Streaming GGXX #Reload & Isuka Available on PC

  • PC Cloud based gaming service out of Japan GameNow have recently announced that effective 7/9/14; Guilty Gear XX #Reload and Guilty Gear Isuka will be available for purchase and play.

GameNow runs off of a monthly subscription, and for at the very least these 2 games are set at 450 yen (~$5.00 USD). Check the jump for more info regarding these two nostalgic titles, as well as the cloud based service model!

This marks the first time that an Arcsys game is available to play via a streaming media service. To be expected, delay and framerate issues aside, this release may play as a precursor to what we may be seeing in the near future from Sony's own much touted, much praised, soon to be upon us Playstation Now game streaming service; which is scheduled to be available this coming fall across the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and select Sony brand televisions.

Here are some details about the GameNow service regarding these two fan-favorite titles:

Guilty Gear XX #Reload

  • Includes all of the features present in the initial Playstation 2 version of the game including Robo-Ky.
  • Also includes a story mode arc that was not in the Playstaion 2 version.
  • Includes a special short movie as an appreciation to fans.

    Guilty Gear Isuka

    • Contains all features from the Arcade and Playstation 2 versions of the game including:
    • 4 player simultaneous battle
    • 2 player simultaneous training mode
    • Robo-Ky MKII edit
    • Color edit for all characters.

As of now there is no information whether these titles will be appearing outside of Japan in any shape or form, or whether PC's running in territories outside of Japan can access the streaming service. Stay tuned for more details regarding this as they come in.

To be honest I'd rather buy the console version and "keep it" instead of renting it off stream.  That's just me.

    • I played a bit of the alpha and it was really enjoyable! It had a really nice movement feel to it that a lot of newer games just don't have anymore.   They've also seemed to change a lot of minor things that made things feel weird, like hit/block sounds. Azula was also an incredibly cool reveal
    • i'm excited that it has regional pricing, going to give it a try for that alone. haven't been in any of the betas though so don't really know what to expect
    • I'm pretty interested, most of the stuff I've I've seen looks interesting, I'm just worried it'll flame out on launch like dnf duel did so I've kind of been keeping my distance.
    • As of a few days ago, every character (except Sailor Uranus...) has a starter guide written! Pluto was the last to be added as she's undergoing some advancements thanks to a dedicated main of her named Virus. Thanks to O-RANGE, Inva, Legs, BowserBrowser, kan kan mikan and Virus for writing for their characters! While there's still a lot we have to cover in characters advanced strategy, this is an amazing point to get to. There's never been a better time to get into the game!
    • Makes sense, playing for popularity. Out of curiosity, what "metatextual level"s do you think the "simple" games come across as?
