Ok, so I have fought a bazillion mus both local and off, and they all have differing gameplans. For example, some Mus like to spam lasers which can be fun to avoid, but aggravating to win against. Other mus have rushed me down in 2 combos and won. I really have no idea how this match up is supposed to be played by either player, so let's look at what the Mu players have to say:

Don't really get to play this matchup too often either. Still seems in Mu's favor but you have to play lamer than ever and not make any mistakes as Carl's overall damage got buffed with Volante combos. He still has some unblockables although they don't loop into eachother anymore (afaik?). 2C is actually still really good here to hit Ada while doubling as an anti-air that's hard for Carl to punish (2C is still jump-cancellable if it hits Ada).

Habaya will straight up swallow Volante at neutral, if you're on the ground you can just use it on reaction. Other than that, watch out for Ada's moves with armor; Fuoco for the ground (IB this for free meter, watch your primers), and Brio for anti-air. The Carl will likely use a combination of these and moving Ada forward manually to get you closer to the corner and limit your movement, where you'll have to watch out for airthrows, jA, jB, 8D, and Brio. It's still pretty easy to outmaneuver him by jump cancelling steins and hitting Ada with jump-cancellable moves though.

If you get caught, pay close attention to Ada during his blockstrings in order to block their well, non-unblockable mixups at any rate. Watch out for IAD j2C > Allecancel crossups (or non-crossups depending on spacing), and his slide cross ups with Ada pressure, especially during Rhapsody of Memories. Getting sandwiched is scary but the longer you can block the more gauge you'll force Carl to expend, forcing them to use suboptimal combos to recharge the gauge if you get hit, or their retreat if they get overzealous and you're able to block their whole mixup.

On his wakeup, prepare a meaty 2B to catch roll and wakeup slide out of your setups. Also be ready to bait Counter Assaults, one of Carl's few reliable reversal options. If they ever Green Burst or CA and you can get them into the corner, one guard crush setup should give you the win.

Even though one guy posted, it's clear that he knows the laser spam is a good option to use against Caruru, which I can agree on as well. The laser game eats up all volantes, and it is like your trying to get into a castle (Mu) that is being protected by a bunch of guards (Lasers) I tried vivace, and i get mixed results... her 2B can stop it with ease, as they know that Carl players are going to spam that semi invulnerable property. however, I also gained easy access into the castle... I mean Mu o_0...

Anyway, Mu players just say that spamming lasers keeps the guy out, and that makes sense, but what happens when you get in?

What to do in CON

Her DP (the diamond shield) can be baited easily, and even better is the amount of punishing you are able to do when baited successfully. other than that she has 2A, which is not as good as 2b and can be beaten with alle-can. If you see a Mu mashing 2A, tell them to look at the wiki :MU:

How would you rate this Match up?

Definitely in her favor with laser spam. I mean, you can sometimes have trouble seeing the screen with all the lasers flying everywhere. Plus a Mu player can rapid fire that all day, and you may never get in, regardless of all the vivaces you do

This is one of our more irritating matchups, its very similar to the Arakune matchup. Adas job is not to attack, using Ada to try & poke her is pointless. She can hit Ada with a 10foot pole & be 100% safe DONT WAIST THE MEETER. Ur job is to block her bukaky of lazer spam while slowly advancing Ada making sure ur always 1dash distance away. By all mean remember to punish anything stupid like 5D charged & if ur done with blocking periodically use volante it will speed up the lockdown process. Once she is cornered she will try to escape DO NOT GO AIR TO AIR WITH HER,,, just AA her going AtoA with her is dangerous & gives her the chance to Dp ur dash in. Play it safe & cool, keep a leveled head & remember. She is kusanagi the god sayer & ur a little boy DONT UNDERESTIMATE HER DMG

Any tip in this matchup? im starting to get very annoyed with the fact that she can mash button all the time.

The only thing that i know, Volante is excellent for DP bait. If you use Volante and block her DP, Volante will beat her DP. Also, i know that in this match is essential to throw Volante and stealth Volante.

When i try to cach her, i use rocket jump... but hers normal are good.

Sometimes i just don´t understand this game, after baiting two DP from her i baited his Gold burst on the ground.... and the bitch was maching 2A and beat my attack! HOW THE FUCK IS THAT POSSIBLE IF I BLOCKED HER FUCKING GOLD BURST!

Also, if anyone know good Carl vs MU jap matchup vid. I can´t find any of these.

Hey, is not that i think that the game is stupid. Just, i don´t like if i manage to bait a Goldburst i can´t punish it.... I always believed that, when you manage to bait the opp, you should get rewarded for that.

U need reaction to punish it now,,, if u do not IB ur not punishing anything. An a Gold burst is +3 so if u IB it u have options.... kinda. Im on my way to school ill help u later 2day

You aren't baiting it correctly. It is like baiting a DP when they have 50 meter. You have to make it whiff.

In this match its best to use Ada as a walking shield,,, do not put more or less than 1 dash distance apart. This will stop normals from hitting u & Ada can eat her bukaky of lasers for free. JG ur problem is a fundamental one & like Nar said it shouldn't be in the matchup thread. TBH it makes sense if a GB is baited the person shouldn't be punched,,, they used a burst & still didnt hit u. That in itself is punishment & like i said if u IB the only thing that can hit u is a Dp.
