A.X.I.S. Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 first off awesome shit man..seriously thats some crispy moves. your play against nu was solid..probably more solid than me. against jin: control your space 5A beats all of jins run in's except for his dp's. 5C is good if jin likes jump in. and after a B sledge keep a eye out when he IB's it..if he didn't IB poke with 1 5A to see if he is gonna C dp. punish for C dp and ragna's ID should be: 6A>2C>623C>236B>236A, or end it with 6C>j.D with 50 meter use: 6A>2C>623C>236B>236A>RC>236B>2C>623C also in the corner use 623C>6C>j.2C>5B. 5B forces a air tech. use tick 360's troy you missed out on some easy damage on jin and you could have used it to scare the nu. another thing you didn't do was try to magnetize your opponent to keep them in...you seemed to play too defensive even on the offense. ok someone piece this together I suck.
Commanderoftroy Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Yeah I agree on the tic throws I have been doing 2b tic throwing a lot now and occasionally using 5b in the corner to force a reset airthrow chance. I have a hard time jabbing and tic throwing on a controller. I have never used 6a for punish dps I will try that. As always thanks for the input I will be putting up a few more in a day or so some old and new. Hoping playing some ssf4 on a stick will help me play this on one.

Since people with a habit of bursting a little early, at least in my experience, like to burst a Reallly obvious combo starter like that. But if Saayyyy they bursted already, or they are the type who never bursts early. and you get to punish a 623C on Jin. You can do the very fun 6A 2D RC 6A 2C combo starter.

I have seen people do that combo i personally have never really tried it but i may just give that a try now that you mention it.
rei-Scarred Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 punish for C dp and ragna's ID should be: 6A>2C>623C>236B>236A, or end it with 6C>j.D 6C 236B 5C 6A 623C 236B etc does more
ZhePrime Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 6C 236B 5C 6A 623C 236B etc does more Can't be done in the corner, though. Variant that does around 80 less dmg than SolBadass's combo but magnetizes and has longer reach than 6A, but can't be done in the corner: CH [5D, SledgeB, 5C, 6A, heat, SledgeB, followup] Need to be somewhat close (i.e. use this when in the corner and use rei-Scarred's when you're not), 4800dmg something: CH [6C, j.2C, 2B, 2C, heat, SledgeB, followup]
A.X.I.S. Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 if you want mag just use 2D. pssh. infact if you got 50 meter and jin does a C dp that you baited then just do a 2D RC combo for free 6K. edit: wtf am I thinking...if you got 50 meter then you 720 the bitch.
iOryan Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 so I finally got a component cable for my ps3 and have the ability to record at 720p, I tested with this HORRID clip of me playing casuals with 10stars over psn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZZ7VpUU8ek I was horrid back then, sheesh. Also, it looks horrid on the 360p youtube option and it only looks decent on the 720p option I need to work on compression.

What's the point? I mean sledge follow up is nice if you got them in the corner, but most of the combos on jin should be ending in j.D
A.X.I.S. Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Jin gets hit by walk 6C j.D, why is everyone suggesting slegde>follow up and 2D? What's the point? I mean sledge follow up is nice if you got them in the corner, but most of the combos on jin should be ending in j.D positioning thats why...you always wanna have someone in a desired spot right? 2D for corner 5D to get people away (why I have no clue) and 6C>j.D or tech traps and whatnot. obviously sledge has its setups and the follow-ups are for damage.

It's a matter of preference. Sledge>followup also opens up RC continuation, with spark you could follow it up with [...6C, spark, 2C, heat] for some meaty damage. There is not really a right or wrong way, you do what works best for you.
iOryan Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Really only uploaded this as a test, but its whatever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rN2COZkGPw&fmt=22 soooo many missed oppurtunities on my part - missed the command on AC twice :\ Oh well, the video looks nice though
Commanderoftroy Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Some advice i would give you is to not become to predictable with back dashes and B sledges after 5D. That goes for every matchup obviously but you can bait things with short sledge after 5D and its easy to delay moves to catch someone if they backdash often enough. Yeah couple missed ACs for resets because he was teching in the air after your jabs but it happens to the best of us. I would also suggest some tic throwing because it never hurts after jabs, you hit him with 5b as a starter a few times and thats an easy mix up tic throw opportunity. 2B works wonders on block or hit to a 360a or 360b and in most cases depending on the distancing you dont even need magnetism. After 360a if you have spark bolt you can 3c rc into spark bolt and then 5c AC, dont throw 6a in there or they will tech out before your AC. Its a nice trick to make people panic and bait a burst or just the extra damage if they are near dead. Other than that solid bud keep the videos coming i wish i had a capturing device mine never look to good.
A.X.I.S. Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 after a 360A just do 3C...timing is too strict for the 3C RC spark follow up... but after that knock down do what ever you want...hell I RC'd a 3C follow up just to get closer.

Timing is strict but its possible to do on nearly every character after 360a besides carl and tao i believe and dont bother with rachel becasue you can just hit her with a spark bolt when she is on the ground.
FlyingVe Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 The trick to doing it is to input the rapid cancel while you're doing the half-circle for the spark bolt. Personally I only use it when it puts the opponent in, or close to, the corner. Also, I've taken to 2B after 360B, leads to cool tech traps and combos into spark bolt.

I use 3c rc to sparkbolt mostly to bait a burst because if the person is below half health 90 percent of them will burst in a panic because of a spark bolt combo despite it already be prorated because of the hits in the 360.
A.X.I.S. Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I don't bother...timing is pretty damn strict and I don't get much damage out of it...now if you can set up some weird tech setups I'd be more willing to do it.
Commanderoftroy Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Like i said its easy to make people burst because they panic, you can do 6a into a 720 after 5c because they tech and miss presuming they arent jamming buttons i have had that work once or twice. I also did the jd off their late tech to 360 in that video after 3c spark bolt which works well.
Heavy_Mental Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 50 meter plus a Spark Volt seems like a pretty steep price to pay for a gamble, despite it being potentially game-winning. Then again, this is Tager we are talking about and people do tend to lose their cool if they get hit by Spark Volt. Whatever works I suppose.

Its risky i only use it when they are low on health but i have had pretty good success with it, but i suppose to each his own.
A.X.I.S. Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 everyone has their preferences it seems...osuna likes 6C>j.d. I like whatever puts my opponents in the corner or nets out the most damage. and troy has his psychic coliders and 3C RC spark sillyness. I'll see if I can get a vid up sometime.
