SonicDragon1790 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Hello, long time fighting gamer, first-time poster here. Just wanted to post an idea here and get some feedback on it. I have been playing fighting games for a decent amount of time now, and I've been playing the series since the start(and Guilty Gear before that), and while I wouldn't say I'm "good" at them, I don't think I'm particular bad or scrub level bad at them. With that said, I've been thinking about doing a sort of tutorial video series for people wanting to get into them, particularly ChronoPhantasama since it is the newest. For this video series, I was thinking about setting them towards entry level FGers, since I see while there are a bunch of these kinds of videos by long-time players or tournament players, they still seem to go and talk/mention stuff that a lot of first-time players or people getting into the series don't really understand( ie. mix-ups, frame data, etc.). So with that being said, here was the lay-out I was thinking: 1)Intro to Blazblue and ASW style fighters -talking about the games, how they play, and how to play them (ie. buttons, special moves, etc.) 2)Terminology -talking about certain fighting game or blazblue terms you might encounter while playing 3)Blazblue Lore(leading up to BB:CP) -talking about what has happened story-wise in the games with CT and CS 4)Characters -talking about character lore/story, strategies, and ease of use 5)Game Modes -talking about what you can do in the game and what certain modes get you 6)Online -talking about the online structure, ranked, player, and lobbies So, now with all that, I just want some feedback. Is this a good idea to try out? Is there anything I'm missing that I should add? Thoughts and Opinions? I love these games, and was just trying to think of a way to give back to the community. Thank you for your time!
Poultrygeist Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Isn't that the kind of thing that the tutorials in game are for? Not saying it's a terrible idea, just that it may not be necessary.
Terferi Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I would love that. I'm new and it's always good to have more than one resource. Especially slow motion videos. Make jin first please Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Liminal18 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 The tutorials do a pretty in depth job of this, but that is for people who already own the game. For researchers who might want to know the why And how of BlazBlue before they buy this might be invaluable and seeing as how most people skip tutorials anyways it might work. I say go for it. Especially if you can elicit for how BB distinguishes itself from SF and other fighters.
Dreiko Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Just make sure you're being factual rather than opinion-based and that the facts are actually as you present them. Nothing hurts more than someone new relying on a tutorial with wrong info in it. Good luck!
