Though it was annoying playing CT at first when I kept trying to do CS-only combos due to muscle memory. Wish the prizes were better, but it WAS free anyway haha. =P
OrionXElite Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Someone recorded a majority of the matches. they got the matches from the first 2 rounds and then they recorded the semifinals and the finals I believe. I know they got the finals. Actually, if my memory is right, PhaethonH was the one who recorded everything. Must be him, he was the only Carl player there. @PhaethonH, if you feel like changing it, I'm James. The Tager who got 7th. So if you want to switch out the names, go for it. I don't mind either way.
Spirit Juice Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Yeah, Eric was there with his long hair and glasses. A lot of matches were recorded by PhaethonH and should be out within 1-2 weeks. Oddly enough, a lot of earlier matches were a lot more hype than top 3. Also, I was thinking of running 2v2 team tournaments every month (two weeks after singles, so we'd have a team tournament every two weeks) if there was any interest. My only issue would be being able to make it out there twice a month aside from once a month because of gas.

I don't mind a good audience cheering the players on, but man, that may have gotten just a bit excessive. But the Haku mirror match was the best! too much poking and pretty much no countering! And of course every time one of them did use a poke, everyone yelled...

But I should have stopped trying to mash drive too go through Arakune's j.b, you would think I would have figured out that it doesn't work after the first 50 times I tried . But regardless, it was fun, although I think I should play this game more than twice a month.

Winner take all but 2nd place reimbursed for entry fee? Double elim or single elim? Waseda format or Pokemon style?

I think I prefer Pokemon style over Waseda, but either is fine with me depending on what people want. I think random teams could be really fun but it'd have to be for fun, meaning the entry fee could be like $1 per person.
