I unfortunately have no competition in this state (South Dakota), friends and siblings included. They'll play (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Street Fighter, etc.) for a good week then just quit and move onto something else. I can't really convince anyone to stick with it. T-T Thank God for online play I guess :psyduck:

I could help you, but, I'm going to need pics of your sister first before I can give proper advice. I'd need to see what the girl looks like, preferably asleep, the less amount of clothing on the better... with that image in my mind, I can better diagnose what her problems with learning GG and fighting games in general are.

I agree.

You know, it's useful to be considerate of an "outsider's" point of view when it comes to fighting games. To them, getting destroyed in GG is not so different from getting destroyed in MvC2, or, for the sake of hyperbole, Mario Party or something. It's not fun at all when you have the same results whether you're pressing buttons or not. For many of us, our first experiences in fighting games is getting owned by some jackass in the arcade even though we just wanted to have fun, and our reaction was to strive to improve to make the most of our quarters. Just because this turned us into serious gamers doesn't mean this ought to be a rite of passage for anyone with a passing interest in a fighting game. If you really are playing with someone who doesn't (yet) care for competitive fighting games, then toss out your playstyle for a while and dick around; deign to fight them by their "rules." Heck, you might learn something and have fun at the same time, all without alienating anyone.

You sound like a guy who knows how to have a good time.

A few friends of mine are throwing a moving party in a big van. It's gonna be fuckin' sweet! There'll be girls there and everything!

They'll be around to pick you up sometime soon. My friends will probably be in suits, but don't worry too much about the dress code.

Based on watching my friends play Tekken 6, they mash buttons and rejoice at a huge chunk of damage of one-shots(usually forward+x/o or forward+square and triangle, sorry dunno the formulas.) They don't care about combos at all; and besides those, overdrives are the way to reduce the opponent's life in GG. Their mentality is this:I press buttons and I win.

Hrm...

I had one of these parties thrown for me once... they took me to a bigger party house for roughly 5 years. It was a total sausage fest, I think I'll pass.
