CrimsonDisaster Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 But the clash seems to cause delay between hits of a multi-hit move, and lets people immediately cancel into other moves. Critical for clash art vids.

Manta Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 And finally, is a clash consdiered a whiff for tension gain reasons?

Koozebanian Fazoob Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Yeah, Clash causes a long clash pause effect on both players. Not sure if this is a game-wide pause or if projectiles can continue to move during it (I would bet they do). Clashs seem to give you a huge tension bonus. If you just clash together a string of moves, both players will soon have full tension.

Kayin Nasaki Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Yeah, I just tested it. They do still move.

Wind Owl Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I'm a little confused about SJIing.. So you don't install the actual super jump, you normal install another move and then cancel it into a super jump? Does is matter what direction the normal install is in? If I understood that correctly, that's pretty freaky

Koozebanian Fazoob Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 If you are refering to the 1-hit SJI, then yeah... basically you hit with a JCable move, jump cancel, and then cancel the jump into a super jump. It is really weird and I don't really know why it works.

Two different things.

Koozebanian Fazoob Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 What would installing a superjump state do? AFAIK you can't do it, because you wouldn't be able to double jump or anything (if you super jump, then you have no double jump). AFAIK, all you can do is superjump after some install, thus you get a super jump with a double jump. I think if you did a SJ as your install, it would just act as a normal JI. I'll test when I get home I guess.

Kayin Nasaki Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Don't some crazy Sol setups use SJ installs to effect momentum or something?

Wind Owl Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I was just asking about whatever technique allows a double jump after a super jump. Was my interpretation correct, then?

Koozebanian Fazoob Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 All you have to do is Jump Install at some point, and then Super Jump at some point after that during the string.

Wind Owl Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 OK, so I can do a super jump with a double jump if I'm just standing next to the guy (ji.c.5S > f.5S > SJC > 8) (I'm using Anji, BTW) but if I try out of Issei Ougi, I run up, ji.c.5S, but then when I hit Slash again I do a j.S every time. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: BTW, if you do a SJ as your JI, it registers it as if all you did was a normal JI. I think that's what you predicted anyway ;o

Koozebanian Fazoob Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Yes you can do that first combo just fine, I do it all the time off an air throw. S JI S > sjc.S P S > jc.S P S D You can do it off that other setup, you are just mistiming it.
