If you're looking for a zoning character with interesting combos, I would reccomend trying out Duna a bit. She has really cool zoning tools as well as interesting combo flow IMO (TK blue line loop, and a thousand situational ways to set up and extend air combos / tk loop, she also has some outdated technology with j.214K loops).

Lol of course it's the one I least expected to work, duly noted for the future.

Alright well TBH I'm not entirely sure what's causing it, but there's a few things you can try. Change WonderfulWorld_ver_05.exe compatability mode to XP SP2/3 before running it. Redownload the game, sometimes a download gets corrupted a little bit. Try running it while in Japanese locale (this really shouldn't matter). Sorry but that's really all I can come up with right now, good luck.

I'm having a hard time remembering exactly what were the different causes of that... can you give me some more info like what OS you're on and what locale you're using?

Thanksgiving break~ sorta. come fite and mash your combos vs my combos

http://forum.mizuumi.net/wonderful-world/wiki-progress/ Wiki is starting to look pretty nice. SilentShinobi wanted to do some sort of FM2K stream commentary type thing, but plans are still in the works we'll see how it goes.
-
sorry i didn't get a chance to play you, maybe next time hopefully connection is at least sort of playable? lol we're sort of lenient since lunaport isn't too great to start out with
-
word, you gotta get in #WW on mizuumi when you get the chance, lots of new players for you to play too
-
There's a lot of beginners just picking up the game on IRC right now.

http://forum.mizuumi.net/wonderful-world/ We now have our own forums on Mizuumi, hopefully it makes everything easier to navigate around. If you don't feel like making a new account just to post there I do plan to continue reading this thread and such, but I will stop putting a ton of info into the OP since that's all on mizuforums now.

WIKI PROGRESS As you can see there is a new wiki template! Hopefully you find it fairly easy to work with, I've provided everything needed and you should be able to do all tweaks just by copy/pasting. If you feel like contributing to the wiki you don't nessecarily have to completely redo the whole page if you're just adding a couple things. But for those of you who do help by retemplating the pages please copy over the old info unless you know it's outdated or inferior. Pages I've been working on so far are Ryuza/Corona/Orphe, and then there's stuff like the Neva page which is pretty complete but still in the old format. If you don't feel like capturing hitboxes you don't really have to! But if you're bored having them there is really nice. To capture hitboxes, set hitjudge in game.ini = 1, you will probably find it much easier to change the gamespeed too, set it to like 50 or something from the default of 10. If you could use GIMP or some other basic-ish picture editing software it would make it a lot easier, I would like the standard size of the pictures to be 180x150 and .PNG format. You can make them a bit bigger if needed for supers an such, but try to make those 300x200. See the Orphe page for how I managed that there. Having mismatching picture sizes really didn't work out so well so that's why i'm asking for this. New WW Char Wiki Template: http://poverty.mizuumi.net/index.php/WW_template O = Templated X = Not Templated F = Mostly filled out S = Sorta filled out E = Mostly empty (wow amazing) Ryuza - O, S (descriptions, frame data, pictures) Duna - X, E (most information outdated, frame data, pictures) Lemius - X, S (new combo flow not added, frame data, pictures) Aiwhen - X, S (combos LOOK up to date (duno lol), frame data, pictures) Corona - O, S (Strategy / OTG / Oki, normal descriptions, pictures) Sasari - X, E (Not even close to up to date, needs everything) Lunathia - O, F (cancel properties on normals, clarification on j.p hitting overhead?) Orphe - O, F Cielo - X, S (someone would have to verify if tech was up to date, frame data, pictures) Alicephia O, S (more to strategy and combo sections, pictures) Sabe - X, S (doesnt have j.K at end of aerial combos, frame data, pictures) Neva - X, S (combo / strategy update, frame data, pictures) Lynia - O, S (Normal descriptions, pictures, strategy stuff) Pretty much all pages are missing SOME matchups. *updated OP*

http://mizuumi.net/2010/11/04/wonderful-world-basics-and-system-overview/ Spent a long time on this thing, hopefully someone finds it useful, share it with your friends!

Learned actual terms for stuff. Going to clean up the terminology on the wiki a little bit then work on an introduction article for mizublog. Then the next one is more than likely going to be a character overview since the chars make up most the game (despite the great system!).

#ww on irc.mizuumi.net Linked here for those not so IRC savvy http://poverty.mizuumi.net/index.php/Wonderful_World as well as here http://mizuumi.net For those who find web applets to be inconvenient there's also stuff like X-Chat (my favorite), and mIRC. If we get enough people in the channel and it becomes fairly active it would be a lot easier to get games / discussion going!

You're actually not the first person to say that the game was actually really fun first time playing lol, ppl just can't appreciate dat mspaint art.

If you use the right timing and/or combination of moves you can actually make it so that you're just outside of throw range, also 6P is throw invuln. Backdashes aren't so free! though still incredibly risky in the corner.
-
@cheese Awesome thanks, yeah the advanced input thing explains how I can consistently do 1F links with Neva lol. Also +4 is fucking serious business, it already has negative pushback and is basically a free cancel, good news! Especially good news because this means the advanced input buffer can be used to consistently get the full frame advantage. And according to the frame data, all the hits of 214S are 2F active and 2F apart, so this means it should be anywhere from +4 to +1 even with bad timing (i.e. you don't cancel it until after the first hit so you fail to get a first frame cancel). Much more forgiving than I had expected.
-
@nuclearcheese When you have some time, I'd like you to use your frame testing method to see what Orphe's 214S~K is on block (I assume it's the same no matter how many times 214S hits before canceling) All I know for sure is that it seems to be around neutral, probably a little minus. And it's + it's not possible for it to be + more than 7 frames. That's not very specific lol. thanks edit: I also recently found out that there's 6 different types of airtechs! Maybe it seemed obvious but I had never realized, but it's a training mode option lol. Neutral, forwards, backwards, upwards, downwards, and quick tech. Most are pretty self explanatory, though I'm curious as to what the technical differences between downward and quick tech is... quick tech seems a little safer in post-OTG situations. I'm also not sure how those 2 are input. If someone could harvest that info off JP wiki that would rock :P editedit: http://poverty.mizuumi.net/index.php/Orphe#GP_Frames I'm also really curious as to what this "recovery" column is... numbers aren't adding up against the rest of the frame data.
