Xrd Google Doc to Find Players/Matchups

    About

Now you're wondering why I've brought you all here. The reason why I decided to create this google doc is basically for the sake of being able to find players for the matchups that you lack or wish to get more experience in. Another reason is to find and identify many of the people who play these characters to varying degrees that many people may not even know of. Since starting Guilty Gear (with Xrd) I had to play a lot of catch up and had a pretty difficult time finding certain matchups. Even OG's lack experience against some of the newer characters who can give trouble, but I noticed specifically harder for a lot to find Bedman, so hopefully an open google doc where people can input their own information will create a much quicker way to find what you're looking for. There was about 1,000 people at EVO this year for Xrd and I'm hoping at least 40 or 50% can find this doc and input info. So just keep sharing.

Also as I'm starting to notice. This is a great way to help identify people that are near your scene that you didn't even know existed. Very great way to start having people come to your casuals so hit em up.

Rules

There are none! Anyone from anywhere is encouraged to add their name no matter how good you think you are.

Videos

I think one of the biggest things when selecting someone to contact from the list will be the thought of "who can I learn from/who is good/who is around my level" and so on. Instead of having something like a "indicate here if you have a Dustloop trophy" or "get some known player here to vouch for me" type of deal. I think the best way to indicate whether you want to fight someone or if someone is good or not is by watching them play. Even if you don't plan on fighting them or not, I think everyone has something cool to show that you can put into your own game and possibly make it even better. If you've ever been to a tournament/been on someone's stream/stream yourself you more than likely have some footage of yourself somewhere (hopefully recent or at least reflects your skill now). If you don't, now might be the time to ask to be on someone's stream or record yourself or travel.

A long term goal for this doc (first time doing something like this) is to constantly see players updating their videos showing all the new tech that they've been learning or just simply how much better they've been getting. If you want players to critique your gameplay, you can tell them to see me (you) in this doc. It should help people that don't have popular streams or Youtube or overall just not a popular player get some help in some way. Pretty motivating if people are asking you to play them as well once you start to get better.

Try not to post yourself just curb stomping someone just obviously weaker than you I think most people can tell what's going on lol.

If you want to post a video from a twitch archive, you can just let me know. Send me the link and where you want people to start watching it, (the timestamp). (Shoutouts to @logichole 's stream by the way for my video) (Also shoutout to @choysauce85 as well. This is a super important part of the doc and I probably wouldn't have thought about it right away had he not mentioned it to me)

Handle/Main/Subs/PSN/Twitter/Dustloop

I'm sure most get this. Just a way to contact you of course.

City/State/Country

If you live outside of the US. Just put the area you live in within your country and then your country.

So i've said enough, here's the doc, and please share to everyone! Let me know any feedback.

Looks like the sheets are separated by character, but many are putting their info on Axl's because it's first. Since there's a field for mains anyway, why not reduce it to just the first sheet? It'll be a long page, but you can sort it by main so it should be fine.

People dont know how to read excel documents. this is a good idea dont get me wrong, but tabs are foreign to people. this is what we use in the guilty gear skyperoom. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HKbEexxUADwgZZwENNbgy8Q1Evml_wSEDrrB1mzgIiU/edit#gid=0

This as you can see has all the main data on the first page. We do have other tabs but they are either pointless or ideas we have thrown around.

I hope this idea sticks because its something i want to see in our community, where someone is playing something and can just grab local info of other people who play the same things.

My 2 cents arent copper, but i hope they add insight on a system weve implemented in the guilty gear skypegroup and assist you in doing the same for dustloop.

What you've made here is really cool. It's such a great way to keep in touch with others and find people to practice MUs with.

    • It has been years.  Anyways, figured it'd be a good place to have some CF2 Bang discussions regarding the character.  Just general discussion, but please keep it relevant to CF2, please.   Also, headlining this thread with Rychtors beautiful Bang guide here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UBO8rO3NFUsBE5SOkQTw90Kf-OEc9nVp7Yjny_MYJM8/edit?tab=t.0
    • Forums back, hooray.   Does anyone know if there’s a way to keep this combo going solo? In the clip I try to go into 4D8 loop but scaling is too high. Seems like it’s too high to 4D8/4D9 > superjump jK as well. I dunno if there’s any fancy extension in this context or if it’s just kd into house. grav_setup.mp4
    • dloop Forum revived, im like semi-active again in fighting games even though most local fg basically are locked behind Facebook the social media of choice of pinoy lmao(only have a burner acct there to access if i need to) some are behind some discord servers Anyways if your into anime fighters i know a place in Cubao, Quezon that pretty active that meetup at least once a month. Games played there are UNI2, Granblue, GG and such. Someone pop in Million Knights last time i attended. so post up your interested in some locals
    • I definitely had to build a lot of muscle memory but also hand strength in my left hand. I don't play WASD keyboard movement games so when I was first starting on leverless I literally did not have the hand strength to consistently move my fingers quickly for motions, and my hand got tired easily. That took some getting used to.   I've been on leverless for ~3 years now, and although there's still quite a lot of stuff I'm better at on stick (which I played on for 14 years, so it would be surprising if I could close the gap quickly!) I generally prefer it overall and can do most of my stuff equally well or better. The only thing I really struggle with is very fast and clean half circle motions.   I play on an ergonomic ver~l leverless controller now. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and is much easier on my aging hands than anything else I've used. I still play some games on stick but I very strongly prefer my vertical leverless for most stuff.
    • I had actually made a thread about D&B on the Shmups.System11 Forums a while back, but nobody responded.   I actually do not own this game as of yet but it looks interesting and has some connections to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so I thought it might be fun discussing it as a topic.   I technically disagree with Ishiwatari’s view that Azure Grimoire and the Tome of Origin are the same book, but from a creative non-lore standpoint I guess you could say they are similar.   Someone also pointed out “William” who seems to share a similar hobby to Axl Low.   An interview with Ishiwatari seems to suggest that his writing is based on a “possible past” and a “possible future” and that D&B is set in the former (with GG’s plot I assume as the latter).   Anyway just think of this as a catch all thread for Damon & Baby!
