H-F Blade Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The cloud is one of the most annoying things to deal with. If it's somewhere on the ground between me and him, it feels like my area of movement is SO limited that I have to spend so much time dodging it while trying to hit him. It eventually gets to the point where I'm trying to dodge whatever else he's putting on the screen and then I get hit with a negative penalty. :\
Killey Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Oh, I should also mention if Arakune is going on the aggressive with that cloud surrounding him you should be able to punish with a C Fubuki if he attempts to do the air dash cancels with j.B. If you have 50% heat you can aim to try to do Ice Wave Super when he's doing something in the air to put a stop to those cloud shenanigans. Yeah, most of the time if I try to avoid the cloud I'll get a negative penalty. I often look to aim to do a trade with Arakune where I get hit by the cloud around the same time I hit Arakune so as to cancel the curse. Spacing with j.B often helps with this.
Coren Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Remember, if you hit arakune curse goes away; so don't be afraid to get curse clouded if it gets you a fubuki to his face.
trini1212 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 i dono man every time i try to trade i still end up being curse like it hits a spilt second after i hit him, some guy i was playing would jump straight above me with the curse around him and come down green blocking, i hit him den got curse:vbang:
Killey Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Yes, if you hit Arakune a second before the curse connects you will still end up in a curse state.
trini1212 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 so i've been doing alot better against arakune players, thanks to a lot of dp's once i get himon the floor i pressure with a lot of frame trap and try a lot of psychic dps because most arakune players tend to jump away from u after ur block string ends. so i nail em with and a dp, ice wave super is so gansta when arakune try to set up anything cloud or bell.
BANGER Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 A way I use to break out of curse is to just try to j.A while he's floating around. Sometimes if his cloud is low, it's not safe to DP since it'll flow your direction and you won't recover in time and get a counter hit (good Aras hide behind and manipulate their curse clouds), or get hit by one of his worms (or whatever thing that comes out from the ground), all resulting in counter-hit curse. If you jab him while his curse cloud is floating around, he'll have to recast the cloud again, and if done when cursed, it's broken. Also, being too DP reliant just makes them barrier block all the time in the air as long as you're on the ground. If you jump, they try to take you on, and in my experience, most Aras don't bother with his j.A, so you can counter hit them with your j.A, and hit confirm into a combo if you're higher. When pressuring a downed Arakune, be careful of grab -> beam super attempts. Keep an eye on his tension. Once it's >=50, he'll try grab -> super or his aerial super. And ya, Ice Wave super has been useful to me as of late against the zoning characters. They're usually too busy (and comfortable) setting up shit. Just wait for one and Ice Wave. After hit, it's a great opportunity to close the gap.
smooshman Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 my record with arakune is like 8-2 but maybe I don't fight arakune's that are good... but ara dies in like 1 hit
