so moe kona Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Ok, it seems like people want teams so 3v3 Guilty Gear teams has been added. What do you guys think would be a fair price for teams per team member?
agp24 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Whatever wouldn't be ridiculous multiplied by 2. Going with my track record, I'm entering it twice. :D
Vigilante Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 You should just stick with 2v2 because SF4 teams isn't in the same format and I don't want an arguement started.
so moe kona Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 I've talked to the GG players and they've told me that 3v3 makes more sense than 2v2. Also, compare the size of the GG community compared to the SF4 community. 2v2 SF4 would still take longer than 3v3 GG. I have not put teams on the main page yet because I still would like feedback so, as of now, teams aren't final.
agp24 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Btw, check Shoryuken, guys. Melty won the poll! Melty for Evo 2010!
Fraga Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Btw, check Shoryuken, guys. Melty won the poll! Melty for Evo 2010! :yaaay::yaaay: Look! A fighting game that's not C[r]apcom related!
Mindgam3 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Look! A fighting game that's not C[r]apcom related! Says the person who borrowed my copy of SFIV.
Fraga Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Says the person who borrowed my copy of SFIV. Fatman has to practice somehow
agp24 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Oh yeah... I never asked, but are people renting rooms in hotels or going home for the night? Or are we staying there for 2 days straight, which I'm assuming is not the case.
so moe kona Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 I highly doubt we'll be staying in hotels. I think for people who are showing up both days are driving back down for the second day.
Nuclear Cheese Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hey guys, just letting you know, I probably won't be showing up until around 7:30-8pm. Possibly a bit earlier depending on traffic and such, but I have work that day, and I'm already leaving early to pick my brother up (and drag him along). I also won't be there Saturday, but all the games I play are on Friday anyways. (PS I'm entering GG and MB, in case you couldn't figure that out by yourselves )
Fraga Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (PS I'm entering GG and MB, in case you couldn't figure that out by yourselves ) There are other good games?
so moe kona Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Would it be a safe bet to start shit at 9PM? I kinda want to get things done before they have to close up shop since all of these tournaments are actually official now.
Vigilante Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Would it be a safe bet to start shit at 9PM? I kinda want to get things done before they have to close up shop since all of these tournaments are actually official now. I thought BG was open 24hours on Friday?
Furok Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Would anybody mind giving me a ride tomorrow?
agp24 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Fraga, yes there are other good games! Garou: Mark of the Wolves is great and you know it. :D AW U OKAAAA? BUSTAAAAAHHHHH WOOOOUUUULLLLFFFF!!!
Mindgam3 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I thought BG was open 24hours on Friday? Officially, they close at 11:00pm. However, they typically let us stay until 3:00am. Would it be a safe bet to start shit at 9PM? I kinda want to get things done before they have to close up shop since all of these tournaments are actually official now. I would suggest 10:00pm, since there are oftentimes transportation issues/job responsibilities which keep people from arriving earlier. However, since it is official, we shouldn't cater to those who arrive late for no other reason than laziness. If people are going to be late, it's most certainly courteous to call in advance just so each tournament organizer knows that they are on their way. Even Alex, quite possibly the most lethargic traveler I've ever met, called in advance to let me know that he was running late for Ucon@UConn. Everyone should take from his example and pay the same respect. However, I would say that it's a safe bet that the tournament should start no later than one hour after its scheduled time. Unless there's a really good reason (such as a car breaking down), the particular party didn't plan accordingly and are effectively late. I'm not calling anyone out, since I cannot think of anyone who hasn't called to let us know of their whereabouts to this date. I'm just stating the obvious so there are no discrepancies in our expectations. As far as my attendance is concerned, I'm only coming for Friday. There are other good games? Cheese doesn't like games where you can't air dash. His entire meta-game revolves around such, and general transportation by air-travel (which is actually a bit ironic).
Light_Nazgul Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Even Alex, quite possibly the most lethargic traveler I've ever met That is not lethargy. The man plays a charge character. What may appear to be inaction to the casual observer is actually preparation for transport. Where you or I might just DOT or tk Gravedigger to a desired destination (in a timely manner haha), charging takes time. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend this week. My car that broke down on my return journey (like dropped BL loop) will be back in my possession tonight. But, I cannot trust it yet and will have further investigation into it ill behavior. Have fun guys. I will see you later.
so moe kona Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Seems like it's safe to assume that teams is out of the question. I do think we should consider the idea for the next tourney. Also, I do agree with Mindgam3 about calling in advance. I will offer my phone number via PM as a precaution. If you do PM me for my number and if you're able to text without extra charges, text me first to let me know who you are.
Vigilante Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I didn't know they kick everyone out at 3am. I should probably update the fight night thread so everybody knows.

Where you or I might just DOT or tk Gravedigger to a desired destination (in a timely manner haha), charging takes time. It's too bad Grand Viper is so unsafe ... otherwise I'd get there in no time. Also, if that's his excuse, shouldn't he just start charging sooner? Unfortunately I will be unable to attend this week. XAQshinor Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Do all the tournies on Friday start at 5?
