Tiers and online

So, ive gotten my hands on BBCP recently, and ive played for a good 10 hours online+at least 8 hours in training modes i think, and i have made an observation.

The amount of people playing Azrael, Kokonoe and Jin is staggering!

 

Is this something common, people playing the easiest and highest tier characters online, just because it makes for easier wins?

Is there something im missing, because from other fighting games ive played, ive never seen "tier whoring" this bad before.

Could it have something with me playing only Terumi, and therefore getting bad-matchups?

 

Please fill me in on this. Im realy curious as to why there are so many of them running around.

If you have not seen this before in fighters you should play more fighters online TBH.

I think its partially coincidence, since these characters have large fan bases. Now, if you see someone's card reading Koko/Haz/Valk/Tao all down the line, they may be tier whoring, but since Az and Jin are A tier and still have problem matchups, I feel its coincidence. A lot of people have been begging for Kokonoe for a long time, so you'll see a lot of people who love usin her regardless of where she was placed in tiers.

>poultrygeist, Ive seen tier whoring before, no doubt. Ive seen the Ryu/Ken army, the Alisa from Tekken, the Natsu from Soul Caliber.. It´s just rare to see this many of the same character one after another.

I'm just answering your question why everyone plays him xD everyone's opinion on Az seems to change with who their main is

It's mostly fanbase.

 

People will always play jin whether he is good or not.

Kokonoe was one of the most wanted characters.

Azrael has BHS.  

 

You only feel that Az is stronger than he is because you probably don't know how to deal with them.

what lime said. az can be a difficult student or a piece of coconut cream cake, depends on who it is. doesn't help that teru vs az is az favor, but you may hear a rach player say how close he never gets because lobelia + wind + pumpkin.

Tbh this is the main reason I decided to pick up Azrael
