BBCF Es Demonstration from Dengeki

shtkn
  • Dengeki had an event over the weekend where they showed off the console exclusive character Es! From a quick viewing of the video, some of her attacks leave a trail in the air that become attacks after a delay. She also has a way to stock a charge that powers up her specials!

Jourdal was kind enough to record the stream and put it on youtube, so those of us without Nico Premium can see it.

I hate it when high level players don't give new characters a chance to attack or be demonstrated, like jeez, cool it, will you?

It also sucks when they skip Intro and win animation of new characters.

Do we know how Es' Drive works?

Drive attacks leave a crest after the attack animation, press D to activate these crests for frametraps or combos.

    • I definitely had to build a lot of muscle memory but also hand strength in my left hand. I don't play WASD keyboard movement games so when I was first starting on leverless I literally did not have the hand strength to consistently move my fingers quickly for motions, and my hand got tired easily. That took some getting used to.   I've been on leverless for ~3 years now, and although there's still quite a lot of stuff I'm better at on stick (which I played on for 14 years, so it would be surprising if I could close the gap quickly!) I generally prefer it overall and can do most of my stuff equally well or better. The only thing I really struggle with is very fast and clean half circle motions.   I play on an ergonomic ver~l leverless controller now. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and is much easier on my aging hands than anything else I've used. I still play some games on stick but I very strongly prefer my vertical leverless for most stuff.
    • I had actually made a thread about D&B on the Shmups.System11 Forums a while back, but nobody responded.   I actually do not own this game as of yet but it looks interesting and has some connections to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so I thought it might be fun discussing it as a topic.   I technically disagree with Ishiwatari’s view that Azure Grimoire and the Tome of Origin are the same book, but from a creative non-lore standpoint I guess you could say they are similar.   Someone also pointed out “William” who seems to share a similar hobby to Axl Low.   An interview with Ishiwatari seems to suggest that his writing is based on a “possible past” and a “possible future” and that D&B is set in the former (with GG’s plot I assume as the latter).   Anyway just think of this as a catch all thread for Damon & Baby!

    • The current Dark Mode seems a bit too intense on the dark tones.
