RifleAvenger Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Certain computers I use seem to be unable to paste anything into a post, and the quote option does not work. It's most notable trying to use a computer at work, where it never works, but sometimes even on my personal laptop I cannot do it either. Any suggestions?
shtkn Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 i've never heard of that problem before... can you provide any other details?
RifleAvenger Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Pressing quote will not automatically insert a quote with the original poster's name and text. I have to manually type out the "" notation and type in the comment I'm responding to. When I press quote, it takes me down to the reply area, but no quoted text appears. As for paste, I quite simply cannot paste any text into posts, either via right click + paste, ctrl + v, or the paste button on the reply toolbar. This is most prevalent on my work computer and computers at the local library. However, sometimes I have this problem on my personal computers. Restarting the PC removes the problem temporarily, but it always comes back. I've done searches to see if it's some kind of malware, but my anti-virus comes up clean.
shtkn Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 try clicking the lightswitch button at the top left of the textfield when you experience taht problem. i bet the forum software is trying to be "smart" with copy paste and bringing in colors/fonts and it's messing up the paste somehow. toggling the lightswitch button lets you see all the tags that are used in your posts
