Fun mechanic but very risky to use. Things to consider not on wiki.

 

Your opponent will get a free counter if you miss.

Takes 25% tension but, If it connects, you get almost  50% of the used tension back.

Brief invincibility when it connects. 

Can be used continuously (tension based) in the invincibility period.

It can be done as soon as you wake up in what seems to be one of the most challenging timings in the game. On wake up, I found crouching Blitz shield easier for some reason. 

Useless to input just before landing, won't work.
You can reject Instant Kills.
Can be used to interrupt your own air dash (reminds me of slash back air dash cancel) for a chance to reject reads or guesses.
Rejecting an airborne opponent will only make the opponent vulnerable while in air.

Since most moves are medium (can be blocked standing and crouching), crouch rejecting is the better option in most ground cases if you want to risk it.

Has an Hakumen player I love blitz shield. 12F makes it seem massive.

 

Ye there's something off with the reversal window in this game, I never had a problem in HD remix and that was supposed to be 1frame. (I'm only trying it in the challenge mode ATM, so the blue ky flash is putting me off, rather than helping).

 

Low blitz apparently has 2F less catch time and 8 frames more recovery. Which makes it worse for mids. Unless the frame data is wrong or I'm missing something else.

Regarding low blitz, the idea presented is that most players will use moves which are pretty fast for an accurate reaction based blitz.

 

So, if you are throwing a blitz and are not sure if the opponent will hit you low or mid, low blitz will take care of these two options. 

an example presented is Sol with his far 5S and 2D.

 

If you are sure that the opponent will hit you mid or high, then of course standing blitz is better.

Since blitz shield grants some invul after, can it not be used to stop Eddie unblockables? I heard before that it wouldn't work since you would just get hit by the other attack right after but that doesn't make sense if it has invul. You just have to guess whether the low or the overhead will hit first.

Actually most zato players can't land a perfect unblockable.

Its either the high or low comes first in a way that it's impossible for a human to switch his guard..

They usually tend to hit high because j.HD have a bigger block stun so the won't be able to switch to low on time.

Yeah i know, but what difference does it make? I implied that with the fact that i mentioned you would have to guess which comes first; high or low. I don't see how that makes using BS to get out of the situation impossible. If the invul is longer than a few frames you should avoid the next hit.

Many Japanese players managed to get it right.

There is nothing like the perfect solution to everything.

A smart Zato could just hover over you and wait until your BS is done.

Isn't the idea to activate the bliz shield when the zato is already doing the unblockable? Or heck, if you got a zato that is delaying a hit to bait out a bliz shield, effectively giving you frames to work with that you normally wouldn't have, isn't that kinda a win on it's own?

I only wanted a yes or no answer to whether you could get out of the initial unblockable because i heard you couldn't, and i haven't seen it either. Do people think i'm implying that the eddie unblockable is bad because you can get out of it or something? I see no reason to go on a tangent about how eddie can do this and do that if you BS the unblockable.

 

Either way i tested it myself anyway so now i know that you can as long as you guess right and get the reversal timing. Still sucks though since you still have to block the last hit of the drill. Seems better for zato to always let the low hit first to save himself from the possibility of Zato getting BS'd instead of the drill.
