having some trouble with the venom fight, getting a time-up w/out killing him or being killed

is there a trick to it?

and is time-up absolutely necessary?

(i searched this already, so if a post exists, im sorry for not finding it)

should note: im not particularly good at millia, or fighting games in general

Yes, the time-up is absolutely necessary. There is no other way to get the ending except that way unfortunately.

I usually just tried to get a good lead and then played keep away and blocked the rest of the time, but even then it's still hard. It's better than some of the other ending requirements though *looks at Johnny's ending requirements*

May 1 and Dizzy 2 come to mind..

May 1- no continues vs gold/regen i-no.. had to cheese that one to death

Dizzy 2- beat may in less than 24 sec (75+ remaining clock), took many many restarts

or there's the venom end where you have to IK millia, then beat eddie w/only specials and overdrive

I was able to get it on normal difficulty (not sure if difficulty affects story mode though) relatively easy the other day when I tried. After I got a health lead, I just kept dashing back and forth and won that way. Hope that helps as well and good luck to you!
