  3. well we last did our BB tournament and i let people know lapengo was going to bring ggac but he slept in... so yeaah... lol
  4. yeah for sure man haha we are doing blaz at my place i can link you the livestream if your interested

  5. yo are you guys coming out this weekend for blaz?

  6. We do have BB players here in Edmonton between 10-15 players in total, gg is non existant the reason I want to get more players (specially online) is to get more familiar matchups. Edmonton has some well rounded players but really it isn't that diverse interms of players using most of the cast and what not. We don't have a rachel, mu, jin, Arakune Noel players, I just suggest the idea of some online tournaments for us here because it helps to build on the scene in its own way. I do play offline but allot of these guys here don't want to travel to someones house to play.
  7. Yeah I am from Edmonton Alberta I know bc and calgary both have strong GG scenes edmontons GG scene is non existent lol. I am hosting gatherings for that game as well. I am pretty ASS at it to be honest
  8. Well to be honest one of the many things i've been able to do is get flyers for online/offline events inside of EBgames and game stops (yes i am able to do that), Jumping on the bus handing out flyers. Going to every mom and pops place around schools and posting flyers up for the events. i do run BB along side of SSF4 events. One thing that I have been doing is grow the GG scene and host Mbaa, GG and BB at the same time. if the scene isn't large enough then i will try to just add those games into ssf4 and mvc3 events, so that the games are getting out there. One other thing I will start doing is hosting weekly gatherings at my place and continuing to post up videos of the players playing and show them to other players either here or the BB website and get peoples opinions on what they our players need to work on. Example is I show my match videos to XDest and he pretty much breaks down EVERYTHING i do wrong haha. Can't say I'm happy with what is being said all the time, but you don't get anywhere if you can't take criticism from people. I'd like to think I have gotten better from this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u38LHTAbXo to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P67jWmy7bYQ On another note, i fully understand the challenge and difficulties behind event organizing and community building. I've been int he Fighting game community since 2002. My experience for GG/BB is very very limited so I know it'd take a while before I understand how this community works and how to grow it from where it is now, to where it should be in future events etc etc I thank you for your advice. Also i was thinking that we could use this forum to perhaps get more word out there about Canadian BB and possibly show people that there is a strong comprehensive scene for this game in Canada.. Idk up to you guys haha
  9. yeah as well as 3 people in my ranking battles xcanadianbandit Vaporized757 MDK Sama Nini i hope your online later on, because Tao is coming back!
  10. Good matches last night btw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSagSgkZSwk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P67jWmy7bYQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkWFQzoN5zY
  11. do you know cakes xbl?
  12. Most Deff want to do that. I made sure that Blaz was at Canada Cup. Honestly I knew the turnout wasn't going to be as great as SSF4, but flying down JS master, Daigo, Mago, justin Wong, Mike ross Gootec. Spooky AND a $2 500 starting pot. Yeah we kinda had no chance in hell of getting to that same level of hype. I am going to try to get BB at the next major I host. I host it at every tournament I have and it is progressively getting bigger. But there has always been the question for players from the eastside coming to west "why go there when the tournaments are so small". That is kind the way it's been for me all the way from mvc2 to now. Idk what GG is like on a highly competitive scale. I know that I like BB and I want it to be just as big on the west side of Canada as it is on the East. Thing is, it takes time. So I'm doing the best I can to get it there. If that means doing some online tournaments and getting a more stronger scene between both Edmonton, Calgary and even Van then so be it. It's better than playing in the back ground and doing nothing. Try to respect my hustle lol
  13. I'm not going to lie, I watched that and there was a lot of purple throws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y-NTdOc_c4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlA53oIo8vc those one might be better But the point I'm getting at here, is that while in some cities the scene is really strong out east, it's almost non existent on the west side of Canada. if there was a tournament I would go to it, just like I did with Canada Cup. Try not to be harsh on us, honestly online 2 bar is not the best representation of one's skill but it is still good and exciting matches just the same. I enjoy hosting these online tournaments and the skill pool is growing. As well as the numbers in players who play in these online events. The reason I started hosting them in the first place was to have players outside of edmonton join in these events and help us with match ups we might not be familiar with (Tsubaki, Arakune, Mu, etc etc) I realize this is not nearly as good as just playing offline but it does help to some degree and it keeps things lively
  14. Yeah the online tournaments are usually no worse than 2 bars. The matches have been intense http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7NxU03B-Mw thats toronto vs Van and it was only 2 bars, I know online is as but seriously its better than nothing and it has been building hype.
  15. hey yeah I was trying to gauge the over all scene for blaz in Canada. are scene is small here in Edmonton, maybe 14-16 players. Calgary i believe about the same but idk how many of them are active. Van seems to be the same as Edmonton/Calgary. I don't think there are scenes in Winnipeg or Sask Regina. But that's only because I haven't heard anything about any events or gatherings. For Match vids,. Canada Cup had some decent talent in it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PgyKz3yL3s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LA9EVZ4w7c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdAGG3Xs29k I also host the tournament for Edmonton both on and offline, the online ones tend to be a bit bigger. when i can i stream the events. but yeah i made this thread so i could gauge the interest that Canada has in blaz and maybe host something big in Edmonton for BB or online idk
  16. Not sure if this is the right spot to post this buuuut i was wondering if there are any Canucks on here playing blaz. post up if you are!!!
  17. Blueshift is temporarily shut down until mid February. Under Edmonton law, they are not allowed to be open because of the drastic renovations they are making to their Venue. Construction is being done from the inside. A health inspector came into their store earlier this week and informed them of this and they were to shut down immediately. I will post up the next Fighting game tournament as soon as a venue is secured. Thank you for understanding for those who wanted to attend both tekken and Blazblue I will be hosting those games at my place Address is available for people upon request $5.00 at the door and $10 .00 for each game.
