Yesterday was my first time really playing CS online on the PSN and I got my butt kicked. I was at level 1 and my opponent was at 29.

He used Litchi and I was Hakumen. He used some combo that I could not escape from, since he got me continuously in the air and ground, sort of like juggling. I could literally not escape it or even block once the combo started, and the only thing that would break it was a barrier burst.

Does anyone know how to escape combos like that? By the time he was done with the first combo I only had like 15% life left, it was quite unfun in that it was inescapable..

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Litchi has long combos. If the combo meter does not turn blue (stays red) then you can't escape it. Only advice that can be given without a video or specifics is to block more, learn which attacks of hers hit high or low, and learn how to punish her in the few instances you can.

In the future you could ask this sort of question in the appropriate match-up subforum (in this instance Hakumen > Matchups > Hakumen vs Litchi (CS))

Ok thanks. I will post it in the appropriate forum next time.

Also if I do record the match with BC's option too, can I upload it to youtube somehow to show people? Does the PS3 support that or anything?

Depends. It is difficult to know how much you know about the game, and thus your definition of "combo" may not match up with the definition of combo here. I'll start at the top and work my way down.

1. "Blue combos" are techable. Under the combo meter, you can see a sign whenever you could have teched as well as the hit number, so you can remember it next time.

2. "Red combos" are unescapable. Remember how the opponent started the combo, and make sure not to get in that situation again.

3. Litchi has "tech traps", where she punishes you for rolling and teching incorrectly. In general, you'll want to a neutral tech into block, and then keep blocking till Litchi screws up the pressure. Litchi has a powerful wakeup game.

So, the first thing you need to do, is recognize when combos end and begin. In my experience, newbies don't actually know this!

1. If the combo numbers turn blue, you could have escaped the combo.

2. If the combo numbers reset back to 1, you could have escaped the combo, but now your opponent reset his proration so you'll take a SHITTON more damage. These are called "resets".

In this game, the more hits in a combo, the less damage is done to you. IE: the 30th hit will typically do less damage than the first hit. Thus, good players setup situations in which its difficult to prevent the reset. Litchi is very strong on the opponent's wakeup for example, because she can put the stick on you as you're waking up, and then start another combo if you didn't block. Generally, there is only one way to escape Litchi's wakeup pressure, especially in the corner: neutral tech into block.

Press the 'lag' button and force the opponent to blue beat a combo.

In all seriousness though, the best way to equal it up is defend better and learn when she's open. You also have counters, but don't be so hasty, especially in lag.

And getting combo'd for that much isn't as bad if you can hit with a full combo as well. Luckily, Hakumen can deal around 4k per full combo. If your opponent can dish out massive damage, then learn to give it right back.

lol "escape combos".

This ain't smash.

Take it, burst or learn to block.

ASW should implement special corner proration in BBCS2, that would fix Litchi's bullshit once and for all.

Someone's taking terrible ideas from Blade. Besides, the problem with Litchi isn't her damage, it's the fact that she carries you to the corner, and once you're there, you're forced to block. Making her do less damage in the corner wouldn't make it any less difficult to block 6 mixups in a row that leads to another combo in which you're put in the same situation at the end, now would it?
