USA CS2 patch coming out this May

Guest

Looks like the USA won't have to wait much longer for CS2! There's no exact date but, this is pretty reassuring.

It's basically what we expect: balance changes, mission mode changes, improved netcode, etc. are free, but Platinum will cost money (though you can fight her online for free).

Press Release:

[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

A patch for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is coming out this May! The patch will contain balance changes to match the arcade version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II AND enable Platinum for purchase at $7.99 or 560 MSP. Hit the jump for the full press release.

TORRANCE, Calif.–April 15th, 2011–Aksys Games, a publisher of interactive entertainment software, is pleased to announce that the hit 2D fighting game for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, will be updated with all new content and bug fixes, taking the system version to 1.03. The data for system version 1.03 and Platinum the Trinity will be available in the month of May.

In this update, the new character “Platinum the Trinity” will be added for players to purchase at $7.99, or 560 Microsoft Points. This game add-on will include all of Platinum’s 24 colors, the Unlimited version of Platinum, and new Achievements/Trophies to unlock as well. Between the gender confusion and cool magical-item-based gameplay, Platinum will be a joy to play for both fans of cute adorable things and hardcore fighting game enthusiasts alike!

Also in this major update, the game balance will be brought up to speed with the arcade version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II, including all of the character balance changes, additional system mechanics, and game engine adjustments. This is topped off with brand new Challenge Mode content for each character and a revised Tutorial Mode section to help bring you back up to speed. With all of this new additional content, there’s no better time to get back into BlazBlue: Continuum Shift!

    • I played a bit of the alpha and it was really enjoyable! It had a really nice movement feel to it that a lot of newer games just don't have anymore.   They've also seemed to change a lot of minor things that made things feel weird, like hit/block sounds. Azula was also an incredibly cool reveal
    • i'm excited that it has regional pricing, going to give it a try for that alone. haven't been in any of the betas though so don't really know what to expect
    • I'm pretty interested, most of the stuff I've I've seen looks interesting, I'm just worried it'll flame out on launch like dnf duel did so I've kind of been keeping my distance.
    • As of a few days ago, every character (except Sailor Uranus...) has a starter guide written! Pluto was the last to be added as she's undergoing some advancements thanks to a dedicated main of her named Virus. Thanks to O-RANGE, Inva, Legs, BowserBrowser, kan kan mikan and Virus for writing for their characters! While there's still a lot we have to cover in characters advanced strategy, this is an amazing point to get to. There's never been a better time to get into the game!
    • Makes sense, playing for popularity. Out of curiosity, what "metatextual level"s do you think the "simple" games come across as?
