Wutai_Shinobi Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Just read a well thought out article through twitlonger, (http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1snrjff) and realized I really should be working on good options when doing block strings. A lot of my regular opponents often jump back out for free on me. Anyone know what works well to variate Ky's pressure game, or make it more airtight?
StrawberryGL Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Here's a writeup Eh san did in his +R Ky thread that's relevant (edited sections involving Ain Prison and FRC to be more Xrd applicicable). https://www.evernote.com/shard/s426/sh/bb9eaaea-541d-411e-9609-4b063a0c1185/562bbc60745131784f46e3a6dbfb2f5a If your opponent is jumping out of your pressure a lot, maybe end your strings with a move like Split Ciel (only -1f on block) to place yourself in a good position to 2HS their jump out. Or use a jump cancelable move like 2D or c.S and chase them for an airthrow when they jump.
Wutai_Shinobi Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 Thanks for that. It has me thinking about how to train and pressure differently. ^_^
Aoi Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Against not Potemkin I use a lot 6h dash c.s 6k 2k 2h jc and go for grab if they jump or j.s and jump cancel that into empty low
StrawberryGL Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I've been filling in the blockstring section of Ky's wiki page by the way, if anyone else is interested.
Zyed Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Start block strings with 2Ps, 2K or 6HS, and 6ks come in between people almost never react to start up of 6k during a string because its always hidden
