Dustloop Scene Project! GET EXPOSED- Episode 2: Montreal, Canada

Guest

GET EXPOSED is Dustloop community project designed to introduce the internet to Blazblue communities from all over the world. If you and your community are interested in participating, please check out the thread here.

This week we bring you an interview from Montreal, Canada.

Nini Heart interviews four of Montreal's crew to give you a better idea of what their scene is like!

Interviewer- Nini Heart

Interviewee- Brice, Kirbster, Vice-Taicho, pochp, BladeOfJustice7

Nini Heart: Okay! We're currently in the heart of MTL and we're gonna go meet up with the Blazblue boys, so get hype. Gonna see where the Montreal scene hangs and what they do. Oh shit I'm going into a dungeon. Going into a dungeon, dungeon, 18+! Sorry guys, no kids here this is serious business. So this is the place where Montreal players are fiending. Blazblue on the right. Blazblue on the right. Marvel! Games everywhere. We got Street Fighter, Street Fighter, MK... We got everything over here. This is Montreal- Canada's top for fighting games, the best city for fighting games in Canada. Get hype.

Part 1: Brice

Nini Heart: Uh oh, this is Montreal's ex-champ! Montreal's ex-champ who doesn't speak English!

Brice: Fuck you.

Nini Heart: So we're gonna perform this in French. (In French) "Hi who are you?"

Brice: "My name is Brice"

Nini Heart: "You're called Brice?"

Brice: "Yeah."

Nini Heart: "Where do you come from?"

Brice: "Why are you turning the camera? I'm from Montreal!"

Nini Heart: "No, you're French. What you say?"

Brice: ...

Nini Heart: So how do you feel about your scene?

Brice: Uh, it's the best scene ever.

Nini Heart: Why?

Brice: Uh, because we're awesome.

Airmaster: No.

Nini Heart: Airmaster, get out of here.

Brice: And like we can all speak two languages (french and english).

Nini Heart: Yeah. Okay, that's kind of cool.

Brice: So like everybody understands everybody.

Nini Heart: How strong do you feel your scene is as a whole?

Brice: I think our scene is really good because we meet often.

Nini Heart: Yup.

Brice: But uhhh we're not on Lord Knight's level and stuff like that.

Nini Heart: But like Lord Knight is like the only good player on the East Coast. Lord Knight and Zidane. Without them the East Coast is free.

Brice: Yeah, okay then. Maybe they're the best except for us.

Nini Heart: So you think we're the best on the East Coast? If we take Lord Knight and Zidane out.

Brice: Huh?

Nini Heart: If we take Lord Knight and Zidane out of the equation, we're the best?

Brice: Yeah, for sure.

Part 2: Kirbster

Nini Heart: So, Kirbster, how do you feel about our scene?

Kirbster: It's getting to be pretty good, actually.

Nini Heart: Getting to be pretty good?

Kirbster: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, we're going out to more majors and stuff.

Nini Heart: Yup.

Kirbster: Having regular meetups, 2-3 times per week.

Nini Heart: Do you feel the scene as a whole is strong? Or we just have a few good players?

Kirbster: I would say the level of skill, yeah it goes from one extreme to the other.

Nini Heart: Yeah.

Kirbster: But uh... more practice will help us.

Nini Heart: More practice will help us.

Kirbster: But, it's that there are a bunch of us who are at a certain level that not everyone else have reached.

Nini Heart: How do you think we could improve the strength of our scene?

Kirbster: Our scene? Play more, man!

Part 3: pochp

Nini Heart: Okay... I'm with...

Rhannmah: HELLO!

Nini Heart: Haha, okay. I'm with Pedro.

pochp: Yeah.

Nini Heart: He's he host of Montreal's scene which he's been organizing.

pochp: I'm not...

Nini Heart: Yes, you are. He's been organizing all the tournaments and the current ranbats are all thanks to him. So, Pedro how do you feel about your scene?

pochp: Uh, it's pretty awesome. Like, l'm usually jealous of other scenes, but it's like we're building our own. So it's awesome.

Nini Heart: Yeah, you've been doing a lot of work and you've been here since the beginning. Do you feel that your scene has improved?

pochp: Uh, yeah a lot. We used to be like really bad. But like now, we've been traveling a bit... you know, improving a lot, playing each other like every week so it's good. It's good.

Nini Heart: I heard you've been traveling a lot, I heard you went to ECT,

pochp: Yeah.

Nini Heart: T12, you, and Brice.

pochp: No, T11.

Nini Heart: T11.

pochp: T11.

Nini Heart: And the last tournament in Toronto...

pochp: Uh... yeah, yeah. There was a little tournament a few weeks ago.

Nini Heart: And I heard you're going to Summer Jam too.

pochp: Yeah, with you.

Nini Heart: Haha.

pochp: I'm driving though.

Nini Heart: You're pretty dedicated.

pochp: Yeah, we try to travel... try to like make interest, get better... You know, it's good motivation- to travel. It makes you want to get better. Then people at home get better because they have to keep up, so...

Part 4: BladeofJustice07

Nini Heart: Okay! I'm with BladeofJustice-o-7.

BladeofJustice07: What's up?

Nini Heart: The second face of Blazblue Montreal, he's been hosting tournaments since day one with Pedro. Blade, how do you feel about your scene?

BladeofJustice07: It's really good that the community is doing a lot of traveling... going to other tournaments, which is really good for the scene. [it gets] greater exposure for Montreal, and we get better exposure for Guilty Gear and Blazblue. Blazblue's been developing so... that was a second goal of mine. A lot of people are getting into Guilty Gear, and from that maybe we could see the resurrection of guilty gear again.

Nini Heart: Well, hopefully...

Part 5: Conclusion

Nini Heart: Okay we're at the end of the meetup day. Everyone's pretty hype, everyone's pretty happy. It was a fun tournament.

Brice: No.

Nini Heart: The best man won.

Brice: No! What the fuck?

Nini Heart: Tager was in grand finals! This is Montreal only! Tager in grand finals!

Brice: You only won because you play Makoto.

Nini Heart: This is kirbster- he got 4th place or 3rd place. Good shit. This is Blade- he got 4th place or 3rd place. Good shit too. Everyone looks really happy... especially Brice.

Brice: Except the real winner..

Nini Heart: Good job on getting second place!

Brice: Yo... yo...

Nini Heart: And this ends the day of the Montreal scene!

[END]
