Introduction: A new year is upon us and it's time, once again, for another A.R.K. (Arkansas Regional Knockouts) tournament! Players from everywhere are invited to come hang-out and throw-down with gamers from all across the region. We really want to build a scene down here and what better way than to gather everyone together and see how we all stand? Please join us, have a good time, and hopefully win some big money! Our last event was quite successful as we had over 70 gamers from 5 states compete. However, we are hoping to get an even larger turnout this time! So, if you guys want to play Melty, GG, AH3, or any other game, post here that you want to come to A.R.K. 3 and that you want to play that game! PS3 sticks will be available. 360 -> PS3 Converters may be available. - As part of our collaboration with the DFW Fight Club, they will be providing several setups using the Evo-tournament standard Asus monitors. - Dance Central and Def Jam Rap Star should be available to play and may be added as side tournaments. - A 2v2 Brawl Team Tourney will be ran if I can verify sufficient interest. - Project: M (A Brawl/Melee hybrid mod for SSBB) has been added as a free tournament for people to try out. - All brackets will be viewable on internet capable devices via Tonamento (links will be provided) as well as viewable via big screen TV at the day of the event. - The official ARK III stream will be hosted by Arkansas' own Rawkus with a separate recording station for the non-Capcom games run by GBS Giovanni. As before, stream station matches will be available for all to see via projector. - ARK III is also proud to welcome SRK's Snoooootch as well as Andrew MacEntee of NewKindDesigns who will each provide additional media coverage. - As participants of ARK II know, Conway Gaming Center has several arcade machines which will be set on Free Play for our tournament. The list of arcade games currently available includes: Final Lap 3, Tekken 3, Raiden 2, Robot Unicorn Attack, Street Fighter 2, Neo Geo: Metal Slug 2, Aero Fighters 2, Bust-A-Move, Final Fury, and Hook. This list is NOT final and may expand before the day of the tournament. As before, please give the owner of the machines feedback for his cabinets. He has done a great job restoring/building them himself. - A list of advertisers/sponsors/partners of ARK III and the ARFGN will be added in the near future. - ARK III is proud to welcome the first sponsored players to confirm attendance: TWG Arthur (as mentioned in the credits of the Marvel strategy guide) and TWG TostitoSalsa (as mentioned in the credits of the Marvel strategy guide). TWG (as mentioned in the credits of the Marvel strategy guide) is an up-and-coming team from Dallas, Texas, which provides much of its financial fortitude via the backing of the Dallas Unemployment Office. Below is a brief summary of some of the big changes that have gone on recently. - Final details are added including a Full Schedule. - Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 has been switched to 360 due to logistics and complaints from the community. We apologize for the confusion. That being said, we should have approximately 7-8 setups available for tournament play. For those with PS3 pads, we will have lagless converters available. - Marvel 3v3 Team Tournament has been added. - Smash 64 and the demo of Mortal Kombat 9 will make an appearance. We will have an exhibition tournament of Mortal Kombat 9, which will be free. - Melee and Brawl doubles have been added as team tournaments.

Bonus Pot money will go into the tournament with the largest turnout! The distribution of all other prizes is TBD. Check out the sponsor info at the bottom of this post and make sure to support these guys! - Well-known modder DaRabidDuckie is attending this event and is making his services available to the community! DaRabidDuckie's Modding Services: Modder DaRabidDuckie is Open for Business at A.R.K. III! He will only be doing dual mods (PS3 <-> 360) on site, but if you contact him directly, he can arrange to do an RJ45 mod as well. If, for some reason, he does not have time to mod your stick at our tournament, he can take it and send it back to you at an additional cost.
