  1. The Barrier system is, in all honesty, pretty damn stupid. It dumbs down blockstrings to staggers, or else it becomes a "get out of pressure free" card. Don't think just barrier and jump out when the chance arrives. It's too easy to abuse, and it became way too good in CSE. It really becomes a lot less braindead if it came at the cost of your Heat.
  2. Shoutouts to me blocking and winning because of it. Shoutouts to rubedo for the ride and getting mindgamed by an akigasmed Seon. Shoutouts to Solid Snack, best character in Brawl. Shoutouts to me landing combos more consistently despite having not played since last Friday casuals I've been to.

  5. At certain heights, you can do 5b > slight delay j.b from 1 to 2 times, depending on the proration of your combo. Using fatal counter's bonus hitstun, you can do the same thing for 2b > slight delay j.b, though how many times you can use it depends on the proration, in which you should refer to the OP for specifics.
  6. I have to ask how the hell does Boomerang Hook hit after a B Assault Dive midscreen? Corkscrew usually whiffs if the timing isn't perfect and it has it's own momentum. Other than that it all looks gravy, I usually stick to 5b FC > 236c => 4c => b+d > loops. The damage isn't that much lower and is way more stable midscreen (unless Naoto is involved). Just have to modify reps of j.b and 5b to get the right ender (lvlx Upper). What's the meter gain for the loopless FC combo?

Since we're in discussion on FC combos, there is one that a fellow MI player provided, it does the most damage out of all posted that only uses 50 meter, but it's corner only. 5b FC > 236b => 6c => b+d, 5aa > 2b > sj.b (1) > j.214b => 4d => 6d => b+d, 2a+b > 236a => 4c => 6a => 236236b Nets like 6.1k

    [P4A] Akihiko vs Yu

    My write up on the Narukami Match up Misc. Notes Keep most of your strings safe, Yu can punish you good for leaving holes. Don't be too offensive, his DP is good. DP Raging Lion (sword dive) on reaction, it is not real mix up. C Weave is not very good vs him, his 214c/d can blow you up and can stuff an EX Hook or Corkscrew. D Weave is good when you're trying to back off. EX Weave is great for DP baits. Prioritize hitting Yu instead of Izanagi, Izanagi has a lot of recovery, but Yu does not.
  16. Super Jump Air Dash j.c if that's not enough. You can sj.c+d Teddie on the way down as a punish. Better than nothing.
  17. Kanji's 5c > 2c is unsafe. You can 2a the 2c easy. At max range (or any range that's outside of 5b's reach), Kanji has no safe options after it.
  18. Sounds like C and/or D bugs have SMP.
  19. You can confirm CH 5c and 2c anywhere. I don't think many people know that it's dash cancellable. Forward and back.
  20. Slightly in Kanji's favor. His 5c has a lot of real estate and is good for frame traps. His oki is frightening. His damage is on par with yours (actually a bit higher off of good hits). You have to use your speed to your advantage so much in this match up. I'm making a flurry of notes, so like in other threads, I'll make a detailed write up later.

  22. Never Weave vs Liz, in pressure she can DP you almost for free, and it doesn't low profile enough to be useful. 2a Thanatos like he owes you money, if you block 5c well enough, you can 2a before 2c comes out. Watch out for jump back j.b. Watch out for 2b. Stay out of the Corner.
  23. Footsies is a player aspect. So it's not really so much that Akihiko can't get it done.
  24. After a few more rounds vs Mitsuru, I have came to a bit of conclusions and some answers to her stuff. 5a staggers can be Dodge Striked, look out for these. You actually can punish 5a whiff (c weave) on reaction with a corkscrew (not b). Stay out of the corner, by all means.
  25. What Level? Because Level 2 and 3 shouldn't require a OMC on FC.
