[CS2] Taokaka vs. μ-12

So I don't play Tao, BUT I fight Mystic d once a week. I figure knowing her options against Mu would be useful to know, for both Mu players and Tao players.

I have some lol. Not much to say other than Mu's J.C beats everything Tao has in the air. When your putting on Stein wall, we can rush in anytime assuming if laser doesn't hit. As Mu only has 1 Overhead from what I can see other than Jump Cancels, it's not as bad to reacting to that. I think Tao can crawl under Mu 2A if needed to. Jump around till Tao can see an opening, rush in, bait DP and waste 50 meter to keep it safe. Baiting DP is always a good idea. Not completely sure but I think Tao can crawl under Mu 6C. Getting hit by J.C in the air from Mu is bad. Trading hits with Mu is bad too. Mu is great air to air, air to ground, and decent on the ground. Assuming if Mu tries to put on Steins other than putting steins in from combos, it's almost free combo with Tao....Mu 2C is an amazing AA unless Tao predicts and punishes accordingly.

Imo Baiting AAs versus Mu is a good idea. Mu 2C is a really good AA, but since you have a triple jump you can get out of reach of it easily and punish it. I discovered this one the hard way lol. Also be careful at match start, don't always try to rush in with a 5D/j.D etc cause I've opened up with 2C predicting it, and gotten a CH combo off it. She can also air throw your j.D fairly easily so watch out for that. And also, don't ever let her get away with setting up steins in neutral cause like Dom said it's pretty much a free combo. You don't want her to have shit out cause lasers will severely limit Tao's movement, and you really don't wanna get stuck blocking as Tao. Also look out for Habaya (236A, Mu's electricity ball thing) cause she'll toss that out in lieu of steins to buy time to set things up and keep Tao away. I also use it to hide air-throw attempts, so you might wanna watch out for that as well. Baiting DPs is also really good, she's in CH state forever after her DP lol.

I actually like this matchup even if I usually get bodied, playing dodge the flying cat is kinda fun.

I don't think Tao can crawl under Mu's 2a anymore, it's now listed as foot property in the frame data. Just fyi.

This match-up pretty much sums up in: RTSD before she starts showering you with her bukkake of lasers, and NEVER ever eat a CH, they often lead to big damage+corner carry+oki.

Her regular pressure is not too hard to block but at the same time you don't want to block far too long because she's going to rape your guard primers in no time. Try to save on your bursts for when you really have no other options to save your butt.

Mu's counterhits hurt bad for every character in the game and hurt super bad for Tao who has no options to escape corner pressure in the earlier part of the match. Mu's probably the only zoner who can make Tao sweat.

It's not a hard match-up but it's easy to understimate her and being severely punished for it, you have to rush her down since she sucks up close but you still need to respect her when it comes to play neutral and ground footsies. Don't treat her like Lambda.

Also as it has already been noted, watch out for her 2C. That goddamn move even hits behind her, don't even try to do a j.2B crossup you're likely going to trade and it's NOT going to be in Tao's favor.
