[Updated] Contribute to EVO 2012 Stream Fund

Guest

Unfortunately, the 4G device we rented malfunctioned. I decided to just bite the bullet and drop $400 on a new Verizon hotspot. Unfortunately, it cost me $400, but with the current contributions, the hit on me personally isn't so bad. The most important thing is that we can get the stream going, which we'll be able to do. However, this will mean that I'll have to redact the refund I previously, now that our cost has also risen... For being such a faggot, I apologize.

I want to give another shoutout to everyone else who has donated. If you would like to be featured on my stream channel in the profile area, just send me an email/PM/tweet on what your name is, and I'll throw you on there.

In the span of like 5 days, you guys have given me about $270, which is a lot more than what I need. Unfortunately, because I was busy at a work event from Thursday to Monday, so I couldn't check the amount I'd received until it was too late. Anyhow, I want to return the extra money I don't need for the stream, so if you have donated, please read on.

First off, because I have approximately double the amount I needed for the stream, I will consider half of everyone's donations as "Excess". I think this is the only fair way to return/redistribute donation money, instead of trying to determine whose donation I should keep or whose I should return.

From there, I would like to give all donators two choices:

1) I can refund you half the amount you have donated to me, as I do not need it for the stream. Please send me an email or PM with your email address/name, and I will be able to return half of the amount you donated to me.

2) I can use your excess money to pay for a BlazBlue trophy. In actuality, I've already commissioned and paid for this trophy out of my own pocket, but if you are interested, you can support this cost with the excess as well. Here's a quick shot of it: http://pic.twitter.com/9Z6wwWcT

Regardless, huge thanks to everyone who donated. You guys showed BlazBlue and myself a lot of love, so I want to put that energy to work at EVO this year. Cheers!

Frankly, I was planning to pay for it out of my own pocket, but since others have expressed interest in helping out, I thought, what the heck, if you want to contribute to help pay for the streaming costs for BB (and potentially GG, SG, or even P4U) this year, a Donate button exists for you to vent your charitable frustrations. This is a great way to help out if you're not coming blah blah plea for help. Anyhow, regardless of what happens in this donation drive, I fully intend to pay for all costs at the end of the day, so don't feel pressured.

The total costs for the 4G mi-fi hardware + service for the weekend of EVO comes to around $120, give or take a few dollars.

FAQ:

1) Am I going to get anything out of this?

Other than feeling like you did something to contribute, no, you get absolutely nothing. I will read your shoutout message on stream and all that other fancy formal bullshit, but frankly, you will not get anything. Anyone who donates over $10 will be a "Honorary Entrant", if distinctions like that mean anything to you.

2) What if you end up with more than $120?

That's a tough one. I guess I'll keep return it when it comes down to it. My intention is to stop at $120 and make an announcement to turn off the dollar works. Anyone who ends up over the limit will probably just get an email from me saying "Hey, you're a cool dude and all, but do you want your money back?" In the end, we can put the extra money into one of the pots or towards some trophies for BB or GG.

3) P4U?!

To be honest, this is like the most far from guaranteed. I know there is a chance of collaboration dude to my contacts, and Atlus WILL be there, but we can't guarantee that we'll be allowed to take any live footage, even if it's only gameplay. As you may know, game companies in general are very strict about that type of thing, so I wouldn't hold my breath over it. You have been warned.

4) What if X happens and there is no stream after all?

Well, you'd certainly feel cheated wouldn't you? It can't be helped if it comes down to it, regardless of whether or not I have to pay the fully amount of the rental fee, I will return all the money upon request. I'll probably grumble a lot too, but by no means do I mean to waste anyone's good will.

5) When is Y going to be on?

I have no idea. Unless someone gets to me with a schedule I can't exactly do anything about it either. We'll play it by ear the best we can, but for the most part, the only thing guaranteed is BB. If you hate BB, those are some tough nuggets.

Anyhow, TL;DR, WE DON'T REALLY NEED YOUR HELP BUT WE APPRECIATE IT IF YOU DO.
