A Saint Versus A King: A Spoiler Free Review of the 310 (VE) v. Jonio (JO) FT7

310 (VE) v. Jonio (JO) 4/16/2016

“An old match up with a new twist.”

    Takadanobaba Mikado Arcade. More or less full name of the arcade that just wrecked my sleep schedule. At least I have beer and 310 set ups to watch. If you don’t know already, 310 is an amazing Venom player from Japan. The man has hundreds of set ups against every character in damn near any situation. After he’s beaten peoples asses, I’ve seen him preform some of the most elaborate, awesome looking, totally unusable combos like only Venom can. His opponent was cloaked in mystery tonight too until Jonio himself stepped up as the surprise boss for evening. The man himself defending his turf with his own hands against the Assassin of a Thousand Set Ups. What a morning to still be awake for! 

    Overall this first to seven was pretty solid. I’m not going to call this the most jaw dropping set I’ve seen, but man do I love watching both of these players. 310 plays such a mean game of constantly shifting approaches and really earning his hits while dodging Johnny’s blade because that swordsman definitely benefits more from one touch than Venom does. If you can even find a gap in the pressure to get started that is. Mad Struggle, QV, teleports, a million different pool balls to block, at a high enough level it’s almost at the level where Zato would be a little jealous of that onslaught. Jonio though has this inherently cool style, Karinchu is like a surgeon of death but out fearless host is someone who far too many people underestimate. While his execution may not be airtight, his ability to hit confirm  through that special blend of JP hell is always impressive. The pace of the match never leaves Majin far behind though as he very cleanly breaks down a lot of aspects about both characters kits and game plans in this match up. 

    However MajinObama hit on some real shit tonight that for the most part I’ll let you hear in his own words, but one thing he touched on is bringing back the acceptance of people who play other fighters aside from our own. I’m not going to say, if you have a problem with a certain game for whatever reason then you’re wrong. You’re not, that's just how opinions work and Majin isn’t suggesting anything otherwise either. Being a dick to people who don’t deserve it helps no one though.
