Well my lecturer does recommend me to use harder pencil for guidelines ... but i'do prefer using softer one (since it's rarely scratch the paper and "easy to erase"), and for better/cleaner out line, i'do suggest using the ballpoint pen than the Drawing pen for manual finishing ... and have never using SAI before, so i can't give any advice ... but from my experience on Illustrator/Photosop, Digital Finishing is a little bit easier than manual,... still a tedious work thought lol
