"Meet Your Mod" Episode 1: A.X.I.S.

Guest

A big welcome to Dustloop's newest moderators! Here, we are committed to the competitive scene with organized information and active discussion to further everyone's game play. We feel these newest additions will elevate character boards and reflect active members who consistently contribute. Some may be familiar, while some of these users aren't "celebrities" (yet). We are going through a QnA process to help our Dustloop community get more acquainted with our newest moderators.

A.X.I.S.

- Why did you choose that particular handle, is there a story or reference you'd like to explain?

I chose this handle mostly on a whim, I used to call myself grey shadow but more often than not it was taken, when I first came to dustloop 2 years ago I decided to name myself Solbadass as a tribute to how awesome he was but then something changed, when Blazblue Calamity Trigger came out I decided for another name change, this one is the one I am known as now AxisTheBeast.

the reasoning for the change this time was because it sounded cool in my head and plus I wasn't gonna go in public and get called Solbadass for everything, something short and sweet besides it sounds way better than grey shadow and Solbadass.

- What is your background with fighting games...Did you start with BB or are your OG like SFII?

BB wasn't my first fighting game but it was the first I chose to play competitively, when I was a kid I was big street fighter and SNK fan, I played SF champion addition and the street fighter alpha's, for SNK I played KoF 1998 on Dreamcast, I also played plenty of Tekken and Soul Calibur with a Side a smash until finally I went up to GG Accent Core...A really good game.

for the most part I was a casual player until BB.

- What competitive scene are you involved with? (Ranbats, Arcades, XBL, PSN, Reload Online etc.) Would you elaborate the benefits of this particular scene?

I used to be a scrubby netplayer, until some people in our State decided start showing up to ranbats. (me included.)

I'm AxisTheBeast on XBL and I built a very silly rep for myself, good thing about online is gaining match up experience, at least the basic's of it, you can never achieve your max potential through online as I quickly realized when I played my friends offline, with online you never need to worry about entry fee's and gas money and the noisy guy who's in the crowd talking mad shit but...that's what makes offline fun, that and getting to know the people who share the same interest.

- How strong do you feel your nation is as a whole, what is the next step to strengthening it?

Only way we can strengthen ourselves is by getting more people into the scene and playing the game, netplay can only get us so far and tends to leave bad habbits, put ourselves in an environment when we can actually talk about the game without using a mic, yeah I am calling netplayers out.

- Which player(s) give you the most trouble and why?

Really aggressive players and patient players.

- What has been the most helpful tool while growing stronger in BB?

Match vids...most new players really haven't noticed it but those players over sea's on that tiny island do and know wonderful things, sometimes its inhuman and sometimes it just looks cool.

I also watch combo video's some of that stuff has a practical use to it.

- Is there anything you'd like to share regarding your respective character or Dustloop in general?

Tager-hang in there guys.

I know its tough and sometimes stressful when your backed into a corner but remember its never over until tager is dead.
