It may have been a group decision, but keep in mind that Arc System Works has all rights to the localization now, and Aksys have been demoted to just the games' publisher. They no longer have a say in how things are done. Aksys are pretty much nothing more than mouthpieces now. I'm sure they're just as bummed as the fans are, but they can't openly say it because then Arc System Works might just cut off support for the US market like what Konami has started doing.

BREAKING NEWS: SNK has confirmed there is a glitch with the netcode for modes that aren't Party Mode. According to them, the Party Mode netcode is the intended netcode for the game, and they want to get the patch available early next week. The Party Mode netcode functions very similarly to ArcSys' meme magic netcode for Xrd. Practically flawless and strives to constantly maintain a minimum 4f input delay.

After hearing the entire soundtrack, I can say without a doubt that this really is classic SNK style music. Mad props to SHA-V for returning to his home series with a bang.

I'll gladly buy dub DLC regardless of whether it's priced or not, just like I would buy DLC for any game that I'm willing to support.

Both of those arguments are wrong. They're doing it because the fanbase who buys their games regardless of re-releases is the competitive scene, which makes up the majority of this site. Never forget what this site is about first and foremost. For years now people have been complaining about how they can't get ASW games at the same time as the Japanese and are forced to import because they have to dub it and it takes 6 months to do so. Now, their prayers have been answered. The hardcore crowd doesn't give as much of a shit about aesthetics. They just want to play the game ASAP and be on even footing with the other competitors. Plus, this will make things potentially easier to get the game at EVO 2017 and allow for bigger pot bonuses. Am I happy that I'm not getting a dub? No. But that's not going to stop me from buying this game. I've waited too fucking long for Nine and Izanami to become playable so I'm still pleased with the decision to get the game out early. Fortunately, like Guilty Gear the Japanese cast is really good and comprised of legends. Unlike Guilty Gear, however, the dub was actually on par with the original sub. It's sad to see them not appear for this release, but there's always the possibility of dub DLC or an Extend version where they can reprise their roles.

Both sides are correct. Unfortunately, that's not a good thing because it means the netcode isn't consistent. It's great when it works, and only slightly below average when it doesn't. It's nowhere near as terrible as KOF XII netcode, AKA the worst netcode to ever grace a fighting game, but it's still bad because of its inconsistency. Fortunately, unlike past titles, SNK intends to support this game for years to come, so there is hope that the netcode will be tweaked to perfection.

I'm pretty sure the only DLC they're interested in releasing are colors and system voices. And even with that income it still may not be enough to be able to afford a dub. If we're extremely lucky, they'll dub the inevitable Extend version.

It's not incompetence since Aksys no longer has localization rights. Only publishing. This is entirely Strangely Compelling AKA Arcsys' US branch. Such a goddamn shame that the last hurrah for the English cast had to be a shitty anime adaptation that they managed to make tolerable.

Yeah, the only good songs so far to me have been Saxophone Under the Moon, Survivors Under the Sky, and Venator Ballare. We need classic music DLC.

Currently hoping that placeholder date for the EU version doesn't turn out to be real or also end up being for the US version, because that also points to the game not getting a dub.

I usually don't really care about fighting game stories as much as I used to, but goddamn SNK's still got a knack for great storytelling and world-building.

I'd be more sold on Love Heart if they improved the sound effects on her sword. That thing needs less whish and more whoosh.

That was only in the stuff they added for the PSP port of CS2. That was in the middle of their transition from Aksys/Bang Zoom to Strangely Compelling/Cup of Tea. As such, a few of the VAs weren't available and had to be temporarily filled in. The Arcade Mode stuff was handled by Aksys/Bang Zoom, while the Story Mode content was handled by Strangely Compelling/Cup of Tea.

People would be pissed if they had to pay extra for a dub of all things.

Watch them finally come out and say something to this effect. "There's no English dub for Central Fiction or Revelator because it fucks up the online play, adding significant frame delay." If you guys remember, this actually did happen in Sign when it got released initially. If this really is the case, they still have no reason to do this because they patched Sign so that you couldn't hear the opponent's voice options. Only yours. And it still managed to function well. Another potential reason there may not be a dub, and this one is extremely farfetched, is that the localization team is filled with sub purists who purposefully don't want the game to be dubbed. This also allows them to cut corners on actual localization and just directly translate stuff from the original Japanese text with minimal effort. Revelator's localization is evidence enough. That script is filled with all sorts of punctuation errors and unnatural dialogue.

Usually they have the dubbed battle voices recorded first for the JP release, then they actually start dubbing and implementing the story-related dialogue with the English version.
