tournaments are going to start at the exact same time. I'm more concerned with the large amount of BO and people unwilling to bring TVs or what not. Seriously, these ranbats won't work without people stepping up and bringing equipment. Major thanks to you all.

There won't be as many casual setups, but please note that I'm doing that so I can present our community to hotel venues. If we can present a local scene, then it'll give me more leeway to say, "hey, we have. 100+ people and they're willing to rent some hotel space." I need a catalyst big enough to give a legit reason to the hotel sales associates...Cause this stuff is going to come out of my own pocket.

Long story short, it's time for a change.
