They're gimmicks, but can be useful when your opponent doesn't expect them, I've used the CR oki a couple of times, its actually more useful offline when you can hear your opponent mashing his controller to tech, but its always gonna be useful against scrubs, I haven't really tried the 2D resets thing, but I use it as a crossup all the time.
