Apparently the Japanese netplay patch works.

$9.99 if you don't already own it.

Folks in Asia might not be able to buy it due to region locking, comes up as item unavailable here.

Ign says funbox media, but edit they are wrong actually kiss ltd with funbox media brought it to steam same folks behind Isuka.

The Steam re-release was also handled by Kiss Ltd. but both companies are based in the UK.

I can't seem to get the Japanese netplay patch to work. I'm not sure if it's this topic that's misinformed or me though.

 

Edit - Ahh, the old way doesn't work but a different one does.

I would buy it, but I've already got it on GOG before it got removed, and it's exactly the same so why bother. Either way I'm glad it got a steam release, maybe that'll help me get a few friends into the series.

To make things even better IGN released a video of the game's intro on their youtube stream claiming its the first time the game has come to PC when this is almost the same port that was released on PC in 2005. In other news this was on good old games? I own Isuka on GOG, but never saw this one... Btw if someone can link to the steam forum post explaining the new patch method that would be cool and if anyone wants to gift me a copy (can't buy it on steam in Asia): liminal18 on steam.

In other news does anyone else find that two different publishers trying to get Arc System Works on steam a little interesting? It does make me rethink buying a ps4 for Xrd.

Anyone have this and know if its different from the pc version? I have it for pc but dont like how in training mode you cant set Johnnys coins to infinite, and theres no quick reset state that I know of. Can anyone confirm??

Its apparently the same or at least similar enough that network can be enabled using the same patch.

It's exactly the same as the original PC release and the GOG release. No difference at all except this has steam trading cards and such.

What I've heard is that there's a version of the netplay patch that works for all english versions of the game. If it works between the different releases, well it's probably very likely since each release is just the same game republished, but I may be wrong. I'm probably not going to buy the steam version since I've bought this game twice before, so I wouldn't know exactly.

You probably already tried it, but the net play patch link is in the OP. You can probably just comment on it with your error for assistance.
